Brandon Aiyuk is back! The 49ers second-year wide receiver is putting together a really nice game in Week 9 against the Arizona Cardinals. San Francisco is getting smoked 31-14, but Aiyuk came up with a nice contested catch in the back of the end zone for a touchdown that cut into Arizona’s lead.
Aiyuk has five catches for 79 yards and a touchdown after the score. His emergence has been one of the few silver linings in this one.

Turnovers were the theme of the first half for the 49ers offense, but they finally got in the end zone with under 30 seconds to go in the second quarter.
On a second-and-goal, Jimmy Garoppolo sat in the pocket and found tight end George Kittle for the latter’s first touchdown of the season. The 49ers badly needed touchdown in that spot to cut the Arizona lead to 17-7.
Kittle has made a big difference for San Francisco’s offense. He did fumble on the 49ers’ second series, but the has four catches for 57 yards and a touchdown.

The Cardinals haven’t had QB Kyler Murray or WR DeAndre Hopkins in practice the first two days this week.

The 49ers might run into a bit of good injury luck in their Week 9 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals. Quarterback Kyler Murray and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins have both missed the first two days of practice for Arizona despite getting extra time off after their Thursday night game in Week 8.
Murray hurt his ankle late in the Cardinals loss to the Packers and reports have varied on his potential availability, but for Arizona it’s not a good sign that the speedy QB has missed the first two days of practice. Their backup QB Colt McCoy is in line to start if Murray can’t play.
For San Francisco though it may be an easier task for them even if Murray does play. His mobility is so key to making Arizona’s offense dangerous that having that limited at all makes stopping Murray at least a little bit less daunting.
Arizona is also loaded at receiver, but Hopkins is their most dangerous player at that spot. He’s been working through a hamstring injury that he aggravated in the Cardinals’ Thursday night game. Hopkins has been a 49ers killer since joining the Cardinals in a pre-season trade a year ago. In three games against San Francisco he has 28 catches for 286 yards and a touchdown. Even if he’s hobbled he’s dangerous enough to be a factor.
Not listed on the practice report is wide receiver AJ Green, who is on the Reserve/COVID-19 list as of Thursday. He’s had a career resurgence in his first year in Arizona and would be another significant absence if he’s unable to suit up Sunday.
All eyes will be on the Cardinals injury report Friday. Two days of non-participation don’t bode well for Murray and Hopkins, but both players are good enough to be impactful with limited or no practice. If they don’t play though, Sunday becomes a very winnable game for the 49ers.

The 49ers got their sixth win of the year with a 20-12 victory over the Arizona Cardinals.
The 49ers weren’t perfect Saturday in Arizona, but they were good enough to pull out their sixth victory of the season. San Francisco’s defense was superb for four quarters and their offense rode a heavy dose of a strong run game in a performance reminiscent of one they might’ve had in 2019 when they went to the Super Bowl.
Here’s our quick recap:
The San Francisco 49ers held on to beat the Arizona Cardinals.
It was a roller coaster, but the 49ers earned their sixth win of the year with a 20-12 victory over the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium.
Here are our observations from throughout the contest:
CJ Beathard is up to three touchdown passes, with two to Kyle Juszczyk vs. the Arizona Cardinals.

The 49ers got a big fourth-down stop from linebacker Fred Warner, and a big run from Jeff Wilson Jr. to put San Francisco in a first-and-goal at the 1. Head coach Kyle Shanahan dialed up a throw to fullback Kyle Juszczyk on the first play from the 1. The fullback hauled it in for his second touchdown catch of the day and his first ever game with two receiving TDs. Robbie Gould missed the extra point though to keep it a one-score game at 20-12, 49ers.

The San Francisco 49ers are on the road this week when they face the Arizona Cardinals from State Farm Stadium in Phoenix on Saturday afternoon.
The 49ers are on a three-game skid and need a win here to snap out of their losing streak. They have been playing well under Nick Mullens and will need a full game out of their squad to compete with Kyler Murray and the Cardinals. Arizona is looking to keep their playoff hope alive, they have won their last two and look for a third win to extend their hopes.
Can the 49ers upset Arizona’s chances for the playoffs? Tune in and find out, here is everything you need to know to stream the action this afternoon.
Prediction:Â I like the 49ers in this spot, if you want you can buy the point to get the line to a TD. I think Nick Mullens and the 49ers come out today and show up Arizona at home.
