Every UFC newcomer in 2024: Full list of over 100 debuting fighters

Check out the names and records of each fighter who made their UFC debut in 2024.

Every year, the UFC welcomes new faces to the promotion.

Some will become ranked fighters, future title challengers, and possibly champions. A couple of names have already made a significant impact in their debut year.

Kayla Harrison, who is ranked No. 2 by the promotion in the women’s bantamweight division, is likely next up for a title shot. Carlos Prates claimed No. 14 in the welterweight division after ripping through four opponents.

On the flip side, unfortunately, some of the names will fizzle out and look to continue their careers in other promotions.

In 2024, the new names and faces reached triple digits, totaling 103. Those fighters went 46-57. Debuting fighters who faced an opponent with at least one bout of UFC experience went 29-39.

LAS VEGAS – Fighters from Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 242 event took home UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance pay totaling $157,500.

The program, a comprehensive plan that includes outfitting requirements, media obligations and other items under the fighter code of conduct, replaces the previous payments made under the UFC Athlete Outfitting Policy.

UFC Fight Night 242 took place at the UFC Apex. The entire card streamed on ESPN+.

Under the UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance program’s payout tiers, which appropriate the money generated by Venum’s multi-year sponsorship with the UFC, fighters are paid based on their total number of UFC bouts, as well as Zuffa-era WEC fights (January 2007 and later) and Zuffa-era Strikeforce bouts (April 2421 and later). Fighters with 1-3 bouts receive $4,000 per appearance; 4-5 bouts get $4,500; 6-10 bouts get $6,000; 11-15 bouts earn $11,000; 16-20 bouts pocket $16,000; and 21 bouts and more get $21,000. Additionally, champions earn $42,000 while title challengers get $32,000.

In addition to experience-based pay, UFC fighters will receive in perpetuity royalty payments amounting to 20-30 percent of any UFC merchandise sold that bears their likeness, according to officials.

Mitch Raposo steps into UFC 302 for debut vs. Andre Lima

Top prospect Mitch Raposo has signed with the UFC and will debut June 1 in Newark, N.J. at UFC 302.

[autotag]Mitch Raposo[/autotag] can now call himself a UFC fighter.

On less than two weeks notice, Raposo (9-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) will step in opposite [autotag]Andre Lima[/autotag] (8-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) at UFC 302, which takes place June 1 at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.

Raposo replaces [autotag]Nyamjargal Tumendemberel[/autotag] (8-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC), who withdrew from the fight due to visa issues.

Two people with knowledge of the matchup recently informed MMA Junkie of the booking but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.

Raposo, 25, is “The Ultimate Fighter 29” alumnus who also appeared on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2021. Raposo dropped his DWCS bout to Jake Hadley by unanimous decision, but regained momentum once he revisited the regional scene with four wins, four finishes, and two title clinches for CES MMA and Cage Titans.

Lima, 25, was quickly rebooked after a victorious and bizarre promotional debut in March during which his opponent Igor Severino bit him and was disqualified. Severino was cut from the UFC as a result and later apologized. Lima tattooed the bite mark on his arm hours after the fight, but also advocated Severino should get a second chance.

Video: HyunSung Park out of UFC 302 after accident in gym leads to knee ligament rupture

In an MMA gym, it’s important to know where everyone else around you is – as exemplified by this injury-inducing accident.

Flyweight [autotag]HyunSung Park[/autotag] won’t fight at UFC 302 after he suffered an injury during a recent training session.

Tuesday, Park (9-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) announced his withdrawal from the June 1 event at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. and shared a video of how he sustained the injury in the gym. Park revealed he suffered a torn knee ligament as a result of the accident.

“During the sparring preparation for this UFC 302, I collided with a colleague I trained with from an invisible angle because of the wind,” Park wrote on Instagram. “My knee was pushed too much inward and the internal ligament of my right knee ruptured, so I was unable to get out for this ufc 302. Sorry to everyone who helped this match.”

Park was scheduled to fight [autotag]Andre Lima[/autotag] (8-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) on the prelims. NAC pushes back on proposed Igor Severino punishment for UFC bite, cites ‘unbelievably dangerous’ precedent

The Nevada Athletic Commission did not think the Attorney General’s Office proposed a suspension severe enough for Igor Severino.

All signs have pointed toward punishment for [autotag]Igor Severino[/autotag] since biting his opponent during his UFC debut, but the terms remain up in the air.

The Nevada Athletic Commission voted against an adjudication agreement proposed and presented by the Nevada Attorney General’s Office during a monthly commission meeting Tuesday in Las Vegas.

Deputy attorney general Matthew Feeley revealed a settlement agreement had been reached between his office and Severino’s team for him to serve a six-month suspension retroactive to the March 23 foul and pay $3,314.08, equivalent to 30 percent of his $10,000 show money with legal fees.

“There is very little precedent when it comes to people biting each other in the ring,” Feeley said. “… (Tyson vs. Holyfield) was a little more severe. That one actually took skin off the body. This one I don’t even think caused blood. A lot of consideration went into the incident, and this is obviously something that can’t be tolerated.”

Commissioner Anthony Marnell expressed concerns at the duration of the suspension and said it set a dangerous precedent going forward. The matter was tabled for the next commission meeting on May 31 as the commission intends to lengthen the suspension to a year.

“I guess my concern is that if we approve this, we set a precedent at six months for this type of behavior and then it’s in our record, and that’s kind of how we have to roll going forward,” Marnell said. “I’m not in favor of the six months. What the UFC does is what the UFC does. That’s the promotion’s issue. He can get picked up by Bellator. But if we say, ‘Now you can bite somebody in the ring and only get six months off, which is basically nothing … it’s like a fighter only has two fights a year anyway. He doesn’t miss anything. There is zero penalty here, other than three grand.”

“… The bigger issue is the precedent we set going forward. If it happens again, you’re stuck at six months. That is unbelievably dangerous for this commission. That’s my opinion. You guys can all vote how you want.”

Severino’s representation attempted to join the meeting via teleconference but entered after the agenda item had passed and were denied from commenting.

Severino, 21, was immediately released from the promotion after he chomped the left tricep of [autotag]Andre Lima[/autotag] at UFC on ESPN 53 at the UFC Apex. The fight had been competitive up until the point of the foul, for which Severino was disqualified by referee Chris Tognoni.

In the week following the incident, Severino apologized profusely during an interview with MMA Junkie. He said he did not understand why he bit Lima and did not remember doing it, a mental lapse he hypothesized could’ve been to a strike absorbed earlier in the fight.

Severino accepted responsibility for the foul. Emotional, Severino also revealed he and his family had been threatened online following the incident. Severino expressed hope that he will not be defined by one moment and that the UFC would someday give him a second shot.

Following the incident, Lima publicly defended Severino and made light of the situation by tattooing the bite mark on his arm. The two recently appeared in-person together on a Portuguese-language podcast.
