Seattle lost three of its final four games to fall out of first place in the NFC West, with all three of those losses coming to division opponents. The Seahawks regular-season finale saw the team lose a tight 26-21 game to the San Francisco 49ers with the division title on the line. Seattle fell behind 13-0 but stormed back to be within one score of the victory. The Seahawks final drive ended in a turnover on downs inside the one-yard line, with mere inches the difference between their hosting a first round game and having to go to Philadelphia. To win this game, the Seahawks will need Russell Wilson to play like the MVP candidate he has been all season, with his 31 touchdowns and five interceptions both being top-three marks in the NFL this year.

The Eagles, meanwhile, won each of their final four games of the season against division opponents to claim the NFC East championship. Their win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 16 all but clinched them the division, with their victory over the New York Giants in Week 17 sealing the deal. Despite numerous injuries to offensive skill position players, the Eagles have found a way to get back into the playoffs, thanks to unheralded players such as backup running back Boston Scott stepping up on a regular basis. Scott’s 138 total yards and three rushing touchdowns in the team’s last game against the Giants helped seal the division title.
