Predicting Bengals’ 16-man practice squad

What might the practice squad look like for the Bengals after final cuts?

The Cincinnati Bengals will tweak the roster over the course of the next week in the wake of final cuts.

Zac Taylor and Co. will look over the waiver wire and available free agents after so many players leaguewide shook loose. Perhaps they’ll even consider trades.

And in the process, they’ll formulate a 16-player practice squad. These days, this practice squad can include six veterans without restrictions, too.

Here’s a look at what that practice squad might look like:

  • QB Logan Woodside
  • DT Carlos Davis
  • WR Cole Burgess
  • WR Shedrick Jackson
  • WR Kendric Pryor
  • CB Lance Robinson
  • HB Elijah Collins
  • DT Travis Bell
  • S PJ Jules
  • CB Jalen Davis
  • LB Aaron Casey
  • DE Justin Blazek
  • G Eric Miller
  • WR Hakeem Butler
  • RB Samaje Perine (recently cut in Denver)
  • DE Khalid Kareem (recently cut in Chicago)

Raiders swipe TE depth from Bengals practice squad before Week 17

The Bengals just lost a player to the Raiders.

The Cincinnati Bengals lost a little tight end depth ahead of the Week 17 encounter with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The team has the Las Vegas Raiders to thank, as they swooped in and signed tight end Zach Gentry off the Cincinnati practice squad to their own 53-man roster, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

Gentry joined the Bengals back in the start of September as the 16th and final member of the initial practice squad to start the season.

Drew Sample, Tanner Hudson, Irv Smith Jr. and Mitchell Wilcox remain the only tight ends on the active roster as the position has grown in importance in the Jake Browning-led offense since Joe Burrow went down.

Former Eagles RB Elijah Holyfield signing to Bengals practice squad

Former Philadelphia Eagles running back Elijah Holyfield signing to Bengals practice squad

Elijah Holyfield is taking his talents to the AFC North, as Ian Rapoport is reporting that the former Eagles running back is signing to the Bengals practice squad.

Philadelphia cut Holyfield on Aug. 29 ahead of the NFL roster cut deadline after former Georgia Bulldogs running back spent time with their practice squad last season and appeared on their active roster.

The son of a Heavyweight Boxing legend, Holyfield went undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft and signed as a free agent with the Carolina Panthers.

He spent time with Baltimore in September and he’ll now head to a division rival.
