5 things to watch as Browns and Ravens get set to lock horns

What should we be watching closely in Sunday’s matchup between the Browns and Ravens?

For the third time in four weeks, we have another AFC North slugfest taking place at First Energy Stadium on Sunday. The Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens are both 2-1 entering this Week 4 matchup looking to notch another divisional win under their belt as well. The Browns have turned to Elijah Moore a great deal since the injury of running back Nick Chubb, and the Ravens will continue to allow quarterback Lamar Jackson to make plays with the football in his hands.

The Browns look to advance to 3-1 for the first time in awhile as they head into their bye week next week. They will then take on the high-flying San Francisco 49ers coming out of the bye week. Getting a win this week against the Ravens will go a long way in boosting confidence and morale in Berea as they have an opportunity to further their stance as a Super Bowl contender.

Without overlooking the Ravens (that would be a foolish thing to do), however, here are five things to watch in this AFC North showdown.

Amari Cooper reached a massive career milestone in the win over the Ravens!

For a certain wide receiver on the Cleveland Browns, a career milestone was met as well as Amari Cooper has eclipsed the 8,000 receiving yards mark in his career as well.

While Cooper only went for 58 yards on four catches on the day, a game that included just four fourth quarter passes as Nick Chubb ground out the clock, he now sits with 8,008 career yards receiving throughout his nine-year career with the Oakland Raiders, Dallas Cowboys, and Browns.

With three games to go, Cooper sits just 68 yards from his fifth career 1,000-yard season as well.

Browns drop two slots in 2023 NFL Draft order after win vs. Ravens

Where would the Browns draft in the 2023 NFL Draft if it were today?

There are just three weeks left in the regular season for teams who will not make the playoffs to solidify their 2023 NFL Draft slots. While the Cleveland Browns are not mathematically eliminated from playoff contention yet, their draft pick will not fall much further than what it is now. After a win against the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday, the Browns saw their draft slot fall back to the 44th overall selection from the 42nd pick.

This means the Houston Texans would prospectively hold the 13th overall pick in the draft from the Browns after the Deshaun Watson trade this past offseason. This could end up being the prime position to land a defensive tackle like Alabama’s Byron Young.

Surpassing both Romeo Crennel and Butch Davis, who coaches 12 and 16 more games respectively than Stefanski, the current head coach in Cleveland has surpassed them in just 47 games coached.
