Penei Sewell voted the All-NFL right tackle by the PFWA

It’s the first All-NFL nod for Sewell, who also made All-Pro in 2023

Congratulations to Detroit Lions right tackle Penei Sewell. The third-year standout was voted as the All-NFL right tackle by the Professional Football Writers of America (PFWA).

It’s the first All-NFL nod for Sewell. The PFWA only has one player at each individual position on the offensive line honored as All-NFL. Sewell is the only Lions player to make the All-NFL list in 2023. He and 49ers left tackle Trent Williams are the honored offensive tackles. Sewell was also named an All-Pro in 2023.

As a disclaimer, I am a PFWA voter and cast my ballot for Sewell. I also voted for Frank Ragnow at center, Amon-Ra St. Brown as one of the two wide receivers, and Jalen Reeves-Maybin as the special teams core player.

Chiefs players lead the way in PFWA All-NFL, All-AFC teams

The #Chiefs had the most players selected to PFWA’s All-AFC team and tied for the most selected to their All-NFL team.

The Pro Football Writers of America have revealed the first of their annual on-field awards. Accredited writers covering all 32 NFL teams have voted on the PFWA’s All-NFL, All-AFC and All-NFC Teams following the conclusion of the 2022 NFL regular season.

A total of four Kansas City Chiefs players made the All-NFL team, which is tied with the San Francisco 49ers for the most by a single team. This comes a season after they had no players make the All-NFL team. They were also well-represented on the All-AFC team, with a total of six players selected, the most by any single AFC team.

Here’s a look at the players who landed on each All-Pro team:

What an all-UGA NFL team would look like for 2022 season

What an all-UGA NFL team would look like for the 2022 season…

The Georgia Bulldogs broke the record for most players selected in the NFL draft when they had 15 players taken during April’s event.

After the historic draft, Georgia now has 59 players on NFL teams, meaning it has more than enough to fill an entire 53-man roster.

With all these fresh faces entering the league, it got us wondering….what would an all-UGA NFL team look like? Well, it would be loaded with talent, especially at the linebacker position, where Roquan Smith would lead a ferocious defense that’s littered with first-round draft picks. On offense, it would be Matthew Stafford and Nick Chubb’s team, with a really solid line in front of them.

There’s a few guys you may be surprised to see are not on this list, and that’s because they are currently not on an NFL roster. Some of those names include safeties Shawn Williams and Maurice Smith, wide receiver Riley Ridley, tight end Isaac Nauta, and linebacker Davin Bellamy (USFL).

Here’s a look at what an all-UGA NFL team would look like:

3 Chiefs players named to PFWA All-AFC Team, none to All-NFL Team

3 #Chiefs players made the PFWA’s All-AFC Team, but none were selected for the All-NFL Team (and that might be a good omen).

The Pro Football Writers of America have revealed the first of their annual on-field awards. Accredited writers covering all 32 NFL teams have voted on the PFWA’s All-NFL, All-AFC and All-NFC Teams following the conclusion of the 2021 NFL regular season. A total of three Kansas City Chiefs players made the All-AFC Team. However, despite being one of just four teams remaining in the playoffs, no Chiefs players were voted into the All-NFL Team.

Here’s a look at the three players for K.C. who made the All-AFC team, plus a little insight into why no Chiefs landed on the All-NFL Team (and why it might be a good thing):
