Pitt DB commit gets official offer from Michigan State football

MSU offers in-state Pitt DB commit

In-state defensive back Elijah Dotson has been committed to Pitt since mid-May, right before official visit season. Now, the Spartans have re-entered the mix, and are trying to pursue the Panthers safety commit.

A 6-foot-2, 175 pound safety, Dotson started his high school football at the University of Detroit Jesuit, but will finish his career at Belleville High School. He is a 4-star prospect, ranked in the top 400.

Look for the Spartans to pursue an official visit from Dotson in 2024.

Michigan State football offers 2025 California DL

Michigan State football offers 2025 California DL JJ Hanne from Santa Margarita Catholic.

At this point in the recruiting cycle, any offer in the 2025 recruiting class is a significant one. If a prospect is earning an offer this late in the cycle, it is someone to monitor as a prospect.

The latest prospect to receive an offer from the MSU coaching staff is JJ Hanne, a 3-star defensive lineman originally from Germany, but now resides in Rancho Santa Margarita, California, attending Santa Margarita Catholic High School.

The 6-foot-5, 280 pound lineman has a significant offer list that features Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Nebraska, Oregon, Texas, Texas A&M and more.

Be on the lookout for MSU to push for a visit this fall.

Nebraska nabs Hawaiian offensive lineman, Michigan State football center target

Hawaiian OL chooses Nebraska over Michigan State, others:

One of the first prospects in the 2025 recruiting class that the new Michigan State coaching staff pursued was Houston Kaahaaina-Torres, a Hawaii native.

The Spartans pursued the interior offensive line target alongside Arizona State, Nebraska and Utah. This time, the Spartans fell just short in the recruitment, losing out on the prospect to another Big Ten school.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers are the team that was able to come out victorious in the battle for the 3-star.

An offensive line target has chosen Oklahoma over MSU, others:

Michigan State new offensive line coach Jim Michalczik has his eyes set on pursuing a Polynesian pipeline to East Lansing. The new OL coach has pursued multiple candidates in the pipeline. Unfortunately for Michalczik, one of the prospects he was after has chosen to go elsewhere.

Darius Afalava was down to four: Michigan State, Oklahoma, Utah and Washington. He made the decision to go with Oklahoma, over the other three.

MSU football 2025 LB target Grant Beerman announces top 4, commitment date

One of the Midwest’s top linebackers has named a top four and has a commitment date set:

Michigan State has honed in on one of the top linebackers in the 2025 recruiting class, pursuing Grant Beerman, a West Chester (OH) native.

Now, with official visit season concluding, Beerman is locking into decision mode and is going to be deciding between four Midwest programs. Beerman is boiling his decision down to Cincinnati, MSU, Purdue and West Virginia.

A decision day is set to be July 6th.

MSU football featured in 3-star DE Sherrod Henderson’s top three

MSU is locked up with a couple of ACC schools, looking to win the recruiting battle for 3-star DE Sherrod Henderson:

Michigan State hosted Sherrod Henderson on an official visit earlier this month. The 3-star defensive end from Rocky Point, North Carolina, has now cut his list of finalists down to three schools.

Of those finalists, Michigan State has made the cut, coming in alongside Duke and Virginia Tech to earn the commitment of the 6-foot-3, 210 pound edge product.

Henderson also announced that his official commitment date would be on June 30.

Michigan State football lands 3-star DB Aydan West

MSU beats out Penn State, a few ACC schools and more for a 3-star Maryland DB recruit:

Michigan State has added to its 2025 recruiting class for the eleventh time on Tuesday. The Spartans have gained the commitment of Aydan West, a defensive back from Gaithersburg, Maryland.

West, a mid 3-star prospect, held power conference offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Duke, Maryland, Penn State, Pitt, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and West Virginia.

West will bring versatility to MSU’s defensive backfield, having the capability to play corner, nickel or safety when he gets to college. As of now, he stacks up at 6’0″ and 185 pounds.

Michigan State has received the commitment of a big time prospect at an underrated position of need. The Spartans will be bolstering their special teams unit with the addition of a big time recruit at the long snapper position.

Jack Wills, a Hudsonville (MI) native, has committed to Michigan State.

Michigan State football makes top 3, commit date coming for DL target

A Florida defensive lineman has named his top three, set a commitment date in July:

Michigan State hosted defensive line prospect Mykah Newton on an official visit to open the month of June, and the Spartans are now trying to close the deal with the 3-star from Newberry, Florida.

Newton has announced his intention to commit on July 18, and has named Michigan State alongside NC State and UCF in his top three finalists.

As of now, their is no indication who is the leader for the 6-foot-2, 255 pound defensive lineman.

3-star Florida DB George Mullins commits to MSU over Mississippi State, Oregon State and others:

Michigan State has made a splash in the 2025 recruiting class during the last official visit weekend of the season. The Spartans picked up the commitment of George Mullins, a defensive back from Bushnell, Florida.

Mullins is a 6-foot-2, 170 pound defensive back. He ranks as a 3-star prospect by both 247Sports and On3.

Mullins chose the Spartans over power conference offers from Illinois, Louisville, Mississippi State, Oregon State, UCF and West Virginia.
