Spartans offer legacy stud 4-star 2027 linebacker

Michigan State football is looking to once again tap into the Irvin family for another star player

Michigan State football is looking to once again tap into the Irvin family for another star.

Four-star linebacker Amarri Irvin announced on Monday that he’s received an offer from the Spartans. Irvin is the son of Michigan State legend running back Sedrick Irvin.

Irvin is ranked as the No. 4 linebacker in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2027 class. He’s also listed as the No. 5 player from Florida and No. 66 overall prospect in the class.

Michigan State is one of more than 20 programs to offer Irvin, according to 247Sports. He also holds notable offers from Arkansas, Colorado, Duke, Florida, Georgia, Kansas State, Kentucky, Michigan, Louisville, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, SMU, Stanford, Tennessee and Texas.

LSU offers 2027 RB from Georgia

Amarri Irvin plays on both sides of the ball for Woodward Academy in Atlanta.

[autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] is starting on recruiting for his 2027 class. These guys will be sophomores in 2024, but a lot of them made big plays as freshmen last fall. Kelly recently offered a player from Georgia who plays on both sides of the ball.

[autotag]Amarri Irvin[/autotag] is a 5-foot-11, 188-pound athlete from Atlanta where he plays for Woodward Academy. I say that Irvin is an athlete because he plays running back and linebacker. On3 has him listed as a running back, though. The Woodward Academy War Eagles finished the 2023 season 12-3 with a loss to Thomas County Central in the 6A state championship game.

There are currently no Crystal Ball projections at this time for Irvin but Georgia is a 34% favorite to land him per On3.

Film Analysis: Irvin has the talent to get it done on both sides of the ball but his size indicates that he will be a running back at the next level.
