5-star center Baye Fall includes Auburn in final 7

Auburn made the cut for the best center prospect in the country.

Auburn is in the final group for the nation’s No. 1 center prospect [autotag]Baye Fall[/autotag].

Fall announced his final seven schools Friday and Auburn will be battling Arkansas, Kansas State, Texas, Seton Hall, Rutgers, and Colorado for the 6-foot-10 Fall.

He is ranked as the No. 13 overall player and No. 1 player from Colorado in the 247Sports composite ranking for the 2023 recruiting class. He took an official visit to Auburn on June 20 and the Tigers have been heavily involved in his recruitment ever since.

Fall is a gifted athlete and like most high school seniors his offensive game is still very raw but he thrives as an offensive rebounder and getting put-back dunks. His length helps him not only block shots but also get into passing lanes.

Four-star C Assane Diop places Auburn in top group

Auburn will have to beat out Arkansas, BYU, Seton Hall, Kansas State, Arizona State, Ohio State, and Colorado for Assane Diop.

[autotag]Assane Diop[/autotag] is a four-star big man in the 2023 recruiting class and he is down to eight schools, one of which is Auburn.

He announced a top eight of Auburn, Arkansas, BYU, Seton Hall, Kansas State, Arizona State, Ohio State, and Colorado, Tuesday night on Twitter.

Diop is a 6-foot-10, 190-pound center from Denver, Colorado who can also play power forward. He is rated as the No. 81 overall recruit and No. 11 center in the 247Sports composite raking. He is also ranked as the No. 2 player in Colorado.

He is cousins with the five-star prospect and No. 12 overall recruit Baye Fall, who is also an Auburn target. The two have expressed interest in applying together at the next level and both took an official visit to the plains on June 20.

Diop has an impressive frame an a great motor but is quite thin, which is to be expected of a player his age. He has flashed some playmaking ability and can score when facing the basket.

2023 Basketball Prospects: Baye Fall’s Recruiting Profile

Here is prospect 2023: Baye Fall’s recruiting profile

Auburn is putting in the work to land the best center in the country.

[autotag]Baye Fall[/autotag] is the top center in the 2023 recruiting class and he recently told Joe Tipton of On3 that Auburn is one of the schools recruiting him the hardest.

Fall is just the latest in a long line of five-star players that [autotag]Bruce Pearl[/autotag] and Co. have prioritized and they have won more than their fair share of those battles.

The Tigers have done especially well with big men lately, landing Walker Kessler, Yohan Traore, and Johni Broome in back-to-back years.

Fall is still developing offensively but uses his 6-foot-10 frame effectively on the offensive glass to create easy put-back dunks and to block shots defensively.

His recruitment is far from over, but the Tigers did get his first official visit and can point to developing Kessler into a first-round draft pick when they recruit Fall.

Basketball Recruiting: Colorado’s top player for the 2023 class projected to land at Arkansas

Rivals says that Arkansas is the favorite to land the nation’s No. 3 center for the 2023 recruiting cycle.

Arkansas Men’s Basketball is projected to land one of the nation’s best “big men” for the class of 2023.

Travis Graf of Rivals has projected [autotag]Baye Fall[/autotag], the nation’s No. 3 center, and the No. 1 prospect from the state of Colorado, will commit to Arkansas.

Fall currently has 22 offers from top programs across the country, which includes five SEC programs. While Arkansas has received one expert projection, there are at least three schools that head coach Eric Musselman will have to compete with in order to land Fall’s commitment.

Kansas State appears to be behind Arkansas according to Rivals, with Texas and Auburn both neck-and-neck according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine.

On3’s scouting report on Fall says that defense is his strong suit:

Baye Fall plays with a great motor, and that leads to ample production. He has good size with great length and is very fluid in his movements. Fall has touch that extends out to the three-point line, but his offensive game is still very raw. Fall plays best as the roll man or in the dunker spots. He is a good offensive rebounder, a put-back dunk threat of missed shots. Fall will need to continue adding strength. He does not have much with his back to the basket, and his pick and pop or trail jump shot feels a bit mechanical. Fall moves his feet well laterally and plays with vertical explosion. He is a good shot blocker and is instinctive in the passing lanes.

Fall told Rivals in December that he likes the style of play that Arkansas uses.

“There is a lot of freedom they give their bigs. They play fast there, too. Fast and free.”

2023 Auburn basketball target will visit the Plains on June 20

2023 five-star center Baye Fall will be taking an official visit to Auburn on June 20th.

On Sunday, 247Sports national recruiting analyst Brandon Jenkins reported that 2023 center Baye Fall would be visiting Auburn on June 20th. It will be the first time that Fall has been able to make it to the Plains.

Fall is regarded as a five-star according to 247Sports’ recruiting rankings. He is listed at 6-foot-10 and 205 pounds. Thus far, the product of Denver Prep Academy has taken just two unofficial visits — Arkansas and Seton Hall. Auburn will be the first school that Fall will take an official visit to. After his visit to Auburn, he plans on taking an official visit to Texas on September 10th.

Interestingly enough, the Auburn coaching staff has also shown interest in Fall’s teammate at Denver Prep — Assane Diop. However, he hasn’t received an offer. Recently, Jenkins caught up with Fall to discuss some of the schools in his recruitment process, and here is what Fall said about Auburn:

“I am talking to Bruce Pearl and Wes Flanigan. I like how they play. What they did with Jabari Smith stood out a lot to me. They play in the SEC and I like that conference.”

It will be interesting to see how much [autotag]Bruce Pearl[/autotag] and his staff decide to pursue Fall. After all, the Tigers have had success on the recruiting trail as of late.

Who is Oklahoma Basketball targeting in the 2023 class?

Oklahoma signed three in the 2022 class. Who is on Oklahoma’s radar in 2023?

Oklahoma’s men’s basketball team has been mired in a difficult stretch to say the least. After losing Saturday at Iowa State 75-54, the Sooners have dropped 10 of their past 12 games and fell to the “first four out” section of ESPN analyst Joe Lunardi’s latest Bracketology projection.

OU signed three in the 2022 class back in November. According to ESPN, OU signed a pair of top-100 players in point guard Milos Uzan and small forward Otega Oweh. Oklahoma also signed the top international prospect according to ESPN in Germany wing Benny Schröder.

Who are the Sooners after beyond 2022, though? Let’s take a look at some of OU’s 2023 targets.
