Ohio State basketball makes big move in latest AP College Basketball Poll

After a win at Nebraska, and a home win against a ranked Michigan team, Ohio State has made a move in the latest AP Top 25 Poll.

The Ohio State basketball team keeps winning, and as a result, keeps moving up the national polls. The Associated Press College Basketball Poll was released Monday and the Buckeyes have moved up from No. 23 to No. 19 after wins at Nebraska and at home against a ranked Michigan squad.

The Big Ten continues to have five teams ranked in the poll. Maryland is the highest-rated team at No. 9, followed by Michigan State (16), Iowa (18), and Michigan just inside the poll at No. 25.

After a January to forget, Ohio State has now won eight of its last 10 to move from 2-6 in the Big Ten, to 10-8 and has solidified its spot far away from NCAA Tournament bubble territory.

The top ten in the AP Poll are Kansas (1), Gonzaga (2), Dayton (3), Baylor (4), San Diego State (5), Kentucky (6), Florida State (7), Seton Hall (8), Maryland (9), and Louisville (10).

Ohio State basketball falls way down in latest AP poll

Ohio State has slid way down in the latest AP College Basketball Top 25 Poll, but how far?

It was bound to happen. After being just one day away from being ranked No. 1 in the polls, the Ohio State basketball team has now lost four games in a row and continued its slide down the polls. First, it was outside the top five, then outside the top ten, and now, in the latest AP College Basketball Top 25 Poll that was released, the Buckeyes have slid out of the top twenty, all the way down to No. 21.

I guess you could say at least the team is still ranked, especially after what we’ve seen so far in the calendar year of 2020. OSU is now winless since all the confetti fell on New Year’s night. It is 0-4 and searching for ways to take care of the basketball and find its shooting groove again.

So what’s the rest of the top twenty-five look like? It’s a revolving door of sorts, but here’s where everything stands courtesy of the official twitter feed of March Madness.

Gonzaga, Baylor, Duke, Auburn, and Butler make up your top five. The highest ranked Big Ten team is Michigan State all the way down at No. 15.

Ohio State drops in latest AP Top 25 College Basketball Poll

The Ohio State basketball team has fallen outside the top ten in the latest AP Top 25 College Basketball Poll.

The Ohio State basketball team has lost three of its last five games, the latest to an unranked Wisconsin team at home in the Schott. Issues with shot selection and turnovers have begun to plague the team and the result has been a bit of a come back to planet Earth moment for the squad after a hot start to the season.

With some cracks beginning to appear, the rankings in the college basketball polls are also starting to fall. On that note, the latest AP Top 25 College Basketball Poll is out and the Buckeyes have dropped from No. 5, all the way outside the top ten to No. 11.

The top ten in the new poll consists of Gonzaga (1), Duke (2), Kansas (3), Baylor (4), Auburn (5), Butler (6), San Diego State (7), Michigan State (8), Oregon (9) and Florida State (10).

Joining Ohio State from the Big Ten are the aforementioned Michigan State, as well as Maryland (12), Michigan (19), and Penn State (20).
