AEW hasn’t traditionally had a year-ending pay-per-view, but that changes this week when Worlds End hits the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Long Island.

Fittingly, one of Long Island’s own will be front and center for this inaugural show. MJF will defend the AEW World Championship against Samoa Joe after weeks of time when both men have been defending each other instead of doing the usual fighting and verbal jousting. That’s because the mysterious masked Devil and a gang of black-clad henchmen have been making both their lives miserable — and their potential interference at Worlds End can’t be counted out.

The card will also feature the championship final of the AEW Continental Classic that has been playing out on Dynamite and Collision over the past few weeks. The Blue League and Gold League winners will collide on Long Island, with the victor becoming the first ever AEW Triple Crown Champion.

Pretty much every other AEW title will also be on the line — even the FTW Championship — this Saturday night. It will be interesting to see if that becomes the calling card of Worlds End going forward.

As usual, fans will have some options when it comes to catching the action live. Here’s everything you need to know to watch.

AEW, Joe Hand Promotions bringing Worlds End to theaters, bars, restaurants

Need somewhere to watch Worlds End? AEW and Joe Hand Promotions may have an answer for you.

If you won’t be able to or would prefer not to watch AEW Worlds End at home next weekend, you may have some options.

As has been the case with many of AEW’s pay-per-views over the last year or two, the company is teaming with Joe Hand Promotions to bring Worlds End to select movie theaters, bars and restaurants on Dec. 30. The establishments showing the PPV include some AMC and Regal theaters, Dave & Busters locations and various other theaters and restaurants — more than 200 throughout the continental U.S., Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

“We are thrilled to stand alongside AEW as they deliver another epic event in the form of Worlds End,” said Joe Hand, Jr., President of Joe Hand Promotions, in a press release. “Our commitment to the AEW community remains unwavering, and we anticipate an unforgettable night of wrestling action on Dec. 30. Whether you gather at select Dave & Buster’s locations or experience the event in your favorite premier movie theaters across the nation you will witness the excitement and camaraderie that make AEW events truly special.”

Better still, Joe Hand Productions has a handy site where you can find a place showing Worlds End near you by entering your zip code. That’s super helpful.

AEW Worlds End takes place on Saturday, Dec. 30 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, Long Island, New York. While the full card has yet to be revealed, the show will include MJF defending his AEW World Championship against Samoa Joe, Toni Storm putting her AEW Women’s World Championship on the line against Riho, and the final of the AEW Continental Classic, which will crown the first ever Triple Crown Champion.

AEW Worlds End pay-per-view announced for late December in Long Island

AEW will hold the first ever Worlds End toward the very end of 2023 in a place it has yet to run a PPV.

Though it sounds like one of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies, the newly announced AEW pay-per-view also has an apocalyptic feel.

Revealed during this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, AEW Worlds End will take place on Saturday, Dec. 30. It will be the first ever PPV the company will put on during December, as its historical slate of PPV events has always ended with Full Gear in November.

Notably, the inaugural Worlds End will originate from Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Long Island, New York — hometown of AEW World Champion MJF, who would be expected to have a big match on the card, regardless of whether he can hold off the ever multiplying cast of challengers for his title until then.

It’s also the first AEW pay-per-view which will be held in New York state. That could help with ticket sales, as the company has generally had more success running new markets than returning to existing ones in 2023.

AEW CEO, GM and head of creative Tony Khan has been cagey about whether the promotion is headed toward a monthly PPV schedule, but has hinted multiple times that he believes AEW could successfully run more than the five it put on in 2022. That has proved prophetic, with All In London drawing a huge crowd in August and WrestleDream debuting in Seattle earlier this month.

Both of those shows have been confirmed to return in 2024, so Worlds End could help mark a move toward monthly big events. The next thing to watch for is if AEW announces new shows for January and February 2024, as Revolution, typically held in March, is currently the first PPV officially announced for next year.

Tickets for AEW Worlds End go on sale Friday, Nov. 3 at 10 a.m. ET at AEWtix.com.
