Report: Brock Lesnar becomes free agent as WWE deal expires

Brock Lesnar’s WWE contract has expired according to a report and the megastar is a free agent.

The biggest free agent unsigned free agent isn’t Jadeveon Clowney. Nope, not after a report Monday that Brock Lesnar’s contract with WWE has expired.

Arguably the biggest name in pro wrestling is on the market. Could this simply be a ploy to drive up Lesnar’s price with WWE or could the former UFC star and wrestling champion have other plans?

It is impossible to read what could be on the horizon for Lesnar. As the story goes, Lesnar and WWE have come to similar impasses with their biggest draw signing and returning.

That said, his “advocate” in storylines, Paul Heyman, has just been teamed with rival Roman Reigns. Of course, that pairing would be perfect for a program down the road pitting Heyman’s allegiance and ties to Lesnar.

According to PWINSIDER, Lesnar’s million-dollar contract expired and neither side has reached out to negotiate. Lesnar is free to work AEW or UFC as he wishes.

Wrestling commentator legend Jim Ross declares Jags as his NFL team

Jim Ross’ college team has always been the Oklahoma Sooners, but he now has a favorite NFL team.

Many key figures from Tony Khan’s All Elite Wrestling league have voiced their support for the Jacksonville Jaguars, who are coming up on a big 2020 season. However, the team may have received its most legendary endorser this weekend as AEW commentator Jim Ross declared the Jags as his NFL team via Twitter.

Most know of Ross through his work with World Wrestling Entertainment, as he’s called some the most important matches in wrestling history. Most of those matches came during the “WWE Attitude” era, which was dominated by names like Stone Cold Steve Austin, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Triple H, Mankind, and many more.

Ross is also known for his support of football, specifically through his fandom for the Oklahoma Sooners. He’s also expressed his support for the Jags through many AEW broadcasts due to his connection with coach Doug Marrone, who he’s met on several occasions.

Now with Ross making it official that he’s a Jags fan, we should expect to see him in the press box often supporting them alongside AEW stars Cody Rhodes, Brandi Rhodes, and many more. Even if he can’t make a majority of the games, it’s almost a certainty that he’ll be sharing some hot takes on the team via social media.

WATCH: Former Spartan, UFC legend Rashad Evans appears with Mike Tyson, Henry Cejudo on All Elite Wrestling

Former Michigan State wrestler and UFC Hall of Famer Rashad Evans was on All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite Wednesday with Mike Tyson.

If you have been aching to see a former Michigan State athlete on live tv, then you received some good news on Wednesday night. Rashad Evans, a former Michigan State Spartan who was a standout on the wrestling team before going on to become a UFC legend, made an appearance with a squadron of famous fighters, on TNT’s All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite. Evans was flanked by Mike Tyson, Henry Cejudo, and Vitor Belfort as they confronted professional wrestling legend Chris Jericho and his ‘Inner Circle.’

You can watch the video below:

Before going on to have a Hall of Fame UFC career, Evans was a very successful wrestler at Michigan State where he finished his career with a 48-34 record and just missed making the All-American team in a season where he was one of only four wrestlers to defeat collegiate wrestling legend Greg Jones.

Evans was inducted to the UFC Hall of Fame as a member of the 2019 class.

Mike Tyson struggled to rip off his shirt before starting brawl at AEW event

Mike Tyson really had a tough time with his shirt.

Rumors have been floating around lately of boxing legend Mike Tyson possibly returning the the ring for one more fight, which would be fun as hell.

On Wednesday night, however, we got to see a jacked Tyson get a little physical at an All Elite Wrestling show as he struggled to rip off his shirt before getting into it with Chris Jericho, who is apparently called Le Champion in this wrestling league or whatever.

Is this all staged? Yeah, of course it is. But it was still fun to watch Tyson – who walked to the ring with Henry Cejudo, Vitor Belfort, and Rashad Evans from the UFC – mix things up a bit.

Also, he really did have trouble with his shirt:

Here was Tyson’s entrance:

Now we need a real Tyson fight.

Tony Khan delivers with an insanely entertaining AEW PPV event at TIAA Bank Field

Tony Khan and AEW hit their one-year mark and their anniversary pay-per-view (in Jacksonville) may have been the best so far.

In the wake of COVID-19, Tony Khan’s All Elite Wrestling has essentially set up shop at TIAA Bank Field for their most recent shows. That included the wrestling league’s top pay-per-view event, “Double or Nothing,” which was originally supposed to be held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Despite the roadblocks, Khan delivered a very entertaining pay-per-view in Jacksonville and a lot of fans feel it provided some of the top wrestling moments of the year — if not for quite some time. Among the best parts of the night was the exposure to the Jaguars’ facility and Khan’s ability to sprinkle some entertaining football elements into the event.

