The Baltimore Orioles (22-11) and Cincinnati Reds (16-17) conclude their 3-game series Sunday. First pitch from Great American Ball Park is slated for 4:10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Orioles vs. Reds odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Orioles lead 2-0

Baltimore looks to sweep the Reds on Sunday after winning 2-1 on Saturday after a 3-0 win on Friday. RHP John Means looked like his old self on Saturday, striking out 8 over 7 scoreless innings. C Adley Rutschman had a 3-hit night including a solo HR. The Orioles pitching staff has not allowed more than 2 runs in its last 5 games (2 shutouts).

The Reds wasted another solid pitching performance from LHP Andrew Abbott, who struck out 8 Orioles over 5 IP allowing just 2 runs. The only offense Cincinnati could produce was an RBI single from LF Spencer Steer in the bottom of the 9th. The Reds have now dropped 6 of their last 8.

Orioles at Reds projected starters

RHP Dean Kremer vs. LHP Nick Lodolo

Kremer (2-2, 4.19 ERA) makes his 7th start. He has a 1.08 WHIP, 2.6 BB/9 and 8.1 K/9 in 34 1/3 IP.

  • Last start: Win, 7 IP, 2 ER, 4 H, 4 BB, 4 K in a 4-2 win over the New York Yankees Tuesday
  • Only start vs Reds: Loss, 4 1/3 IP, 6 ER, 10 H, 1 BB, 3 K in a 8-2 road loss on July 30, 2022

Lodolo (3-0, 1.88 ERA) makes his 5th start. He has a 0.88 WHIP, 2.3 BB/9 and 11.6 K/9 in 24 IP.

  • Last start: Win, 7 IP, 1 ER, 1 H, 2 BB, 11 K in a 5-2 win at the San Diego Padres Monday
  • Only start vs Orioles: No-decision, 6 IP, 1 ER, 4 H, 2 BB, 7 K in a 3-2 home victory on July 31, 2022

Orioles at Reds picks and predictions

Prediction

Reds 3, Orioles 2

Moneyline

BET REDS (-112).

Baltimore’s pitching has been superb and while that should continue on Sunday, Cincinnati will get just enough offense to avoid the sweep at home. The Reds have won 2 of their last 3 Sunday games.

Typically, I’d love the Orioles against the southpaw, but they struggled against Abbott on Saturday. Lodolo is a much better pitcher in my eyes; the K-per-9 rate ranks inside the top 5 in the Major Leagues.

Run line/Against the spread

PASS.

I’m going to focus my bet on the moneyline and not worry about the run line in this game.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 9 (-102).

All of the trends are begging you to bet the Under in this one and I’m going to listen. Orioles games have had 9 or fewer runs in 7 straight, while the Reds have been Under 9 total runs in 5 of their last 6 games.

Lodolo has allowed more than 1 run in 1 of his 4 starts this season. Kremer has allowed 3 or less runs 5 of his 6 starts this season.

Baltimore Orioles at Cincinnati Reds odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Baltimore Orioles at Cincinnati Reds odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Baltimore Orioles (21-11) and Cincinnati Reds (16-16) play the 2nd game of a 3-game series Saturday. First pitch from Great American Ball Park is slated for 6:40 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Orioles vs. Reds odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Orioles lead 1-0

After nearly a 2-hour rain delay, Baltimore won its series opener 3-0 over the Cincinnati Reds Friday night. The game was scoreless through 6 innings before DH Ryan O’Hearn smashed a 2-run shot bringing home C Adley Rutschman. Orioles starter Cole Irvin allowed just 2 hits over 6 1/3 innings of work. Baltimore pitching has not allowed more than 2 runs in its last 4 games (2 shutouts).

The Reds wasted a terrific outing from RHP Hunter Greene, who struck out 5 over 5 2/3 scoreless innings. The only 2 hits that Cincinnati could muster in the ballgame came from SS Elly De La Cruz. The Giants are now 1-3 to begin their 10-game road trip. The Reds have now dropped 5 of their last 7.

Orioles at Reds projected starters

LHP John Means vs. LHP Andrew Abbott

Means (1-2, 2.66 ERA in 2023) makes his 1st start. He had a 0.72 WHIP, 1.5 BB/9 and 3.8 K/9 in 23 2/3 innings.

  • 2023 road stats: 1-0, 1.46 ERA (12 1/3 IP, 2 ER) in 2 starts
  • Last start vs. Orioles: Loss, 5 IP, 4 ER (7 R), 7 H, 4 BB, 3 K in 10-3 home loss Sept. 6, 2023
  • Has never faced Reds before

Abbott (1-3, 3.27 ERA) may make his 7th start. He has a 1.12 WHIP, 3.0 BB/9 and 7.4 K/9 in 33 innings.

  • Last start: Loss, 5 1/3 IP, 4 ER, 6 H, 0 BB, 7 K in 4-3 loss at Texas Rangers Sunday
  • Only start vs Orioles: Win, 6 IP, 1 ER, 2 H, 3 BB, 8 K in 3-1 road victory June 27, 2023

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Orioles at Reds picks and predictions

Prediction

Orioles 7, Reds 5

Moneyline

BET ORIOLES (-118).

Baltimore knows it needs to provide some offense for Means returning to the mound for the 1st time since last September. That shouldn’t be a difficult task since it has crushed left-handed pitching all season long to the tune of an .827 OPS as a team.

