The Baltimore Orioles (60-38) and Texas Rangers (46-52) conclude their 3-game series Sunday. First pitch from Globe Life Field is set for 2:35 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Orioles vs. Rangers odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Orioles lead 5-1

The Orioles chased Rangers starter Max Scherzer after just 2 innings in Saturday’s 8-4 win. All-star 2B Jordan Westburg went 3-for-5 with a 2-run HR. Baltimore also got homers from 1B Ryan O’Hearn and CF Cedric Mullins. The Orioles have scored 17 runs and allowed 5 in the 1st 2 games of this series.

The Texas offense was held to 2 ER over 6 innings by Baltimore starter Grayson Rodriguez. C Andrew Knizner had a 2 RBI single while LF Wyatt Langford and RF Adolis Garcia each had an RBI. The Rangers are 6-6 against the AL East this season.

Orioles at Rangers projected starters

RHP Dean Kremer vs. RHP Andrew Heaney

Kremer (4-5, 4.38 ERA) makes his 13th start. He has a 1.19 WHIP, 3.5 BB/9 and 9.0 K/9 in 63 2/3 IP.

Orioles at Rangers picks and predictions

Prediction

Orioles 7, Rangers 5

Moneyline

BET ORIOLES (-118).

I freely admit that this is lukewarm endorsement because I’m not extremely confident in Kremer, but neither am I confident in Heaney. The Orioles are crushing the ball in Texas this weekend and I’ll bet on them to keep that rolling on Sunday and complete the sweep.

Baltimore has an exceptional road record (30-16)and has won 6 of its last 8 on the road.

Run line/Against the spread

PASS.

I don’t like either team on the run line so I’ll stick to the moneyline.

Over/Under

BET OVER 8.5 (-115).

The Over has hit in 4 straight and 5 of the last 6 matchups between these 2 teams.

The Orioles have been Over in 3 straight and are 50-38-10 against the Over on the season. In Kremer’s last 6 starts, the Over has hit in 5 of them. Baltimore has also averaged 8.5 runs per game in this series.

Baltimore Orioles at Texas Rangers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Baltimore Orioles at Texas Rangers odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Baltimore Orioles (59-38) and Texas Rangers (46-51) meet Saturday for the 2nd of a 3-game series. First pitch from Globe Life Field is set for 7:05 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Orioles vs. Rangers odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Baltimore leads 4-1

Baltimore smacked Texas 9-1 Friday while covering as a -106 road favorite. RHP Corbin Burnes pitched 6 innings and allowed only 1 ER, 2 H and 4 BB with 6 K’s. RF Anthony Santander went 3-for-5 at the plate and hit 2 homers in the win, driving in 5 runs.

Friday’s loss ended a streak of back-to-back wins for the Rangers, who have now allowed at least 6 runs in each of their last 3 losses.

Orioles at Rangers projected starters

RHP Grayson Rodriguez vs. RHP Max Scherzer

Rodriguez (11-4, 3.88 ERA) makes his 18th start. He has a 1.24 WHIP, 2.8 BB/9 and 10.1 K/9 through 99 2/3 innings.

  • Last start: Loss, 5 IP, 6 ER, 8 H, 1 BB, 7 K in a 6-1 loss vs. the Yankees Saturday
  • Career vs. Texas: 0-1, 10.80 ERA (8 1/3 IP 10 ER), 10 H, 4 BB, 11 K in 2 starts

Scherzer (1-2, 2.96 ERA) makes his 6th start. He has a 0.99 WHIP, 1.3 BB/9 and 7.6 K/9 through 27 1/3 innings.

  • Last start: No-decision, 4 IP, 1 ER, 4 H, 1 BB, 6 K in a 4-2 win over Houston Sunday
  • Career vs. Baltimore: 7-3, 3.18 ERA (102 IP, 36 ER), 1.03 WHIP, 11.3 K/9 across 15 starts

Who’s going yard? Here’s a breakdown of today’s best home run props with our top picks. Include the BetMGM bonus code SBWIRE to score a $1,500 first-bet offer.

