A Nebraska volleyball player has been named the AVCA/GameChanger National Player of the Week. Opposite hitter Merritt Beason won the award after winning the Big Ten Player of the Week on Monday, the third time she had won the league award this season.

Beason is the first Husker to win the National Player of the Week since Annika Albrecht in 2017. In victories over Northwestern and Wisconsin, Beason averaged 4.25 kills per set, 1.75 digs per set, and five blocks with two aces.

Nebraska currently holds a record of 19-0 overall and is currently ranked as the No. 1 team in the AVCA Coaches Poll. The Huskers will next take the floor against Maryland on Friday at 7:00 p.m. CT.
