The Packers revealed a new green-and-gold alternate uniform on Thursday. Do you like the new look? Vote in our poll!

The Green Bay Packers have a 1950s inspired alternate uniform for the 2021 season.

The team revealed the look on Thursday morning. The new uniform features Kelly green uniforms, pants and socks, with gold helmets, numbers, letting and striping.

It is a simple but clean look with a touch of historic significance for one of the NFL’s oldest franchises. The green-and-gold alternate replaces recent alternates featuring a navy blue and gold look, inspired by teams from the 1920s and 1930s.

The Packers will wear the uniform at home in Week 7 against Washington.

Here are the Packers’ new alternate uniforms for the 2021 season

The Packers revealed their new alternate, throwback uniform to be worn at a home game during the 2021 season.

The Green Bay Packers revealed a classic 1950’s styled alternate uniform on Thursday morning.

The new look – which will be worn in Week 7 against the Washington Football Team at Lambeau Field – features a slightly different shade of green for the uniform and pants with all gold helmets, gray facemasks, gold numbers and gold striping.

The alternate uniform is based on a look first worn during the early 1950s.

Here are some looks at the uniforms via the pro shop:

The Packers previously wore blue and gold alternates based on teams from the 1920s and 1930s.

The new alternate uniforms are available for purchase at the team’s pro shop.

Could this be a preview of Packers’ new alternate uniforms?

An ambitious Twitter user has followed the breadcrumb trails from the team and delivered an educated guess on what the Green Bay Packers’ new alternate uniforms could look like this year.

An ambitious Twitter user has followed the breadcrumb trails from the team and delivered an educated guess on what the Green Bay Packers’ new alternate uniforms will look like this year.

The team will reveal the uniforms next Thursday, August 19, per president Mark Murphy.

The Twitter user (@TheGPackers) used a few clues to narrow down the options. The Packers are expected to use a uniform with a shade of green while also honoring a previous championship team, providing only a few potential options from past uniform combinations.

The final prediction? A green-and-gold jersey honoring the 1936 championship team.

The mock up is provided in the Twitter thread above.

The helmet would remain gold with stickers removed. The uniform would have gold shoulders and numbers on a green background. And note: the green from the 1936 look is a different shade than the current green, matching Murphy’s own words.

It’s not a revolutionary look, but it’s clean and simple, and as the Twitter user points out, the 1936 team marked the first time the Packers wore green and gold together.

Could this be the new uniform? It certainly looks possible. Would you love it or hate it as the Packers alternate uniform in 2021?

Packers to unveil new throwback jersey on Aug. 19

The throwback uniform for the Green Bay Packers in 2021 will be unveiled by the team on Aug. 19.

The new alternate uniform for the Green Bay Packers will arrive later this month.

Packers president Mark Murphy said the team will unveil the new jerseys on Thursday, Aug. 19.

“The throwback and alternate jersey have become very popular with our fans (and our players love playing in them), and they help highlight our tremendous history,” Murphy wrote in his monthly column at Packers.com.

Little is known about the jersey, although Murphy did say it has a shade of green, and the look is expected to be inspired by a previous championship team from the franchise’s long history.

The Packers did not wear an alternate throwback uniform during the 2020 season. Between 2015 and 2019, the team wore a navy blue and gold throwback uniform inspired by teams from the 1940s. A variation of the look from the 1930s could be possible if the team is using a shade of green.

Check out this fan-made Broncos throwback uniform

The Broncos should consider wearing this throwback uniform!

We’ve seen plenty of fan-made alternate uniform designs for the Broncos that feature the modern Color Rush look with a throwback style. One graphic designer decided to create an alternate concept with even more of a throwback influence.

Vinnie Candelore posted a Photoshopped image of rookie Denver receiver Jerry Jeudy wearing a uniform with a logo dating back to the 1960s on his Instagram page last week. Check it out:

In 1962, the Broncos revamped their uniforms and put a “crazy horse” (or “silly horse”) on the helmet. The team kept that logo from 1962-1967. In 1994, to celebrate the NFL’s 75th season, Denver wore throwback alternate uniforms that featured that logo again. The logo hasn’t been used since then.

