Auburn to host 2026 CB Nassir McCoy this weekend

The Buford, Georgia native will kick off his round of spring visits on March 16 by visiting Auburn.

One of the most popular prospects from the class of 2026 will kick off his round of spring visits this weekend by taking a trip to Auburn.

According to a report by On3’s Chad Simmons, 2026 cornerback [autotag]Nassir McCoy[/autotag] will be on campus this weekend, his first of the spring. McCoy has also scheduled visits to Alabama, Ohio State, Tennessee, LSU, Georgia, Texas, and Oregon before the calendar rolls over to May.

Due to his age, McCoy has not received a ranking from any recruiting outlets. However, his offer list is respectable despite having two seasons of high school eligibility remaining. The front runners so far for McCoy’s signature are Alabama and Georgia. McCoy is intrigued by Alabama’s development of defensive backs while Georgia is McCoy’s favorite college team. It helps that his cousin, five-star safety [autotag]KJ Bolden[/autotag], recently signed with the Bulldogs.

McCoy, a 6-0, 180-pound safety, was ninth in tackles last season for Buford High School He racked up 38 total tackles with three for a loss. He also recorded two interceptions and deflected a pass.

Auburn is back in the hunt for four-star WR Devin Carter

Carter recently backed off his pledge to Florida State, and Auburn has the chance to capitalize.

Florida State‘s loss has the potential to be Auburn’s gain.

Four-star wide receiver [autotag]Devin Carter[/autotag] backed off his pledge to Florida State in January. Auburn is among the programs that have the chance to capitalize on the opportunity.

Carter, a native of Augusta, Georgia, recently broke down his top schools with On3’s Chad Simmons. Carter says that he is still considering Florida State as his college destination, but is also taking a look at several SEC programs including Auburn. His relationship with wide receivers coach [autotag]Marcus Davis[/autotag] is one of several reasons Carter is considering Auburn.

“I was at Auburn for the Iron Bowl and it is about relationships with them. Coach Marcus Davis is a great coach and I have a great relationship with him. He is a cool coach, I see Auburn coming up as a program and I like the way (head) coach (Hugh) Freeze and coach Davis are working there.”

Carter is also considering Alabama, Georgia, LSU, and Clemson. He has scheduled a visit to Clemson but is working on setting up more. Carter is the No. 4 wide receiver for the 2026 cycle and is the No. 5 overall recruit from Georgia.

Four-star OT Tavaris Dice names Auburn his favorite, sets commitment timeline

Auburn is the program to beat for the No. 22 overall OT from the 2025 class.

Auburn has become the favorite to land four-star OT [autotag]Tavaris Dice[/autotag] by multiple recruiting outlets, and Dice’s feelings toward Auburn are mutual.

In a recent interview with Phillip Dukes of On3, the offensive tackle from Fairburn, Georgia said that Auburn is his top school after taking several visits to the Plains since last September. However, Auburn has not locked Dice in yet, as several programs are beginning to sway his mindset away from the Plains.

“Now I feel like I’ve got some contenders that are trying to compete for that spot, for that first place spot,” Dice said. “You know, Auburn, they’re number one for me right now, but there are a lot of schools trying to take that spot from them right now. I’m getting a lot of big calls from different places.”

Florida, Florida State, Missouri, and Miami (FL.) are the other schools working to earn his signature, and he has set visits for Florida State and Miami for later this month. After that, he plans to announce his commitment.

“I think I’m going to move it up to April,” Dice said of his commitment timeline. “I am getting a lot of big calls and everybody is trying to take that spot. Everybody is competing now. So, I feel like after that camp, it really helped me a lot. Now, people are really seeing.”

Dice is looking for a program that he can immediately contribute to. He tells Dukes that he hopes to earn a Freshman All-America honor as well as other accolades during his first season on campus. Dice is a 6-6, 275-pound offensive tackle from Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn, Georgia. He is the No. 22 offensive tackle from the 2025 cycle and is the No. 33 recruit from Georgia.

Auburn target Husan Longstreet sets commitment date

The four-star QB will choose between Auburn and seven other programs next month.

One of the nation’s top quarterbacks from the 2025 recruiting cycle is counting down the days until he announces his college destination and Auburn is among the eight programs still in the running.

According to Hayes Fawcett of On3, four-star quarterback [autotag]Husan Longstreet[/autotag] will choose between Auburn, Oregon, UCLA, Michigan, Texas A&M, Miami, Ole Miss, and Louisville on April 14.

Auburn joined Longstreet’s recruitment journey late but has skyrocketed in value. [autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag] and company offered Longstreet late last year, which caused Longstreet to schedule a spring visit to the Plains.

According to On3’s Recruiting Machine, Texas A&M is the school to beat for Longstreet’s commitment as they hold a 98% chance to land him. Steve Wiltfong and Andrew Hattersley of 247Sports shares the same sentiment as On3 regarding Longstreet’s possible college destination, as they have submitted Crystal Ball predictions in favor of Mike Elko and the Aggies.

Freeze and the rest of his staff have the chance to change Longstreet’s recruitment journey by hosting him for a visit on March 23.

Five-star forward AJ Dybantsa is on campus for Auburn’s game vs. Mississippi State

Will Auburn and the Jungle impress the No. 1 recruit in the nation on Saturday?

Auburn basketball is playing a key SEC game Saturday against Mississippi State and the top recruit of the 2025 cycle will be in the building to witness the game firsthand.

Jeffrey Lee of Auburn Live reports that [autotag]AJ Dybantsa[/autotag], a five-star guard from Prolific Prep in Windsor, California by way of Needham, Massachusetts, is on campus to watch the Tigers take on the Bulldogs at Neville Arena. According to Lee, Dybantsa arrived Friday and plans to stay through Sunday.

Dybantsa is the unanimous No. 1 overall recruit for the 2025 class, as all four major recruiting outlets (On3, 247Sports, ESPN, Rivals) have him at the top. Dybantsa is classified as a forward but wants to transition to a guard in college. He tells On3’s Jamie Shaw that Auburn has a great chance of developing him into the type of guard he wants to be.

“(Auburn is) a guard school and I want to be a guard,” Dybantsa said. “If they can get me the guard skills that I want, it would be a good fit. I feel like I can playmake. If I can get a couple of people around me that can shoot and a couple of bigs, that could open up a lot more for everyone.”

According to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, Auburn holds a slight edge over USC by holding a 46.7% chance of earning his signature. This weekend’s visit will go a long way in boosting the Tigers’ odds of landing him, as they are battling USC and Kentucky on the recruiting trail for Dybantsa.

Auburn football will begin this week, and they will have several members of its No. 7 ranked 2024 recruiting class joining them.

Signees such as wide receivers [autotag]Perry Thompson[/autotag] and [autotag]Malcolm Simmons[/autotag] will enroll this summer, but the Tigers will still have the likes of [autotag]Cam Coleman[/autotag], [autotag]Walker White[/autotag], [autotag]Joseph Phillips[/autotag], and [autotag]Demarcus Riddick[/autotag] on campus to go through spring exercises and to get ahead start to their college careers.

Ahead of the start of spring practices, Auburn football revealed the numbers that each early enrollee will wear during their first season on the Plains. Here is a look at which 2024 signees will participate in spring practice, as well as the number they will be representing on their jerseys.

Five-star QB Julian Lewis schedules Auburn visit

Lewis, a USC pledge, is the No. 2 quarterback from the 2025 recruiting class according to On3’s industry rankings.

Five-star quarterback [autotag]Julian Lewis[/autotag] is a hard USC commit, but he still plans to pay a visit to several schools this spring.

Chad Simmons of On3 reports that Lewis, the No. 2 QB from the 2025 class, will visit five schools this spring. Auburn is among those on the docket. Auburn is the third school that Lewis will visit this spring, and will do so on March 16.

