Adrian Jackson becomes third Oregon player to transfer to Nevada

Former Oregon players are setting up shop in Nevada with the latest being LB Adrian Jackson.

A lot of former Oregon Ducks seem to be finding a new home down in Nevada.

On Thursday night it was announced that former Oregon linebacker Adrian Jackson would be committing to the Nevada Wolfpack, where he would join both LB Jackson LaDuke and RB Sean Dollars, who also transferred to Nevada this offseason.

Ken Wilson, the head coach of the Wolfpack, is the former LB coach for the Ducks, and former Oregon RB coach Jim Mastro holds a front-office role with the team.

Jackson announced that he was entering the transfer portal back in August, so he has sat out the last several months while making his decision on where to play. In his three years with the Ducks, Jackson had 28 tackles and 1 sack in 19 games.

Linebacker Adrian Jackson announces he is in the transfer portal

Linebacker Adrian Jackson has announced via Twitter that he is indeed transferring from Oregon.

Just a day before fall practices begin, Oregon Ducks linebacker Adrian Jackson has announced that he is in the transfer portal.

It was discovered earlier this summer that Jackson was no longer with the program, but now it’s official.

Jackson spent three years in Eugene and racked up 33 tackles, 4.5 for loss, and a sack. The 6-foot-3, 230-pounder from Denver was once a four-star recruit and the top recruit to come out of Colorado in 2017.

But now the depth chart at the linebacker position is stacked with the likes of Noah Sewell, Justin Flowe, and Jefffrey Bassa, Jackson mostly likely would have had a difficult time getting on the field on a consistent basis.

Linebacker Adrian Jackson leaves the Oregon football program

Oregon Ducks linebacker Adrian Jackson has decided to leave the football program.

Linebackers will be one of many strengths of the 2022 Oregon Ducks football team. But the depth at that position took a hit today with Adrian Jackson deciding to leave the program.

The four-year junior from Denver was set to be a big part of the outside linebacker rotation after having 16 tackles, 2.5 for loss. For his career, that began in 2018, Jackson acccumilated 33 tackles, 23 solo, and 4.5 for loss and one sack.

Jackson made an impact as a true freshman where he played in 12 games and made two starts. In 2018, he managed to have 13 tackles, including 10 solo and had a tackle in each of the final six games.

But his career was derailed somewhat just before the 2019 year where Jackson suffered a season-ending injury forcing him to redshirt. Then the pandemic hit and the Ducks played just seven games.

Report: Linebacker Justin Flowe is out for the rest of the regular season

Fox Sports reporter Bruce Feldman says Oregon linebacker Justin Flowe will be out for the regular season.

The injury news on the defensive side of things just keeps getting worse for the Oregon Ducks.

Head coach Mario Cristobal announced Monday in his weekly press conference that that star freshman linebacker Justin Flowe sustained a significant foot injury and now Fox Sports writer Bruce Feldman reports Flowe will indeed miss the rest of the regular season.

To say this is a huge blow for the Ducks is an understatement. Flowe had an incredible debut in Week 1 with 14 tackles against Fresno State that earned him Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors.

With Flowe out, linebackers Noah Sewell and Mase Funa will have to carry the load at the linebacker spot as well as Adrian Jackson and Keith Brown. All four linebackers had great games in the 35-28 upset at Ohio State, so all is definitely not lost.

Oregon is also expecting to get Kayvon Thibodeaux back on the field soon, but with the next opponent being FCS Stony Brook, don’t expect the star defensive end playing until Arizona comes calling Sept. 25.
