The Baylor Bears (5-3, 3-2 Big 12) travel to Norman to take on the Oklahoma Sooners (5-3, 2-3) Saturday at 3 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Baylor vs. Oklahoma odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.
Coach Brent Venables and QB Dillon Gabriel came into Norman with hopes of keeping Oklahoma at the top of the Big 12 for the 2022 season. So far, things have not gone as planned. After a 49-0 loss to rival Texas and a 55-24 loss to TCU, the Sooners are trying to just remain respectable for the rest of the season.
Venables, being a defensive coach, was supposed to bring order to a defense which severely lacked behind the offense under Lincoln Riley. But it has failed to get better and Oklahoma is allowing 40 points per game in the conference.
Baylor, coming off a Big 12 Title last season, has also stepped back a bit. The defensive line and the offensive line are good, but the team has struggled a bit under Blake Shapen. The QB who won the job in the bowl game last season and was given the starting position over previous starter Gerry Bohanon, which led Bohanon to transfer to South Florida.

Baylor at Oklahoma picks and predictions
Prediction
Oklahoma 41, Baylor 35
Moneyline
PASS. The ML is too high in this game to make it a viable play. The ATS or O/U are better uses of your money.
Against the spread
LEAN OKLAHOMA -3.5 (-105).
These teams are evenly matched this season. With Shapen and Gabriel leading the way, both schools will score in this matchup. But Gabriel has more experience and with Oklahoma playing at home, the Sooners will get the victory and cover the -3.5 (-105).
Over/Under
BET OVER 61.5 (-108)
Like I said, both teams can score. And both teams will score.
In the 1st year under a new defensive coach, Oklahoma has been limited in what changes they can make. Without the correct talent on the roster, the schemes must be simple, and these have been figured out by opposing offenses. In 5 Big 12 games, Oklahoma has given up 200 points. I do not feel Baylor will get to 40. But I am certain 30 is on the table. I would take this number up to 64.5 and therefore Over 61.5 (-108) is my favorite play in this game.
