Pittsburgh has seemingly taken over D.C. ahead of Week 10 matchup

Fans of the Black and Gold seem ready to outnumber the Burgundy and Yellow, potentially forcing a silent count in Washington for Week 10.

Fans of the Black and Gold have arrived in droves in the nation’s capital to represent their Pittsburgh Steelers as they take on the Washington Commanders in Week 10.

It seems that no matter where the Steelers travel—Las Vegas, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Denver, or perhaps even the moon—Steelers Nation shows up in astonishing numbers.

Ahead of the Week 10 contest, a video circulating on social media highlights the potential impact Pittsburgh fans could have on what should have been a tough road game for the Steelers.  Adding fuel to this passionate fire is the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins defeating the Washington Capitals on Friday.

Will Steelers fans be able to outnumber Commanders fans, forcing the home team to work off a silent count for the majority of the contest? Pittsburgh could use the extra support as they face a very formidable Commanders team in a game that could set the tone for the second half of the 2024 season.

Seahawks honored to play in the 1st-ever NFL game in Germany

Coach Pete Carroll and the Seattle Seahawks are honored to be one of two teams to play in the first-ever NFL game in Germany this week.

The Seattle Seahawks will be one of two teams to play in the first-ever NFL regular-season game in Germany when they square off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 10 at Allianz Arena in Munich.

Coach Pete Carroll talked about the magnitude of the opportunity on Monday.

“Sure, and again, I’ll throw this number around, somebody said that there have been three million requests for tickets, which is a staggering number of requests,” Carroll said. “I can’t imagine, but they are excited, they are really pumped up about it. We are going to try and put on a show, make them see our football, and experience it in a way they never have before.

“It’s an honor to do that and we will respect the heck out of every aspect of this.”

As far as travel goes, the Seahawks are set to cross 34 time zones this year when they fly 29,446 miles throughout the 2022 season. Carroll is counting on the previous experience gained from the 2018 matchup in London, for reference.

We have a big travel thing to endure, but so do they,” Carroll explained. “It’s a bit of a competition in that regard, to put all of the elements that it takes to get this whole thing on the move, transfer us to a new country, and figure it out. We have such a great group around us and people that can function so well together and they are so well organized that it’s not going to be a big deal.

“We are just going to play another away game.”

The Seahawks plan to hit the road following Wednesday’s practice.

Why Seattle’s Week 4 game in Miami could be toughest on Seahawks slate

The Seattle Seahawks were dealt a fairly favorable schedule for the 2020 NFL season, but their Week-4 matchup in Miami could be challenging.

The National Football League revealed the 2020 NFL regular-season schedule last week, assuming sports will be able to be played starting the fall. The Seahawks were dealt a fairly favorable schedule, which includes four prime-time games, three of which will be played at home.

However, it could be one of the more surprising earlier games that could prove the most challenging for Seattle this season. Mark Schofield of Touchdown Wire reasons the Dolphins matchup in Week 4 might be the thorn in the Seahawks’ side.

“Their schedule is not without some difficult games,” Schofield writes. “They’ll face some tough games in the division, and also trips east to play the Buffalo Bills and the Washington Redskins. But it is a trip east in early October that might actually be their toughest game of all: The Miami Dolphins.”

“Sure, it sounds a bit crazy, given the Dolphins’ record a season ago, but early fall games in South Beach are no joke, and the heat and humidity can still cause an impact on visitors,” Schofield continues. “Sure, the Dolphins might not be the toughest test on paper, but when you factor in the likely conditions, this might add up to the biggest challenge the Seahawks face in 2020.”

The Seahawks will travel more miles than any other team in the league in 2020 and their farthest trip of the season just might prove to be the most disappointing of the year.