Orioles at Rangers odds

  • Moneyline (ML): Orioles -124 (bet $124 to win $100) | Rangers +106 (bet $100 to win $106)
  • Run line (RL)/Against the spread (ATS): Orioles -1.5 (+142) | Rangers +1.5 (-172)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 8 (O: -105 | U: -115)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Orioles at Rangers picks and predictions

Prediction

Orioles 7, Rangers 6

Moneyline

LEAN ORIOLES (-124).

Baltimore has won back-to-back games and is 3-1 in its last 4 road games while the Rangers are only 2-3 in their last 5 overall.

The Orioles are also 4-1 in their last 5 matchups vs. the Rangers.

This is a lean because the Orioles are only 4-6 in their last 10 while the Rangers are 7-3 across that same span.

Run line/Against the spread

PASS.

I like the Rangers to cover here as +1.5 (-172) underdogs, especially as they are 7-3 in their last 10 and are 5-5 in their last 10 vs. Baltimore, but the line is not worth the risk. Bet on the moneyline and/or total instead.

Over/Under

BET OVER 8 (-105).

The Over has hit in back-to-back games for Baltimore and in each of its last 3 road games. For Texas, the Over is 2-0 in its last 2 at home and 5-2-1 in its last 8 overall. The Over has also hit in each of the last 3 Baltimore-Texas matchups, being 4-1 in the last 5 meetings.

Baltimore Orioles at Texas Rangers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Baltimore Orioles at Texas Rangers odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Baltimore Orioles (58-38) open the 2nd half of the season on the road against the Texas Rangers (46-50). First pitch in Friday’s game at Globe Life Field is 8:10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s (OR FanDuel Sportsbook’s) lines around the Orioles vs. Rangers odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Orioles lead 3-1

Baltimore stumbled into the break with a 1-5 record on their homestand, dropping their lead in the AL East to 1 game over the New York Yankees

An up-and-down 1st half ended on a high note for the Rangers, as they won 7 of their last 9 games before the All-Star break. Texas is 3rd in the AL West.

Orioles at Rangers projected starters

RHP Corbin Burnes vs. RHP Nathan Eovaldi

Burnes (9-4, 2.43 ERA) makes his 20th start. He has a 1.04 WHIP, 1.9 BB/9 and 8.3 K/9 in 118 2/3 IP.

  • Has a 2.94 ERA, 0.90 WHIP and 7.6 K/9 in 8 road starts this season
  • Last start vs. Texas: Win, 7 IP, 1 ER, 9 H, 0 BB, 5 K in 11-2 win June 27
  • Has a 2.15 ERA and 8.0 K/9 over his last 11 starts (71 IP)

Eovaldi (6-3, 2.97 ERA) makes his 17th start. He has a 1.04 WHIP, 2.5 BB/9 and 8.8 K/9 in 94 IP.

  • Is 5-0 with a 1.99 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and 8.9 K/9 in 10 home starts this season
  • Was dominant in final 3 starts before the break, allowing just 3 ER in 21 IP with an 18/0 K/BB

Who’s going yard? Here’s a breakdown of today’s best home run props with our top picks. Include the BetMGM bonus code SBWIRE to score a $1,500 first-bet offer.

Orioles at Rangers odds

  • Run line (RL)/Against the spread (ATS): Orioles -1.5 (+100) | Rangers +1.5 (-120)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 8 (O: -105 | U: -115)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Orioles at Rangers picks and predictions

Prediction

Orioles 4, Rangers 3

Moneyline

The Orioles are 28-16 on the road this season, and the 5.32 runs per game they have scored on the road ranks 2nd in the majors. Burnes always puts them in position to win, as they are 12-7 in the games he has started.

On the other side, the Rangers are 24-21 at home and are 10-6 in games started by Eovaldi. This game could go either way and while the Orioles deserve to be slight favorites, the cost is too steep. PASS on this price and look for value elsewhere.

Run line/Against the spread

Eovaldi boasts a sub-3.00 ERA on the year and both he and his team were rolling heading into the break. The Rangers have lost by more than 1 run just once in his last 10 starts and they are a good bet to keep this game close, if not win outright. Side with RANGERS +1.5 (-120).

