Philadelphia 76ers at Denver Nuggets odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Philadelphia 76ers at Denver Nuggets odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Philadelphia 76ers (49-25) face the Denver Nuggets (50-24) Monday at Ball Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 9:30 p.m. ET (NBA TV). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the 76ers vs. Nuggets odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The 76ers were unable to cover as 1-point road underdogs in Saturday’s 125-105 loss to the Phoenix Suns. Philadelphia is now only 2 games ahead of the Cleveland Cavaliers for the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference.

The Nuggets cruised to a 129-106 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks as 3-point home favorites on Saturday. Denver is 3 games ahead of the Memphis Grizzlies for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference.

This will be the second meeting between these teams this season. The 76ers won 126-119 as 3-point home favorites while the Over (232) connected in the first meeting on Jan. 28.

76ers at Nuggets picks and predictions

Prediction

Nuggets 118, 76ers 111

Moneyline

AVOID.

Even though the Nuggets (-200) are expected to secure the victory at home, taking them to win at the current odds isn’t worth the risk.

Against the spread

NUGGETS -4.5 (-115) is my play in this highly anticipated matchup between Embiid and Jokic (assuming Embiid plays) as they are competing for the NBA MVP award in the final weeks of the season. Denver has looked like the much better team recently as it hopes to remain the No. 1 seed in the West down the stretch.

The Nuggets are also 23-13-1 ATS in their 37 home games this season.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 230.5 (-115).

There is a ton of offensive firepower in this game if either or both Embiid and Harden suit up for the 76ers. However, both of these teams are in the bottom 9 in pace this season.

The 76ers are 6-1 to the Under in their last 7 games against a team with a winning record, and the Nuggets are 5-0 to the Under in their last 5 games overall. The Under is also 6-2 in the last 8 meetings between these teams.

Philadelphia 76ers at Denver Nuggets odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Thursday’s Philadelphia 76ers at Denver Nuggets odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Denver Nuggets (9-5) host the Philadelphia 76ers (8-7) Wednesday at Ball Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the 76ers vs. Nuggets odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions, and bets.

Philly has lost five straight since big Joel Embiid went onto the NBA’s COVID-list (0-5 ATS). The Sixers have the second-worst team rating, defensive efficiency and rebounding rate over that span. Philly is 7-8 ATS and 6-8-1 O/U with the 10th-best net rating (plus-2.0).

Denver had its five-game win streak snapped Tuesday after losing 101-91 to the Dallas Mavericks as a 5.5-point road underdog. The Nuggets have a myriad of injury issues but are 7-7 ATS and 4-10 O/U with the seventh-best net rating (plus-4.4).

The Nuggets beat the Sixers in both regular-season meetings last year but Philly was without Embiid in each contest and covered in one of those losses.

76ers at Nuggets odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Nuggets 109, 76ers 96

Money line

These teams should be priced much more evenly but the absence of Embiid makes the Nuggets (-320) too expensive.

Also, you could argue Denver big Nikola Jokic is playing even better to start this year than his MVP turn last season. However, it’s hard getting behind the Sixers (+250) to pull off an upset without Embiid in the lineup.

PASS.

Against the spread

“LEAN” to the NUGGETS -7.5 (-110) because I’m assuming a vast majority of the market will instinctively bet Denver considering Philly is without several contributors. However, betting on sports isn’t as easy as just wagering against teams missing their best players.

The Dallas Mavericks were able to cover as 8-point underdogs at the Phoenix Suns Wednesday without G Luka Doncic. Roughly 85% of the money at the time of publishing is on the Nuggets according to pregame.com.

That said, as long as Denver doesn’t get reckless with the ball and funnel its offense through Jokic, it’s NUGGETS -7.5 (-110) or pass in this spot. The Sixers have given up the most paint points and fastbreak points and second-most second-chance points per game since Embiid has been sidelined.

Over/Under

BET the UNDER 208.5 (-107) even though it’s a pretty obvious wager as well. However, Denver is 1-5 O/U with a minus-20.4 margin vs. the total as a home favorite this year.

The Nuggets also rank third in defensive efficiency and Denver plays at the third-slowest pace in the Association while Philly plays the slowest pace.

There’s been a “sharp line move” towards the Under in this game. 76ers-Nuggets opened with a 210-point total and early action steamed it down to the current price.

Philadelphia 76ers at Denver Nuggets odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Tuesday’s Philadelphia 76ers at Denver Nuggets NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Denver Nuggets (28-18) host the Philadelphia 76ers (32-14) Tuesday for a 9 p.m. ET tip-off at Ball Arena. Below, we analyze the 76ers-Nuggets odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

This is Philadelphia’s fifth game in a six-game road trip and the Sixers just had their three-game win streak snapped by the Los Angeles Clippers Saturday in a 122-112 loss as 5.5-point road underdogs.

Since the All-Star break, the Sixers are 8-2 straight up (SU) and 7-2-1 against the spread (ATS) while outscoring opponents 115.1-103.6 on average.

Denver has won back-to-back games and three of its past four contests while going 3-1 ATS, including a 113-108 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans Friday and a 126-102 blowout win against the Atlanta Hawks Sunday.

The Nuggets beat the brakes out of a Ben Simmons-, Tobias Harris– and Joel Embiid-less Sixers team 115-103 Jan. 9, but they failed to cover as 13.5-point road favorites due to Philly outscoring Denver 31-22 in the fourth quarter to sneak in the backdoor.

76ers at Nuggets: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Nuggets 114, 76ers 104

Money line (ML)

PASS because Denver is the right side but the Nuggets (-200) are too expensive for a straight up win.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

BET NUGGETS -5 (-110) for 1 unit.

With no Embiid to worry about and Denver reinforcing its frontcourt at the trade deadline by acquiring PF Aaron Gordon and C JaVale McGee, the Nuggets can extend their perimeter defense to prevent elite Philly 3-point shooters SG Danny Green and PG Seth Curry from lighting them up.

Furthermore, according to CleaningTheGlass.com, Denver is 10-5 SU with the sixth-highest net rating in points per 100 possessions and the thirrd-best ATS margin (plus-5.1 points) vs. teams in the top-10 of defensive efficiency.

Also, Denver is 5-4 ATS at home against winning teams and 6-3 ATS when laying between 5-7 points while Philly is 2-5 as a road dog.

Over/Under (O/U)

Slight LEAN toward UNDER 220.5 (-105) for one-fifth of a unit because the Nuggets are my preferred side and they play at the second-slowest pace in the league.

According to Pregame.com, more money is on the Under whereas more bets have been placed on the Over and typically the money column is the sharp side of the market.

Bookmakers are reacting to the Under money and have dropped this total from the 222-point opener so if you like the Under you should bet it before the total gets any lower.
