Michigan State safety gifted $40,000, trip to Disney, and car from Good Morning America

Good Morning America hooked up Armorion Smith and his family in a big way

At this point, I would think most people reading this know the story of Armorion Smith, the Michigan State football safety who has taken custody of his siblings after his family lost their mom this year. This week, Armorion was on Good Morning America, and they did some pretty awesome stuff for him and his family.

Host Michael Strahan showed Smith and his brother Armon a number of generous gifts, which included $40,000, a fully covered trip to Disney Land, and a brand new SUV. It was a great moment for someone who really deserved it.

Michigan State football safety named an FWAA Capital One Orange Bowl Courage Award nominee

Armorion Smith rightfully makes the nominees list for the Courage Award

If there is one person on the Michigan State football team who embodies courage, it’s safety Armorion Smith. Smith lost his mother this year and has since taken over custody of his four younger siblings while playing football full-time with the Spartans.

For his courage, Armorion Smith has been named a nominee for the FWAA Capital One Orange Bowl Courage Award.

This would be one of the most deserving awards a Spartan has ever won.

Michigan State football lands Cincinnati transfer safety Armorion Smith

Michigan State lands Cincinnati transfer and Detroit native Armorion Smith

After missing out on the commitment of Detroit native Armorion Smith back in 2021, Michigan State football is finally getting the former River Rouge safety on the roster, as Smith announced that he is transferring to the Spartans on Twitter on Friday night.

Smith was a former 3-star recruit, who has spent the last two seasons, one as a redshirt, with the University of Cincinnati. Of course, former Cincinnati coach Luke Fickell left this offseason and is now the head coach at Wisconsin, and Smith is now following his former coach to the Big Ten.

Smith was mostly a special teams player, as well as a backup safety, for the Bearcats last season. He recorded 20 tackles and one interception for Cincinnati.

This is a nice pickup by the Spartans, who needed some depth and experience behind projected starting safeties Malik Spencer and Jaden Mangham.