Over/Under

Both starting pitchers have been very stingy with runs allowed throughout the season and there won’t likely be a lot of offensive fireworks in Arlington Friday night. A small wager on UNDER 8 (-115) is the side to take in this anticipated pitchers’ duel.

ALDS Game 3: Baltimore Orioles at Texas Rangers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Baltimore Orioles at Texas Rangers ALDS Game 3 odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Baltimore Orioles and the Texas Rangers play Game 3 of an AL Division Series Tuesday. First pitch from Globe Life Field is scheduled for 8:03 p.m. ET (FOX). Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Orioles vs. Rangers odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

ALDS Series: Rangers lead 2-0

Baltimore lost 11-8 in Game 2 on Sunday. The Orioles had jumped out to a 2-0 lead before giving up the next 9 runs over the 2nd and 3rd innings to fall into an insurmountable hole. The O’s fought back to make things respectable, plating 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th, but couldn’t finish the comeback and fell in an 0-2 series hole. Baltimore suffered a 3-2 setback in the series opener on Saturday.

The Rangers have pushed the O’s to the brink of elimination, while going a perfect 4-for-4 in the postseason, all against AL East teams. After sweeping the Tampa Bay Rays in 2 games in an AL Wild Card series, the Rangers can broom the O’s in 3 games and punch their ticket to the ALCS with a victory.

Game 3 was stunning for a number of reasons, one of which was that Baltimore pitching had allowed just 17 runs in the previous 9 games (1.9 runs per game (RPG)), before coughing up 11 runs in Game 2. The Over result snapped a 9-game Under result but the Under is still 11-2 in the past 13 games overall for the O’s.

Orioles at Rangers projected starters

RHP Dean Kremer vs. RHP Nathan Eovaldi

Kremer made 32 starts in the regular season, going 13-5 with a 4.12 ERA. He had a 1.31 WHIP, 2.9 BB/9 and 8.2 K/9 over 172 2/3 innings.

  • Last start: Win, 5 1/3 IP, 0 ER, 2 H, 1 BB, 8 K in 2-0 home win vs. the Boston Red Sox Sept. 28
  • 2023 road splits: 5-3, 3.73 ERA (70 IP, 29 ER), 9 HR in 17 starts
  • Making his 1st career postseason start and appearance

Eovaldi was 12-5 with a 3.63 ERA across 25 regular-season starts. He had a 1.14 WHIP, 2.9 BB/9 and 8.3 K/9 in 144 innings.

  • Last start: Win, 6 2/3 IP, 1 ER, 6 H, 0 BB, 8 K in 7-1 road win vs. the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 2 of their AL Wild Card Series
  • 2023 home splits: 6-2, 3.56 ERA (78 1/3 IP, 31 ER), 6 HR in 13 starts in the regular season
  • Making his 8th career postseason start and 13th overall appearance

Orioles at Rangers picks and predictions

Prediction

Rangers 4, Orioles 2

Moneyline

The RANGERS (-142) are playing their first home playoff game after going a perfect 4-0 on the road. Will playing in front of the home fans change anything? It’s unlikely.

The Orioles roll out one of their best pitchers in Kremer, but he has no postseason experience. He’ll be going up against the most experienced active postseason pitcher the Rangers have on their roster. Eovaldi carved up the Rays in a wild-card clincher, pitching into the 7th inning, and that’s not a good thing for Baltimore.

Run line/Against the spread

The RANGERS -1.5 (+140) are worth playing lightly, although you can expect that the Orioles aren’t just going to roll over in Game 3. Baltimore won 101 regular-season games, and it was 2-1 in 3 games in Texas earlier this summer. Still, Texas is rolling right along, and Eovaldi is the difference.

Over/Under

The UNDER 9 (-105) is the way to go again after a high-scoring Game 2.

The Under is 11-2 in the past 13 games overall for the Orioles dating back to the regular season. The Under also has a slight 5-4 lean for the O’s in the past 9 starts by Kremer.

The Over is 5-4-1 in the Rangers’ last 10 home starts by Eovaldi but the Under is 2-2 in Texas postseason play so far and is 6-2-1 in its last 9 games overall.

The Baltimore Orioles (52-51) visit Globe Life Field Tuesday to play the Texas Rangers (46-56) for the 2nd-game of their 3-game set. First pitch is at 8:05 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Orioles vs. Rangers odds with MLB picks and predictions.

