Former NFL QB Dan Orlovsky believes that Bryce Young is a “playbook changer”

Bryce Young is so good as a rookie that he opens up the entire playbook per ESPN Analyst

Expectations are always high for the first overall pick of any draft, but this is nothing new to former Alabama quarterback, [autotag]Bryce Young[/autotag].

Coming out of high school, Young was the No. 1 prospect in the country and was held to sky-high expectations, yet, always found a way to exceed them as he led the Tide to a national title in his first year as a starter and became the first Alabama quarterback to ever win the Heisman Trophy.

The Panthers gave up tons of draft capital and an emerging star wide receiver to move up to the No. 1 pick in the draft. Yes, Young’s precision passion, and ability to escape the pocket are elite, but it is his mind and the way he understands the game that really makes him special.

Dan Orlovsky played in the NFL for 13 seasons and now works for ESPN as an analyst. Orlovsky appeared on the Pat McAfee show where he shared what he was hearing about Young’s development with the Panthers.

Orlovsky goes on to say, “The Panthers are shocked how impressive Bryce Young is mentally. I remember going back to April and having conversations and the phrase that kept getting shared about Bryce is that he is an elite processor. Mentally so much more advanced than everybody else… They don’t feel like there is a single part of his game that holds them back offensively.”

As a rookie, Young will have the opportunity to dazzle all of the critics and compete for an NFC South title. It is pretty insane to think that he is capable of running advanced NFL offenses as only a rookie.