This will be the third visit that Lewis has taken to Auburn according to On3. He visited the Plains for Auburn’s game against Georgia last September and returned in January. He tells Jeffrey Lee of Auburn Live that he is impressed with how Auburn has competed since [autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag] took over as head coach, and likes the idea of potentially throwing passes to five-star signee [autotag]Cam Coleman[/autotag].

“You have to have guys to throw the ball to. Kids like Cam Coleman and people like that you can get the rock to,” Lewis said in an interview with Auburn Live. “That is our job at the end of the day, so that is definitely something to look at.”

Lewis will begin his spring tour on March 8 by visiting Alabama. He will also stop by Georgia, Colorado, and USC by the end of March.

Auburn among top programs in race to land 2026 DL Vodney Cleveland

Auburn is one of four SEC programs that the talented DL from Prattville is seriously considering.

Auburn is looking to boost its 2026 recruiting haul by pursuing a talented in-state defensive lineman.

[autotag]Vodney Cleveland[/autotag], a 6-3, 295-pound defensive lineman from Prattville, has caught the eyes of several SEC programs, including Auburn. Cleveland has visited Auburn three times, and Auburn coaches stopped by his high school last month.

Auburn is one of four SEC programs that are at the front of the pack when it comes to the recruitment of Cleveland, joining Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee. Auburn is currently the frontrunner to land Cleveland according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, which gives the Tigers a 49.3% chance to earn his commitment.

Cleveland tells Chad Simmons of On3 that Auburn “feels like home,” and that he likes what he sees from the program so far.

“What they have going on there is that they’re trying to build the program,” Cleveland said in an interview with On3.

Cleveland recently competed in the Under Armour combine in Carrollton, Georgia. There, he impressed 247Sports’ Rian Young, who included him in his “standout trench performers” of the combine.

Vodney Cleveland is a player in the trenches that I was glad to see in person. This 6-foot-3, 295-pound stud from Prattville High School in Alabama that college coaches need to go ahead and pay attention to. He caught my attention when they were doing the 40-yard dash and running drills. This young man can really move. He was also dominant in the 1v1 session. There are not a lot of offensive linemen that are going to be able to keep this dude in front of them. He is a beast that knows how to use his hands and athletic ability to be unstoppable in the trenches.

Due to his age, he has not received a rating from major recruiting services. Outside of Auburn, Cleveland has received offers from programs such as Miami, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, and UCF.

Cam Coleman poised to make an immediate impact at Auburn

Manny Navarro of The Athletic believes that Coleman will quickly turn heads as a true freshman.

Auburn football hopes to make great offensive strides in 2024, and true freshman [autotag]Cam Coleman[/autotag] could be a main component in its progression.

Writers at The Athletic recently shared their thoughts on the 2024 SEC recruiting haul, and which players could turn heads quickly. When asked to reveal his pick for the player who could make the biggest impact, Manny Navarro chose Auburn’s top signee.

I wanted to go with (Ryan) Williams at Alabama because of the Crimson Tide’s need for help at the position, but he’s not enrolling until this summer. So, I’m going with another five-star receiver already on campus: Auburn’s Cam Coleman. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound Phenix City, Ala., native could quickly become Payton Thorne’s favorite target this coming season as the Tigers look to open up the offense under new coordinator Derrick Nix, who helped run a top-20 scoring and passing offense at Ole Miss last season.

Grace Raynor feels that Coleman will also have a great season, citing his performance during Under Armour All-American practices. Raynor ultimately chose Tennessee‘s Mike Matthews while Ari Wasserman is expecting Texas‘ Ryan Wingo to make the biggest impact in the SEC.

Coleman signed with Auburn as the No. 2 wide receiver in the 2024 class and as the top recruit from the state of Alabama from nearby Phenix City. He, along with [autotag]Perry Thompson[/autotag], [autotag]Bryce Cain[/autotag], and [autotag]Malcolm Simmons[/autotag] make up the top wide receiver signing class in Auburn history.
