Aiden Black visited Rutgers football this week, an important step forward for the tight end as he purses an offer from the Scarlet Knights.
Black is a three-star tight end from Delaware Valley High School (Milford, PA). He is ranked the No. 20 player in Pennsylvania and the No. 35 tight end in the nation by 247Sports, where he is also a three-star.
He has a Power Five offer list that includes Duke, Maryland, Syracuse, Temple and West Virginia among others. He said that the visit on Thursday with Rutgers football was a solid one as his recruitment rolls on.
“It was good. Very comprehensive and the hospitality was great,” Black told Rutgers Wire.
As for what stood out, Black said some of the attention to detail as well as the program’s emphasis on the players left an impression following his visit.
“Just how much they value relationships and the durability of their players as seen by the amount of recovery facilities there are,” Black said.
At 6-foot3 and 235 pounds, Black has the prototypical size to play tight end in the Big Ten. Last season, he had 28 catches for 409 yards and four touchdowns.

Black does not yet hold a Rutgers football offer. One could be in the offing, Black said, depending on the direction of the offense.
“Currently, it is all based on how they will run their offense by the time I would be in the program. If they need an H-back style tight end, I would most likely be their choice. However, if they need a Y-style tight end then I wouldn’t be. The offer will be based off that.”
