The Chicago Bears welcome the Cincinnati Bengals to Soldier Field for Week 2 of the preseason Saturday. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET (NFL Network). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Bengals vs. Bears odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

The fans of Cincinnati were given a sense of relief when QB Joe Burrow took the 1st-team offense down the field on the opening drive for a TD on a pass to WR Tee Higgins. That’s all Bengals fans wanted to see and the 17-14 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers didn’t bother them. Coach Zac Taylor said Burrow will not play against the Bears.

The Bears play their 3rd preseason game on Saturday, but their 1st in front of the home fans. After a 21-17 loss to the Houston Texans in the Hall of Fame game, No. 1 overall pick QB Caleb Williams led Chicago to a 33-6 victory against the Buffalo Bills. Williams hit 4-of-7 passes for 95 yards. RB Ian Wheeler was the standout on offense, rushing for 43 yards and 2 TDs The Windy City will get their 1st closeup look at their future of their franchise on Saturday.

Bengals at Bears picks and predictions

Prediction

Bears 31, Bengals 14

Moneyline

I’m confident the Bears will win this game and obviously so is Vegas because they are nearly 3-1 favorites. I’ll save my wager for the spread.

PASS.

Against the spread

BET BEARS -6.5 (-110).

This game will be the dress rehearsal for the Bears and their franchise QB  Williams. It will likely be the last time we see him before Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans. He’ll likely play a half and try to light up the Bengals secondary to show the home Chicago crowd what they got with the No. 1 pick.

Chicago is 6-2 under Matt Eberflus in the preseason, that’s impressive. The Bears backups have been stout on the defensive side since the 2nd quarter of the Hall of Fame game.

The Bengals will let Jake Browning and Logan Woodside battle for the No. 2 spot on the depth chart behind Burrow. Cincinnati is not going to risk him anymore this preseason.

Over/Under

The total at 36.5 is about the average total of the scores across the Week 1 preseason slate. Chicago has a better 2nd-team offense, which is led by Khalil Herbert and Brett Rypien, who is making a push to be QB2 in Chicago.

BET OVER 36.5 (-110).
