Warriors select UCLA’s Adem Bona in latest NBA mock draft from The Ringer

On the way to earning All-Pac-12 honors, UCLA’s Adem Bona averaged 12.4 points on 58.8% shooting from the field with 5.9 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game.

With only one pick in the second round, there’s been a flurry of different prospects projected to land with the Golden State Warriors in mock drafts. In the latest mock draft from Kevin O’Connell with The Ringer, Mike Dunleavy Jr., Steve Kerr and the Warriors landed a standout defensive big man from the Pac-12.

With the No. 52 overall selection, the Warriors added UCLA’s Adem Bona in the second round. According to O’Connell, Bona is similar to Warriors veteran big man and fellow UCLA alum Kevon Looney.

Via The Ringer:

Bona, who’s similar to Kevon Looney, could provide some support behind him; he’s also, coincidentally, another UCLA player.

In two seasons with the Bruins, the 6-foot-10 center built a decorated resume that includes Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year and Pac-12 Rookie of the Year.

On this way to earning All-Pac-12 and All-Defense honors, Bona averaged 12.9 points on 58.8% shooting from the field to go along with 5.9 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.1 steals, and 1.8 blocks per game.

Adem Bona stays in LA in ClutchPoints mock draft

Adem Bona staying in LA would be fun.

It is time for NBA mock draft season. with the 2024 NBA Draft coming up in June, the UCLA Bruins have one player expected to hear his name called: Adem Bona.

Bona earned an invite to the Combine and performed well, which should only help his case.

NBA insider Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints compiled a full NBA mock draft right after the lottery results. In it, he had UCLA star Adem Bona landing at No. 46 with the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Los Angeles Clippers don’t have a first-round pick this year, and they could really use some more depth behind Ivica Zubac. Adam Bona is a strong big man who tends to play well in pick-and-roll sets, as well as in the paint as a rebounder on both sides of the court. There isn’t much reason to believe that Bona can’t make a difference defensively early on in his career.

Bona staying in LA would be fun for UCLA fans, and the fit with the Clippers is a good one.

Adem Bona to Pacers in recent Bleacher Report mock draft

Bona to the Pacers would be fun.

The landing spot of UCLA Bruins star big man Adem Bona is up in the air. After an impressive performance at the NBA Combine, he likely moved up a bit in these projections.

As soon as the NBA Draft Lottery concluded, Jonathan Wasserman of Bleacher Report compiled a full mock draft. In it, he had Bona at No. 50, going to the Indiana Pacers:

NBA teams should know what they’re getting and what they’re not with Adem Bona.

He can bring instant defensive activity/switchability and athletic finishing. And he’ll remain a threat in the post with his drop steps into hooks.

Being foul- and turnover-prone will just mean a reduced role, likely one off the bench for the foreseeable future.

Bona was even slated as a first-round pick by College Sports Wire, which came after his run at the NBA Combine. The Pacers would be a good landing spot for him as they are currently in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Boston Celtics.

Adem Bona to Grizzlies in ESPN mock draft

Bona to Memphis this time around.

Where will UCLA Bruins star Adem Bona end up?

The big man entered the NBA Drfat and did himself a lot of favors with some impressive performances and measurements at the NBA Draft Combine. As a result, his draft stock has skyrocketed a bit, and that is good news for Bona.

Bona was mocked to the Memphis Grizzlies at 39 overall in the latest mock draft by Jonathan Givony and Jeremy Woo.

Bona had been projected as a second-round pick in the middle of the season, and recently College Sports Wire pegged Bona as a late first-round choice, so the landing spot is varying a little bit.

Nonetheless, the Bruins big man should feel confident about his chances of hearing his name called during the two-day NBA Draft at the end of June.

It will be interesting to monitor over the next few weeks to see how his landing spot changes, but he should hear his name called during the draft one way or another.

Potential first-round pick Jaylon Tyson visited the Trail Blazers for a predraft workout

Potential first-round pick Jaylon Tyson was among the prospects who worked out with the Trail Blazers on Thursday.

Potential first-round pick Jaylon Tyson was among the six prospects who attended a predraft workout with the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday, the team announced.

Tyson was named to the All-Pac-12 first team this past season after averaging 19.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.2 steals on 36% shooting from 3-point range as a junior at Cal. His 607 points were the seventh-most by a Cal player in a single season.

