Wisconsin 2026 commit QB Jarin Mock receives 247Sports rating

Wisconsin 2026 commit QB Jarin Mock receives 247Sports rating

Wisconsin class of 2026 quarterback commit Jarin Mock‘s stock is trending up after becoming the first member of the Badgers’ 2026 class last week.

He rose from unranked to a three-star recruit on 247Sports. That rise specifically includes an overall rating of 86. He’s currently the No. 47-ranked quarterback in the class of 2026 and No. 32 player from his home state of Ohio.

Mock is Wisconsin’s first big splash in the 2026 cycle. His commitment comes after a recent unofficial visit to the program, that after camping with the program earlier this summer. He chose the Badgers over other offers from Central Michigan, Marshall, UMass and Miami (OH).

Wisconsin’s early identification of Mock’s talent before he was even rated by recruiting services is likely an indication of a future rise in recruiting rankings.

The Pickerington, Ohio native is a rising junior in high school and still has plenty of time to raise his recruiting profile.

Wisconsin’s list of high school quarterback commits in the Luke Fickell and Phil Longo era includes Mock, Mabrey Mettauer (2024) and Landyn Locke (2025). The program is still in search of its first top-ranked QB commit since Graham Mertz in the class of 2019.

Wisconsin basketball class of 2025 commit now a 247Sports four-star prospect

Wisconsin basketball class of 2025 commit now a four-star prospect

Wisconsin basketball class of 2025 commit Zach Kinziger was recently upgraded to a four-star recruit by 247Sports.

The De Pere, Wisconsin native rose to the No. 133 overall player in the class, No. 21 shooting guard and No. 5 recruit from the state of Wisconsin.

This upgrade comes as the Badgers commit excels in summer showcase tournaments ahead of his senior high school season. He recently led De Pere High School to a 5-0 record at the WBY Tournament in Kaukauna, Wisconsin, taking home All-Tournament honors in the process.

The fast-rising prospect also recently entered Rivals’ top 150 in the class of 2025, rising to No. 146. His stock has only risen since committing to the Badgers on August 4, 2023.

Kinziger is one of Wisconsin’s two commits in the class of 2025 at this early stage in the process, along with three-star center Will Garlock. The group currently ranks No. 5 in the nation — though it is only one of a few classes with more than one commit.

The group is set to provide a boost to a Wisconsin program that is looking to snap its seven-year Sweet Sixteen drought. Its class of 2024, headlined by four-star PG Daniel Freitag, has just arrived on campus. So Kinziger and Garlock will not put on a Badger uniform for some time.

But the news cycle surrounding Wisconsin basketball is slow at the moment after the program surprisingly signed Serbian forward Andrija Vukovic on June 10. There are still positive developments to note, even if they won’t impact the program during the 2024-25 season.

Wisconsin’s class of 2024 quarterback commit now a four-star prospect

Some in the industry are high on Wisconsin class of 2024 commit Mabrey Mettauer:

Wisconsin class of 2024 commit quarterback Mabrey Mettauer was bumped up to a four-star prospect on 247Sports’ composite ranking yesterday.

The composite ranking takes into account both 247Sports’ own rankings —  which has Mettauer as a three-star recruit and 87 rating — and ratings from across the industry. The simple translation here is other recruiting sites are high on the Texas native, including Rivals and ESPN which have him as a four-star and On3 which has him at a 88.49 rating.

247Sports’ composite ranking currently has Mettauer as the No. 379 overall player in the class of 2024, the No. 25 quarterback and the No. 62 recruit from his home state of Texas.

Mettauer committed to Wisconsin in late December and was the program’s first player in the class of 2024. His commitment came during Luke Fickell and Phil Longo’s torrid stretch in the transfer portal, committing during the same timeframe as transfer quarterbacks Nick Evers, Braedyn Locke and Tanner Mordecai.

With the young signal-caller now a four-star recruit, Wisconsin’s class of 2024 moves from a blue-chip ratio of 14% to 21.4%. There are more commitments still to come, several of which figure to be blue-chip prospects. But the current mark of 21.4% would mirror that of the program’s 2019 recruit class which finished No. 28 nationally.

The movement did also jump Wisconsin’s class of 2024 up to No. 13 nationally at this early point in the process.

Two Wisconsin targets included in USATODAY’s list of ‘The top offensive linemen in the class of 2022’

USATODAY High School Sports published the 22 top offensive linemen in the class of 2022 today and included in the list are two of Wisconsin

USATODAY High School Sports published the 22 top offensive linemen in the class of 2022 today and included in their list are two of Wisconsin’s top targets in the class.

They are four-star OT Joe Brunner in at No. 7 and four-star OG Carson Hinzman in at No. 14.

Brunner and Hinzman are both Wisconsin natives, are the state’s No. 1 and No. 2 class of 2022 recruits respectively and both have crystal ball predictions to the Badgers.

Wisconsin has built some impressive momentum on the recruiting trail after landing a program-best class of 2021. One of the foundations of that success is landing the top in-state talent.

While Myles Burkett is the program’s only commitment in the class, signs point towards their recruiting momentum continuing as the recruiting cycle continues to heat up.

The best Wisconsin football recruit from every state since 2000

With the traditional National Signing Day now behind us for the class of 2021, we found the best recruit the Wisconsin football program has

The Wisconsin football program isn’t mentioned with the Ohio States, Alabamas and Clemsons of the world when it comes to recruiting.

The program knows what it does well, that being recruiting in the midwest and finding fits for the scheme and culture of the school.

But even so, we have seen the Badgers extend to nearly every region of the country to find talent. And even if some of the program’s best players were transfers (Russell Wilson, J.J. Watt), walk-ons (Jim Leonhard) and unheralded recruits (Jonathan Taylor), there have still been some big-time recruits in the program’s history.

With the traditional National Signing Day now behind us for the class of 2021, we thought it would be valuable to go back in the 247Sports Composite of all-time recruits and find the best recruit Wisconsin has landed from every state. The players had to join the Badger football program after committing, so there were a few names from Utah that were not eligible for the list. We are including, however, the players from the school’s incoming class that have signed their letter of intent.

Before we get started, there are 29 states represented here including the District of Columbia, meaning there are 22 that aren’t. The states you won’t see on this list: Alaska, Arkansas, Delaware, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisana, Maine, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia and Wyoming.

So, here is the best recruit Wisconsin has landed from every state since 2000:
