Alabama reportedly pushing for top Auburn commit after Iron Bowl win

Alabama is reportedly pushing for an Auburn commit after defeating the Tigers last Saturday.

When it comes to the Iron Bowl, the impacts of the result extend well beyond the field of play, and one area that you certainly see that is in recruiting.

The Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers consistently battle for many of the top prospects in-state every year, and 2024 is certainly no different.

When taking a look at this year’s in-state class as well, there are numerous prospects that rank among the nation’s best at their respective positions, a group that features a few Alabama and Auburn commits.

One of these names is quickly becoming one to watch as well in Anquon Fegans, an Auburn commit whom Alabama is reportedly pushing hard for just ahead of the Early Signing Period according to On3 recruiting analyst Steve Wiltfong.

Alabama adds third commitment to top-ranked 2027 recruiting class

While early, Alabama’s 2027 class continues to grow.

While the Alabama Crimson Tide flipped a three-star running back from a Big Ten program Tuesday, that was not the program’s lone news during the day to come on the recruiting trail.

That is because the Crimson Tide also added another commitment to their 2027 recruiting class, as Alexander Ward officially committed to Alabama.

Ward announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide over a list of finalists that included the Auburn Tigers, Florida State Seminoles, Georgia Bulldogs, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, and South Carolina Gamecocks.

The first out-of-state prospect in Alabama’s 2027 class, Ward is a wide receiver out of Walton High School in Georgia. Ward however is not currently ranked as a prospect according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, but that will likely change in a future update.

Ward is now the third commitment in Alabama’s 2027 recruiting class, one that currently ranks No. 1 nationally. Alongside Ward, the others members from Alabama’s 2027 class are from in-state with four-star edge rushers Jabarrius Garror and Ba’Roc Willis.

Alabama flips Michigan State running back commitment to Crimson Tide

Alabama has flipped another Big Ten commitment.

After a prediction was logged last night, Michigan State Spartans running back commit Jace Clarizio has now officially flipped his commitment to the Alabama Crimson Tide, making the announcement Tuesday afternoon via a post on social media.

The newest Alabama commitment is the fourth three-star prospect in Alabama’s 2025 class as well.

Alabama predicted to flip running back commit from Big Ten team

Could another flip be coming soon?

As the Early Signing Period approaches in early December, flip targets start to become clearer by the day for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Now a little over a week from flipping former Michigan Wolverines safety commit Ivan Taylor as well, the Crimson Tide have now been predicted to flip yet another commitment from a Big Ten program, this time coming in current Michigan State Spartans commit Jace Clarizio.

The prediction was made Monday night by 247Sports recruiting analysts Tom Loy and Brett Greenberg, with the two placing a crystal ball for the Crimson Tide to flip the Michigan State commit.

Clarizio, a native of East Lansing, Michigan, is considered as the nation’s No. 493 overall player in the 2025 class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings out of East Lansing High School in Michigan. A three-star running back, Clarizio also ranks as the nation’s No. 37 overall player at the position, as well as the No. 6 player in the state of Michigan.

Alabama reportedly emerging for LSU commit following Bryce Underwood flip

The Tide are reportedly emerging for a current LSU commit.

According to a report from On3 recruiting analyst Steve Wiltfong, the Alabama Crimson Tide have reportedly intensified their pursuit of Derek Meadows, who is a wide receiver in the 2025 recruiting class.

Meadows has been committed to the LSU Tigers since July.

On the 247Sports composite, Meadows is the nation’s No. 119 overall player in the class and a four-star prospect. Meadows is also ranked 17th among wide receivers nationally and third among players in Nevada, where he attends national powerhouse Bishop Gorman High School.

The 6-foot-5 wide receiver holds 20-plus collegiate offers. He visited Alabama on an unofficial in March and on an official in June, according to 247Sports’ timeline for Meadows.

This news of Alabama’s recent push for Meadows’ commitment comes on the heels of five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood, the nation’s No. 1 recruit, flipping from LSU to Michigan on Thursday night. The Wolverines are also a program to watch for Meadows.

Could the Crimson Tide flip the four-star wide receiver before the early signing period opens on Dec. 4?

Alabama flips four-star safety from Michigan, commits to Crimson Tide

Alabama flipped a safety from Michigan on Monday night.

After losing three different commitments over the last week, two of which were flips, the Alabama Crimson Tide have now added another member of their 2025 recruiting class as highly-touted safety Ivan Taylor committed to the program Monday night.

Taylor flipped his commitment to Alabama from the Michigan Wolverines, with whom he had been committed to since July of 2024. Prior to being a Michigan commit, Taylor was a Notre Dame Fighting Irish commitment from December of 2023 to July of 2024, which is when he flipped to the Wolverines.

Alabama has now lost three commitments over the last week.

The Alabama Crimson Tide lost a long-time member of their 2025 recruiting class Sunday afternoon, as Anthony Rogers officially announced that he was decommitting from the program.

Announced on social media, Rogers was the lone member of Alabama’s 2025 class still commitment from the Nick Saban era, as the former Crimson Tide commit had previously been committed since June of 2023.

An in-state prospect for the Crimson Tide, Rogers is rated as the nation’s No. 141 overall player in the 2025 recruiting cycle according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. A four-star prospect, Rogers is also ranked as the No. 8 running back nationally, as well as the No. 10 player in the state of Alabama where he attends Carver-Montgomery High School.

According to a report as well, Rogers will now choose between either the Georgia Bulldogs or Ohio State Buckeyes after decommitting from Alabama.

Alabama quarterback commit finishes regular season with impressive stat line

The Alabama commit posted an impressive regular season stat line.

When it comes to the Alabama Crimson Tide’s overall 2025 recruiting class, there are arguably few names who stick out more than Keelon Russell.

A five-star prospect, Russell is the highest-rated of Alabama’s commitments in the cycle – which sits at 21 total – and is considered as the nation’s No. 8 overall player according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Russell also ranks as the nation’s No. 3 overall quarterback, and was the winner of the prestigious Elite 11 quarterback competition back during the summer.

Along with those rankings, Russell also plays for one of the nation’s top prep teams at Duncanville High School, which is also where the five-star ranks as the No. 3 player in the state of Texas.

There, Russell is also in the midst of a truly special senior season where the five-star is making a case for MaxPreps National Player of the Year, recently capping what was a phenomenal regular season stretch.

Across nine games, a span in which the Panthers went undefeated at 9-0, the five-star led the Duncanville offense to an average of 44.3 points per game, while also completing a combined 70.4% of his passes for 2,827 yards and a 40:0 TD:INT ratio. Russell also had a combined 148.8 QB rating during the regular season, while also rushing for 194 yards and a score on 22 attempts.

With the Panthers set to begin the playoffs Friday night, the Alabama commit will now look to lead the Panthers to their third consecutive state title in the coming weeks.
