Colts mascot Blue pays up on lost bet after Jaguars win

Blue, the Colts mascot, was out in downtown Indianapolis taking his lumps Tuesday after losing a bet.

Indianapolis Colts mascot Blue took his lumps Tuesday, two days after the Jacksonville Jaguars handed his team a 37-20 loss.

On Friday of last week, Blue bet 1010XL radio host Joe Cowart that Indianapolis would beat Jacksonville. If he won, the mascot would do the outro for every one of Cowart’s shows next week, which undoubtedly would’ve been full of Colts love. If the Jaguars won, Blue would wear a sandwich board that reads “Jaxson is the GOAT” and “DUUUVAL.”

Alas, Blue was out in downtown Indianapolis suffering through the shame:

On Sunday, the Jaguars completed a season sweep of Indianapolis and made it nine straight home victories — including one in London — against the Colts.

Jaguars mascot Jaxson de Ville is no stranger to being on the wrong side of bets, though. A decade ago, Jaxson made the ill-advised decision to bet that the Jaguars would beat the Colts in a 2013 matchup. After a 37-3 blowout loss, the Jaguars’ mascot was shot with 40 paintballs.

All things considered, Blue got off easy.

Jaxson de Ville goes viral in Week 12 with patriotic Speedo

Jaxson de Ville’s skimpy attire didn’t go unnoticed by viewers.

Jaxson de Ville has a long history of testing limits and being one of the wackier NFL mascots. On Sunday, his risqué attire during a Week 12 game against the Baltimore Ravens didn’t go unnoticed.

The Jacksonville Jaguars mascot spent his time celebrating plays while wearing an American flag-inspired Speedo. When Jaxson was spotted doing some pelvic thrusts after a JaMycal Hasty touchdown, social media erupted.

The Speedo look isn’t exactly new for Jaxson de Ville. Way back in 2012, he turned heads when he donned the skimpy suit during the Pro Bowl. A year later, Jaxson de Ville filmed a dance video in the attire after losing a bet with the Seattle Seahawks mascot.

Jaxson de Ville is known for bungee jumping and zip lining into stadiums, and has previously been lit on fire. While the viewing audience may be shocked by what they’ve seen from Jaxson on Sunday, the fans of Duval probably aren’t surprised one bit.

Where did Jags’ Jaxson de Ville land in The Athletic’s mascot power rankings?

Jaxson de Ville may be one of the most recognizable mascots in the NFL as he’s managed to make fans smile when the team couldn’t.

The Jacksonville Jaguars may be at the bottom of the league when it comes to popularity, but fans around the nation recognize their mascot, Jaxson de Ville. Since the Jags became an NFL franchise, he’s been the Evel Knievel of the NFL, constantly wowing the crowd with his daredevil antics at TIAA Bank Field. And as challenging as those stunts are while donning a cartoonish costume, he looks cool doing them.

In a recent ranking of the league’s mascots by The Athletic, Jaxson was able to crack the top-10 of Rhiannon Walker’s list (No. 8 to be exact) for his look. That put him behind Buffalo Bills mascot, Billy Buffalo, who came in at the No. 7 spot, and ahead of Detroit Lions mascot, Roary.

Thoughts: I see exactly what you did there, Jacksonville. I see you, and I commend you 😏. From yours truly, InstantRHIplay. Jaxson looks cool as the other side of the pillow, but you know what isn’t cool, though? A sign that says, “Towels Carry Ebola.” If it’s not too obvious, maybe don’t make fun of the current crisis we’re in with coronavirus.

As mentioned, there was one insensitive faux pas that set Jaxon back: the 2014 incident in which the mascot referenced the Ebola crisis with a sign that read “Towels Carry Ebola,” a remark that came across as tone-deaf during the outbreak. The optics of that mistake are no better now, but Jaxon thankfully appears to have learned his lesson.

That terrible mistake aside, it’s worth noting that Jaxson has put a lot of smiles on the faces of Jags fans through a period of time where the team has been hard to watch. And he has a good relationship with kids — a key part of the job. When combining those reasons, it wouldn’t be a shocker to see him make the top-8 of other rankings, if not higher.

Watch: Jaxson de Ville hilariously challenges AEW superstar Chris Jericho

Jags mascot Jaxson De Ville made a cameo on AEW’s Double or Nothing, but it didn’t go too well for him after challenging a wrestling legend.

When it comes to mascots in the NFL, there may not be one bolder than Jaxson de Ville of the Jacksonville Jaguars. For years fans have witnessed him do it all from zip-lining down the stadium, to turning TIAA Bank Field into a Mario Kart racetrack, to “streaking” at Wembley Stadium.

He’s also proven that he’s not afraid to provoke those who step on his turf at TIAA Bank Field. That was the case when All Elite Wrestling had their first-ever “Stadium Stampede” match at TIAA Bank Field for their “Double or Nothing” pay-per-view event.

With The Elite and their friend Matt Hardy facing off against the Inner Circle, Jaxson decided to make a cameo during a confrontation between wrestling legend Chris Jericho and legend-to-be Nick Jackson. Unlike most of his confrontations, this one didn’t go too well for Jacksonville’s favorite feline as he ended up being on the receiving end of Jericho’s finishing move called the “Judas Effect.”

Unfortunately, Jaxson has yet to tweet from his social media account to let the world know if he’s fine.

As many are aware, Tony Khan of the Jags’ front office is the creator of AEW, who had to have “Double or Nothing” at the Jags’ facilities (Daily’s Place included). The “Stadium Stampede” (which we won’t spoil) was the main event and didn’t disappoint as many fans feel like it was the most entertaining wrestling match in a very long time.