The 6-foot-7 guard registered 17 20-point games, the most by a Golden Bear since Jerome Randle in the 2009-10 season. He reached that mark in six consecutive games to start conference play, the longest streak in program history since 1997.

Joining Tyson in the workout on Thursday were West Virginia guard RaeQuan Battle, UCLA forward Adem Bona, Kansas State forward Arthur Kaluma, Kentucky forward Ugonna Onyenso and Florida guard Will Richard.

The Trail Blazers figure to be very active in the predraft process because they have four draft picks in the top 40 (7, 14, 34, 40). The organization will likely cast a wide net and bring in as many prospects as possible for workouts and interviews.

The 2024 NBA draft will take place June 26-27 in New York City.

Adem Bona stands out in NBA Draft Combine Game 2

Adem Bona dazzles at the Combine.

Former UCLA big man Adem Bona was listed as a “standout” in his second NBA Draft combine game. NBA draft expert at ESPN Jonathan Givony tweeted out some of the standouts, along with the box score of the game. Bona was listed with AJ Johnson, Bronny James, Alex Karaban, and Oso Ighobardo.

Bona played in 22 minutes of the game and scored 10 points. He also recorded 10 rebounds and did a much better job guarding without defending in this game. His team won the game over Team Love by a final score of 90-83.

His team was led in scoring by James, of USC, who was 4-10 from the field for 13 points.

The first-ever two-day NBA Draft is scheduled for Wednesday, June 26th, 2024. At this rate, it would be surprising if Bona does not hear his name called in one of the two rounds.

He is projected most commonly in the second round of the draft.

Adem Bona lands in 1st round of College Sports Wire mock draft

Adem Bona to Boston?

Where will UCLA Bruins star Adem Bona end up in the 2024 NBA Draft? He was projected as a second-round pick during the season by a number of outlets.

But, after an impressive run at the NBA Combine, his stock should be on the rise.

Andy Patton of College Sports Wire comprised a mock draft and he has Bona going to the Boston Celtics at No. 30 overall:

UCLA was not good, at all, last season, but that’s hardly Bona’s fault. The lengthy big man was an elite rim protector and low-post scorer, and his performance at the combine showed his elite athleticism and the potential for him to develop into a jump shooter as well.

Boston could use more depth in the frontcourt, and Bona is able to help right away while developing into what could ultimately be a starting caliber center.

Bona was one of the bright spots for an underwhelming UCLA team, but him landing in the first round would be huge.

Adem Bona completes first NBA Combine Scrimmage

Adem Bona showing out at NBA Combine.

Plenty of discussion has been made about the upcoming NBA draft and where guys will line up during the event. UCLA star Adem Bona was able to complete his first scrimmage of the NBA combine event.

Bona was able to play just under 20:00 in the game. Bona did foul out, which is nothing unusual for Bruins fans to see. During those 20:00 on the court, Bona was 3 for 7 from the field, for 6 points, while recording 5 rebounds, and dishing out 2 assists. He also recorded a steal.

Bona played on Team St. Andrews and got the start as the center. His team was led by Bayler Schierman of Creighton with 17 and Antonio Reeves of Kentucky also adding 17. Bona was also able to play alongside former USC guard Bronny James.

The other team – Team Forehan-Kelly saw K.J. Simpson, formerly of Colorado come off the bench and score a team-high 16 points.

Kris Johnson tweeted out the box score of the first combine game:

The NBA combine continues through May 16th. The NBA Draft is set for June 26-27th.

UCLA’s Adem Bona Impresses with wing span at NBA combine

Adem Bona catching attention at the NBA Combine.

The 2024 NBA Draft is set for Thursday, June 27th, 2024 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. ESPN Seaport District Studios will be the official location of the draft. UCLA’s Adem Bona was one of the players that took part in the pre-draft combine.

The Atlanta Hawks are on the clock and will take the first pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.

The draft combine numbers have been released for the players in attendance. Some of the numbers were staggering, and UCLA’s Bona was one of those guys. Bona was measured with a wing span of 7’3.75″. He was third at the combine between Zach Edey of Purdue and Ryan Kalkbrenner of Creighton. They measured in at 7’10.50″ and 7’5.00″ respectively.

In a recent mock draft from ESPN’s Jonathan Givony and Jeremy Woo, Adem Bona was picked 49th by the Indiana Pacers. The 21-year-old has been projected all along to be a second-round pick.