You’ve got to love these trends as well: The Orioles are 7-4 against southpaws, 9-4 away from home, and they’re actually hitting better on the road than they are at Camden Yards.

Run line/Against the spread

PASS.

I’m going to focus my bet on the moneyline and not worry about the run line in this one.

Over/Under

BET OVER 9.5 (-108).

You’ve got a guy who hasn’t pitched in basically 9 months starting for Baltimore and, despite Abbott’s performances at home, is likely to get tattooed against this Orioles lineup.

After Friday night’s lackluster offensive performance by both teams, things should open up big time Saturday night.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Baltimore Orioles (20-11) and Cincinnati Reds (16-15) open a 3-game series at Great American Ball Park Friday. First pitch is scheduled for 6:10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Orioles vs. Reds odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: First meeting; Reds won 2-1 last season

The Orioles got back in the win column with a 7-2 victory over the New York Yankees Thursday to cash as -109 home favorites. Orioles 1B Ryan Mountcastle and CF Ryan McKenna each homered, while 3 different Baltimore players had 2 RBIs. LHP Keegan Akin allowed 1 earned run in 1 1/3 innings to pick up the win.

LF Spencer Steer had a solo home run and 3B Jeimer Candelario had an RBI in the losing effort. RHP Fernando Cruz allowed 4 earned runs by way of a grand slam to pick up the loss.

Orioles at Reds projected starters

LHP Cole Irvin vs. RHP Hunter Greene

Irvin (2-1, 3.49 ERA) makes his 6th start. He has a 1.24 WHIP, 2.2 BB/9 and 5.7 K/9 in 28 1/3 innings.

  • Orioles are 4-1 in his starts, including 4-0 in last 4

Orioles at Reds picks and predictions

Prediction

Reds 5, Orioles 3

Moneyline

BET REDS (-110).

Cincinnati has won 2 of its last 3 games at home and is returning from a 6-game road-trip. It has played better at home and scored 4 or more runs in 3 of its last 5 games.

Greene has been solid on the mound this season, but has seen little offensive support. With him keeping runs off the board, the Reds offense will be able to assist him and get the win Friday.

Run line/Against the spread

PASS.

The moneyline presents a better opportunity for Cincinnati.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 9 (-105).

The Orioles have allowed 2 or fewer runs in 5 of their last 6 games and 3 or fewer in 7 of their last 10. They have failed to hit the Over in 6 of their last 9 games.

The Reds have failed to hit the Over in 6 of their last 10 games and allowed 4 or fewer runs in 6 of their last 9.

Baltimore Orioles at Cincinnati Reds odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Baltimore Orioles at Cincinnati Reds odds and lines, with MLB expert picks and predictions.

The Baltimore Orioles (50-49) take on the Cincinnati Reds (38-60) Friday in the 1st game of a 3-game set at Great American Ball Park. First pitch is set for 6:40 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Orioles vs. Reds odds with MLB picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting since 2017

The O’s have gone 15-5 over their last 20 games to get above .500. They took 3 of 4 games against the Tampa Bay Rays in their last series and are just 3 games out of the final AL Wild Card spot. OF Anthony Santander leads the team with 17 homers and 52 RBIs.

One domino has fallen — and several more are likely to follow — as the Reds traded OF Tyler Naquin to the New York Mets Thursday. The Reds have been scrappy with an 11-9 mark over their last 20 contests as they have received great starting pitching of late. Before Thursday’s bullpen implosion, the Reds had allowed just 10 runs in their last 4 games.

Orioles at Reds projected starters

RHP Kyle Bradish vs. LHP Mike Minor

The rookie Bradish (1-4, 7.38 ERA) makes his 11th start. He has a 1.77 WHIP, 3.5 BB/9 and 8.9 K/9 in 46 1/3 IP.

  • Has allowed 4 ER or more in 6 of his last 9 starts
  • In 3 road starts, has a 9.00 ERA and 1.62 WHIP vs. a 6.75 ERA and 1.83 WHIP in 7 home starts

Minor (1-7, 6.65 ERA) makes his 10th start. He has a 1.61 WHIP, 3.7 BB/9 and 8.0 K/9 in 46 IP.

  • Equally as bad at home as the road: 6.75 ERA and 1.50 WHIP at home (30 2/3 IP) vs. 6.46 ERA and 1.83 WHIP on road (15 1/3 IP)
  • Holding lefties to a .193/.246/.386 slash line this year

Orioles at Reds picks and predictions

Prediction

Orioles 7, Reds 5

Money line

The O’s are playing well, the Reds are tearing it down as the trade deadline nears and Cincinnati’s starter has been atrocious this year.

I’m comfortable with the ORIOLES (-125) on the ML. Cincinnati has the worst bullpen ERA at 5.21, while Baltimore is 3rd-best with a 3.01 ERA.

I also like OVER 4.5 TOTAL RUNS FIRST 5 INNINGS (-145).

Run line/Against the spread

The Orioles’ last 8 wins have been by more than 1 run. They’re also 64-35 on the RL for the season, including 30-20 RL on the road. If you’re down with the O’s taking this game, you should be good with the RL.

TAKE ORIOLES -1.5 (+125).

Over/Under

Baltimore is 7-3 O/U over the last 10, and Cincinnati is 6-4. The forecast calls for the wind to be blowing out to left-center at 12 mph. Both starters have over 6.00 ERAs.

This O/U line should be higher. Let’s take OVER 9.5 (-110).
