Michigan falls out of latest AP Top 25 poll after losing to Indiana

Michigan football falls out of the AP Top 25 poll after losing to Indiana yesterday. What can the Wolverines do to get back into the poll?

[jwplayer oJbneJEJ-XNcErKyb]

After starting the 2020 season ranked inside the top 25, Michigan football has fallen completely outside of the rankings. Getting a win over Minnesota pushed Michigan inside the top 15. A loss to Michigan State pushed the Wolverines down the polls, but yesterday’s loss to Indiana knocked the Wolverines completely out of the rankings itself.

Michigan doesn’t have a chance to reach the Big Ten Championship game or the College Football Playoff, so the best they can do is to try and win games and get ranked as high as they can before the season ends. Michigan will have to get a big win before they can reappear in the AP poll, and with a game against Wisconsin next week, a victory would certainly do that.

Check out the latest poll below.

Oklahoma rises to No. 19 in AP Poll Top 25

The Oklahoma Sooners have risen to No. 19 in the AP Poll after their dominant win over Texas Tech in Lubbock Saturday night.

Oklahoma hammered Texas Tech Saturday night in Lubbock by the wide margin of 62-28.

After climbing back into the AP Poll Top 25 last week at No. 24 following their win over TCU, this blowout victory has the Sooners jumping five more spots up to No. 19.

Sitting at the top of the rankings remains the Clemson Tigers after they narrowly escaped a home loss to Boston College – albeit without their star quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

Following Clemson in the top five is Alabama, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Georgia.

Other Big 12 teams in the rankings include Oklahoma State at No. 14, Iowa State at No. 17, and Texas at No. 22.

Kansas State fell out of the top 25 after their loss to West Virginia on Saturday, and now are the seventh-highest team receiving votes of teams outside the rankings.

Next up for Oklahoma is a home date next Saturday afternoon with the Kansas Jayhawks.

Longhorns back in the AP Poll after Texas upset Oklahoma State

Despite not making it into the Amway Coaches Poll, the AP Poll put the Texas Longhorns back into the top 25 after Saturday’s upset win.

The AP Poll has been released following the wild week nine over the weekend. The Oklahoma State Cowboys were the highest ranked team to fall but the Michigan Wolverines loss to Michigan State was also a big shock to some. Texas didn’t find themselves in the Amway Coaches Poll this week but the AP Poll is a different animal entirely.

The Big 12 Conference’s highest ranked team remains the Oklahoma State Cowboys who check in at No. 14. Next in the pecking order comes Iowa State, Oklahoma then Texas. The Kansas State Wildcats dropped from the poll after West Virginia pummeled them 37-10.

Michigan falls down far in latest AP Top 25 poll after upsetting loss to Michigan State

Michigan football fell down the AP Top 25 poll after it was upset by an unranked Michigan State team. How far did they end up falling?

[jwplayer gSlNmwGc-XNcErKyb]

Michigan was able to jump the polls last week with its performance and with upsets happening. This week, it’s on its way down after being upset by Michigan State at home, losing 27-24. Michigan’s loss is a huge knock to them, possibly eliminating them from the playoff talk unless they can rebound and win out, which seems impossible.

Luckily for the Wolverines, they weren’t the only team upset by an unranked opponent this week. With that news, they might not fall as far as originally expected. Still, the loss only means the road will become harder for Michigan, and out of all of the games to lose, this wasn’t one of them that they could afford. Check out the latest poll below.

Where does LSU stand in the AP Top 25 Poll after this week?

Despite moving to 2-2 on the season after defeating South Carolina 52-24 on Saturday, LSU remains out of the AP Top 25 poll for Week 8.

Following a 52-24 win over the South Carolina Gamecocks, the LSU Tigers (2-2) remain outside the AP Top 25.

The Tigers’ two losses to Mississippi State and Missouri continue to keep the team from being ranked.

Couple that with two wins over Vanderbilt and South Carolina, who have just one two wins combined, and the Tigers’ strength of schedule hasn’t been of enough to push them back into the rankings.

LSU travels to Auburn next Saturday to take on the 3-2 Auburn Tigers in what will be a crucial must-win game for the Tigers. Here, a could potentially push LSU back into the Top 25 next week.