These fan-made Broncos uniforms are amazing

These fan-made Broncos uniforms are brilliant!

We’ve seen plenty of fan-made Denver Broncos uniform concepts this offseason, most of them incorporating the team’s throwback helmet.

The best uniform we’ve seen so far wasn’t even made by a Broncos fan. Reddit user “inbar17” a Miami Dolphins fan, posted his concept for Denver’s uniform on the Broncos’ subreddit.

This is brilliant:

The designer said he doesn’t have a website or a social media page to promote — it was simply “a fun side project” for him. He has also created concepts for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Seattle Seahawks and Dolphins.

The Broncos design was generally well-received by fans.

“This is one of the best concepts of seen, and in fact is almost exactly what I’ve been wanting since the Color Rush unis were released,” ReasonablyFree wrote.

Here’s a look at his away concept for Denver:

And here’s a look at his alternate concept:

Unfortunately, these fan-made designs will remain concepts.

Team president/CEO Joe Ellis has said there will be no major uniform changes while he is in charge so don’t expect big tweaks anytime soon.

Broncos fan creates brilliant uniform concept

This fan-made uniform design for the Broncos is amazing!

Garrett Bouton, a graphic artist who attended the University of Colorado and The Art Institute of Vancouver, recently created a brilliant uniform concept for the Denver Broncos. It’s a fan-made design, not one that was commissioned by the team. The design is a mockup made for fun but that hasn’t stopped us from falling in love with the concept.

Bouton shared the concept on his Twitter page, @Garrett_Bouton:

More of Bouton’s amazing work can be seen on his website, GarrettBouton.com. He specializes in 2D and 3D designs.

This isn’t the first time Denver fans have tweaked the team’s Color Rush uniform to create brilliant concepts. Three weeks ago, ThePick6.com shared a similar design on Twitter with a lighter shade of blue.

Broncos fans hoping to see one of these designs be adopted by the team will be disappointed to know that team president/CEO Joe Ellis has said there will be no major uniform changes while he is in charge.

Denver will continue breaking out its Color Rush uniform once a season, though, and graphic designs will continue making cool concepts.

This fan-made throwback Broncos uniform is amazing

A graphic designer created a brilliant potential throwback uniform for the Broncos.

The NFL is considering changing its single-helmet rule in 2021, which could result in the return of several classic throwback uniforms. The Broncos’ throwback “D” logo, for example, doesn’t look quite the same on the current dark blue helmet as it does on the old, baby blue helmet.

If the league starts allowing teams to use more than one helmet in a season, Denver’s true throwback uniforms could return. With that possibility in mind, the graphic designers behind ThePick6.com created mock-ups of throwbacks for the Broncos and three other teams.

That’s pretty awesome.

Our friends at the D-Line Co. liked the idea but they tweaked the uniform to make the blue just a little darker. This also looks sharp:

The Broncos changed their primary jersey color from blue back to orange in 2012 but the team doesn’t have any immediate plans of changing the current logo. Denver does use the old “D” logo for a hybrid Color Rush throwback look, so it’s possible that a true throwback design could emerge in 2021 if the rule change goes through.

Challenge: Design the Packers’ new alternate jersey for 2020 season

Packers Wire is challenging readers to design their own version of the Packers’ new third alternate uniform for the 2020 season.

The Green Bay Packers will have a new, “historic” third uniform for the 2020 season.

Team president Mark Murphy confirmed the Packers will be wearing a different throwback uniform – designed to highlight the team’s decorated history – starting next season.

The Packers have yet to reveal the new uniforms for 2020. As Paul Lukas of UniWatch does from time to time, we here at Packers Wire want to provide our loyal readers with a chance to design the look themselves.

If you have an original, completed design for a new third uniform, send it to zachkruse2@gmail.com. We will compile the designs and publish the best of the best at some point this offseason.

Remember, the new alternate uniform is expected to be a replica of a past look, but we’ll also accept submissions that incorporate modern looks.

To help guide your designs, here’s a quick look back at the Packers’ uniforms of the past:

Good luck, and happy creating!
