Florida football hosting blue-chip 2026 QB for Arkansas game

The Gators are getting one of the top quarterbacks in the 2026 cycle back on campus this weekend to see the Arkansas game.

The Florida Gators hosted Jesuit (Tampa, Florida) quarterback Will Griffin about a month ago for the Vanderbilt game, and now he’s set to return for UF’s contest against Arkansas on Saturday, according to 247Sports.

Griffin spoke highly of the program following his last trip to Gainesville, but he’s stayed busy throughout the fall. Alabama, Georgia and Oklahoma have all hosted him over the past few months, and he has an upcoming trip to Ohio State planned.

While he is a class of 2026 recruit, quarterbacks tend to get locked down much earlier than other positions, especially if they are highly ranked prospects.

Griffin is a four-star recruit, according to 247Sports and Rivals. ESPN and On3 have not graded him yet, but the expectation is for Griffin to fight for a fifth star over his next three high school seasons. He’s already played 36 varsity contests — dating back to the seventh grade — and has thrown for 2,227 yards and 18 touchdowns through five games this year.

247Sports ranks him No. 60 overall in the class, No. 5 among quarterbacks and No. 8 among 2026s from the state of Florida.

Four-star RB Javian Mallory talks Florida offer, recruitment with Gators Wire

Florida offered class of 2026 four-star running back Javian Mallory (West Boca High) on Tuesday, joining an already loaded recruiting race.

The Florida Gators have been looking at class of 2026 running back [autotag]Javian Mallory[/autotag] since at least April, but it took until Tuesday (Halloween) for UF staff members to officially extend an offer to the West Boca High star.

The Gators reached out to Mallory’s coaches back in April to see about getting him up to Gainesville for a practice. He made the trip and plans to visit again whenever he can find a date.

His relationship with Florida is still young, but the Gators are doing everything right so far.

“I haven’t really been able to talk to many coaches over there but Coach Juluke,” Mallory said when asked which Florida coach has made the biggest impact on his recruitment so far. “He really made a strong first impression just talking to me and my family. Looking forward to building a strong relationship with him in the future.”

A standout sophomore campaign made it easy for Florida (and others) to pull the trigger on a scholarship offer. Through nine games, Mallory has 1,247 rushing yards and 16 rushing touchdowns. He’s also added 408 yards and six scores through the air.

Florida is smart to get in on Mallory now. Waiting any longer could have hurt with the amount of looks the South Florida rusher is getting. Although his signing day is still more than two years away, Mallory is approaching two dozen offers. Florida State, Miami and Ohio State are a few of the schools recruiting him the hardest right now.

Mallory couldn’t say exactly where Florida stands on his list of colleges, but the Gators did themselves a favor by reaching out.

“It’s still early,” he said. “They offered me during the perfect time because now I’m going to really cut down my list to a few schools.”

Rivals is the only recruiting service that has weighed in on Mallory so far, and he checks in as a four-star recruit ranked No. 89 in his class. Only four running backs are ranked higher than him, and none are from the southeast.

Florida gets On3 RPM pick for coveted 2026 in-state safety

An unrated, in-state Class of 2026 defensive back is being predicted to commit to the Florida Gators, according to On3 prediction machine.

The Florida Gators are the early favorites to land a highly recruited safety from the Class of 2026.

West Orange High School defensive back [autotag]Devin Jackson[/autotag] is projected to commit to the University of Florida, according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, displaying a 99.7% chance.

Jackson is making a name for himself as a high school sophomore, collecting 52 total tackles (26 solo) along with two pass deflections and a fumble recovery.

The 2026 recruit has been offered by not only Florida, but also Western Kentucky, Connecticut, Florida Atlantic and Florida State. Although FSU has yet to make an official offer, that might change within the next two years when more teams hop on the recruiting trail.

Jackson visited FSU once within the past year but has visited Florida a handful times already. The high school sophomore also has a past connection with Gators safety Jordan Castell since they both played together in high school.

Jackson told On3 that he likes to mimic the style of Castell and saw him as a mentor at West Orange High School.

There are no official ratings for the young recruit from either 247Sports or the On3 at this time.