Season series: Baltimore leads 4-0 and has a plus-8 run differential

Baltimore won the series opener 7-2 Monday with Orioles batters 1-4 (CF Cedric Mullins, C Adley Rutschman, DH Anthony Santander and 1B Ryan Mountcastle) going 8-for-17 at the plate with 1 home run, 3 doubles and 6 RBIs. Rangers RHP Jon Gray exited in the 2nd inning with discomfort in his side.

The Orioles traded now-former All-Star closer Jorge Lopez to the Minnesota Twins and 1B Trey Mancini to the Houston Astros before Tuesday’s trade deadline.

Orioles at Rangers projected starters

RHP Jordan Lyles vs. RHP Spencer Howard

Lyles is 7-8 with a 4.56 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, 3.0 BB/9 and 7.4 K/9 in 118 1/3 IP over 21 starts.

  • Last start: Win, 3-0, at home Thursday vs. the Tampa Bay Rays with 5 2/3-scoreless IP, 3 H, 4 BB and 4 K.
  • This is a “revenge game” for Lyles who pitched in Texas in the previous 2 seasons.

Howard is 2-2 with a 5.93 ERA, 1.58 WHIP, 3.6 BB/9 and 7.7 K/9 in 30 1/3 IP across 6 starts and 2 relief appearances.

  • Last start: Win, 2-0, Thursday at the Los Angeles Angels with 5-scoreless IP, 3 H, 0 BB and 5 K.
  • 2022 vs. the Orioles: No-decision in Texas’s 10-9 loss in Baltimore Tuesday with 4 IP, 4 ER, 6 H, 2 BB and 2 K.

Orioles at Rangers picks and predictions

Prediction

Orioles 6, Rangers 4

Money line

BET a half-unit on the ORIOLES (+105) since the Rangers are 17-21 straight up (SU) as favorites.

Baltimore has the edge in the pitching matchup Tuesday. It’s a “revenge game” for Lyles who’s pitched well over his last 7 starts (3-2 SU with a 3.86 ERA) and Texas’s bullpen is fatigued after Gray exited Monday’s Orioles-Rangers meeting in the 2nd inning.

Baltimore’s lineup is also more productive vs. right-handed pitching. The Orioles outperform the Rangers against righty pitching in runs per 9 (4.47-4.16), wRC+ (96-84), wOBA (.304-.298) and ISO (.155-.146), according to FanGraphs.

BET the ORIOLES (+105) for a half-unit only because there’s “reverse line movement” in the betting market per Pregame.com, which suggests the Rangers could be the sharper side.

Run line/Against the spread

PASS.

The Orioles +1.5 (-190) is way out of my price range for an outright bet but it’s obviously the right side. Baltimore is 31-21 RL as a road underdog and Texas is 8-14 RL as a home favorite.

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 8.5 (-122) because both starters are “bottom-of-the-rotation” guys and both bullpens are taxed.

Globe Life Field ranks 8th in park factor and there are hitter-friendly weather conditions forecasted Tuesday with temperatures in the high-90s and a 12 mph wind blowing out to center field.

Orioles at Rangers picks and predictions

Prediction

Rangers 5, Orioles 2

Money line

RISK 1 UNIT on the RANGERS (-165) instead of betting to win 1 unit.

There’s a “Pros vs. Joe’s” scenario in the betting market with roughly 70% of the cash on the Rangers whereas nearly two-thirds of the bets placed are on the Orioles (+133), per Pregame.com.

Typically, it’s wise to follow the money when it’s counter to the public since professional bettors put up a lot more dough than you or I.

Furthermore, Texas is 4-1 SU at home with Gray on the hill with an average final score of 5.00-3.40 with a plus-60.2% return on investment and Gray’s advanced pitching numbers are much better than Watkins’.

For instance, Gray’s K%, hard-hit rate and exit velocity are all better than the MLB average while Watkins’ are worse. Also, Gray’s FIP (3.37) is lower than his ERA whereas Watkins’ FIP is higher (4.45). FIP is more predictive than ERA so Gray’s pitching performance is more likely to continue than Watkins’.
