The New York Giants have several late picks including three in Round 7 of the 2023 NFL draft. They could package some of those picks to move up or they could use them in an effort to find a diamond in the rough.
If they do, one potential option is Ball State cornerback Amechi Uzodinma II.
The Giants kept a watchful eye on Uzodinma during his pro day and have since followed up, reports Tanner Phifer of Sports Illustrated’s The Spun.
Ball State CB, Amechi Uzodinma ll, met with multiple teams at his Pro Day. Since his Pro Day, the #Chargers, #Raiders, #Dolphins, #Colts, #Giants, #Saints, #Texans, and #Commanders have followed up.

Uzodinma is a projected late-round pick or priority undrafted free agent, which puts him right in the Giants’ wheelhouse.
Over five seasons at Ball State, Uzodinma appeared in 52 games, recording 171 tackles (four for a loss), two forced fumbles, one sack, 34 passes defensed, and 10 interceptions.
At the NFL level, Uzodinma will have to improve his footwork but his physical nature and non-stop motor will appeal to teams.
Here’s what Tony Pauline of Pro Football Network had to say about Uzodinma:
Uzodinma is a prospect I’ve been watching the past four seasons since his brilliant 2019 campaign. Though he hasn’t shown much improvement in his game, Uzodinma possesses the size and skill necessary to get consideration in a scheme that backs him off the line of scrimmage or has him facing the action.
Uzodinma is certainly a name to watch out for on Saturday.