[lawrence-related id=32903]

A majority of the event was held at Daily’s Place where the card featured some solid matches. The first notable match was a “Casino Ladder Match” that featured top names in the industry like Brian “The Machine” Cage, Darby Allin, Joey Janela, Orange Cassidy, Scorpio Sky, and Frankie Kazarian (both of SCU), plus many more. We won’t spoil it (see results here), but just know that when there are ladders involved, high-flying action and brutality are pretty much guaranteed.

Some notable matches that followed included a battle between rising wrestling stars MJF and Jungle Boy and a battle to be the first-ever TNT Champion between Cody Rhodes and Lance Archer (featuring Mike Tyson ringside). The AEW men’s and women’s titles were also up for grabs in two brutal matches that featured Jon Moxley vs. Brodie Lee and Hikaru Shida vs. Nyla Rose.

Where the connection with Jaguars fans came into play was during the main event, which was a first-ever “Stadium Stampede” matchup between The Elite, their friend Matt Hardy and the Inner Circle. The match involved each respective wrestler brawling around the stadium and throwing down in all of the spots that Jags fans would be familiar with, including the field itself.

The match had it all from Adam Page chasing Sammy Guevara on a horse, to Page and Kenny Omega fighting Jake Hager in the east club bar. As we previously reported, Jaxson De Ville also made a cameo and was laid out by wrestling legend Chris Jericho in the process.

In a time where many are at home practicing social distancing, Khan delivered the world with some quality entertainment — and the presence of the Jags franchise during AEW’s highly anticipated event at the home of the team (and one of Duval’s most iconic landmarks) was definitely an added bonus.

Mike Tyson took his shirt off at AEW Double or Nothing and looks absolute jacked

This man is 53 years old.

Mike Tyson was one of the featured guests at All Elite Wrestling’s massive Double or Nothing event on Saturday night, and while he didn’t get in the ring, he didn’t have to.

Tyson was sitting ringside at the event, holding the championship belt for the main event match between Cody and Lance Archer. While Tyson was meant to just be there to spectate, he got involved once a couple of other ringside wrestlers — Jake Roberts and Arn Anderson — got booted for trying to interfere with the match.

Roberts exited, then tried to get back to the ring holding a snake in a bag. (He’s Jake the Snake … get it.) Tyson didn’t want to mess with the integrity of the title match, so he stepped in as an enforcer, taking his shirt off to intimidate Roberts.

It worked. Also, good god this man is 53 years old.

Tyson has flirted with a return to the ring at age 53, and his trainer says he could still box at the pro level … and do it well.

I am not one to doubt this man.

Watch: Jaxson de Ville hilariously challenges AEW superstar Chris Jericho

Jags mascot Jaxson De Ville made a cameo on AEW’s Double or Nothing, but it didn’t go too well for him after challenging a wrestling legend.

When it comes to mascots in the NFL, there may not be one bolder than Jaxson de Ville of the Jacksonville Jaguars. For years fans have witnessed him do it all from zip-lining down the stadium, to turning TIAA Bank Field into a Mario Kart racetrack, to “streaking” at Wembley Stadium.

He’s also proven that he’s not afraid to provoke those who step on his turf at TIAA Bank Field. That was the case when All Elite Wrestling had their first-ever “Stadium Stampede” match at TIAA Bank Field for their “Double or Nothing” pay-per-view event.

With The Elite and their friend Matt Hardy facing off against the Inner Circle, Jaxson decided to make a cameo during a confrontation between wrestling legend Chris Jericho and legend-to-be Nick Jackson. Unlike most of his confrontations, this one didn’t go too well for Jacksonville’s favorite feline as he ended up being on the receiving end of Jericho’s finishing move called the “Judas Effect.”

Unfortunately, Jaxson has yet to tweet from his social media account to let the world know if he’s fine.

As many are aware, Tony Khan of the Jags’ front office is the creator of AEW, who had to have “Double or Nothing” at the Jags’ facilities (Daily’s Place included). The “Stadium Stampede” (which we won’t spoil) was the main event and didn’t disappoint as many fans feel like it was the most entertaining wrestling match in a very long time.

Mike Tyson to present title belt on wrestling show May 23

Why will Mike Tyson be in a ring on May 23?

Mike Tyson is getting back into a ring. And he will have a title belt, too.

No, Iron Mike is not set for a heavyweight fight … among word he is open to charity bouts at age 53.

Rather, the former heavyweight champ will appear at professional wrestling’s AEW Double or Nothing on May 23 to present the new TNT title.

The combatants will be babyface Cody against Cody and Lance Archer.

This will not be the first time Tyson has had a role in a wrestling extravaganza. He appeared in a WWE ring in 1998 as a guest enforcer in the Shawn Michaels-Steve Austin WWE title match at WrestleMania XIV.

That came after Tyson famously got into it with Stone Cold in the ring on a Monday Night Raw.

He returned to a WWE ring in 2010 and was inducted into its HOF in 2012.
