Texas A&M names their Whataburger Players of the month for October

Edgerrin Cooper and Carolyn Calzada are October’s Whataburger Players of the month

Each month, Texas A&M athletics recognizes two athletes as the Whataburger Players of the Month for their achievements in their respective sports. For October, A&M has chosen junior linebacker Edgerrin Cooper from the Football team and sophomore defender Carolyn Calzada from the Women’s Soccer team. Check out their accomplishments below for October, earning them the honor of player of the month.

Edgerrin Cooper – October Snapshot

  • 22 Tackles
  • 6 Tackles for Loss
  • 3.5 Sacks
  • 2 Forced Fumbles

Carolyn Calzada – October Snapshot

  • First Team All-SEC
  • Led Defense to one goal or less in five of six matches in October
  • Help lead defense to 5 scoreless matches in October

Best Photos: Texas A&M’s 4-3 win over Tennessee Volunteers in Knoxville

The Aggies Soccer team snatched a victory away from the Tennessee Vols off the foot of junior forward Jazmine Wilkinson

On Sunday, the Aggie Women’s Soccer team won a big conference matchup in Tennessee. They were led to victory behind junior forward Jazmine Wilkinson’s three goals for her first career hat trick.

With Texas A&M down 3-2, Wilkinson tied the game on a short strike and followed that up with a header to put the Aggies up 4-3 over the Vols, which ended up being the contest’s final score.

Wilkinson’s performance against Tennessee Vols earned her SEC Soccer Player of the Week.

Texas A&M will close out the regular season on Thursday at 7:30 pm CST when they travel to Baton Rouge to take on the LSU Tigers.

SEC names Aggie junior Jazmine Wilkinson as Player of the Week

SEC names Texas A&M Junior Jazmine Wilkinson Player of the Week after big win against the Tennessee Volunteers on Sunday

Forward Jazmine Wilkinson hit the hat trick in a win over the Tennessee Vols in an exciting game this past weekend. The SEC recognized the junior’s production after the big conference victory by naming her SEC Soccer Player of the Week.

Below is the excerpt from the release from the SEC officials.

“Wilkinson registered her first career hat trick in the Aggies’ thrilling 4-3 victory at Tennessee. All three goals played a pivotal role in the outcome, including two equalizers and the late game-winner. In the 77th minute, Wilkinson toe-poked a ball between the keeper and the right post. Under a minute later, Wilkinson got her head on the end of a Sammy Smith service to complete the hat trick with the game winner.”
