We are now just 53 days away from the start of Alabama’s 2023 football season!
The Alabama Crimson Tide will take the field for the 2023 college football season in 53 days, as Middle Tennessee State visits Bryant Denny Stadium on Sept. 2.
Here at Roll Tide Wire, we will be counting down the days until Nick Saban and his team take the field.
No. 53 has not been an all-too-popular number lately for the Crimson Tide and there isn’t a scholarship player on Alabama’s current roster that wears No. 53. Today, with 53 days remaining we will go back to a decade ago when defensive lineman Anthony Orr wore No. 53.
Orr played for the Crimson Tide from 2009-2014 logging just a total of four tackles.
The return of college football is quickly approaching, folks. After yet another national championship winning season, Nick Saban and company will be looking for a repeat performance in 2021.
Despite key losses, the Crimson Tide is well positioned to do just that.
The opening week matchup is against the Miami Hurricanes in Atlanta, Ga. set for Sept. 4. And with it now being July 13, we are now only 53 days away from the start of the season!
No one is wearing the No. 53 for Alabama this season. Last year, it was walk-on linebacker Matthew Barnhill from Woodway, Texas, but he is no longer listed on the roster.
The No. 53 hasn’t been a popular number to wear — at least not during the Saban era. Former outside linebacker/defensive end Anthony Orr wore the number from 2009-14, but he’s been the only scholarship player to wear it.
