Gators hoops get crystal ball pick for legacy 2025 recruit

The son of a former Gators two-standout is looking to follow in his father’s footsteps.

Florida basketball hosted guard [autotag]CJ Ingram[/autotag] — a UF legacy through his father, [autotag]Cornelius Ingram[/autotag] — on an official visit this past week in what turned out to be a successful effort for Todd Golden and the Gators.

Following the latest stop in Gainesville, 247Sports’ Jacob Rudner submitted his publication’s second crystal ball prediction for the rising senior out of Hawthorne (Florida); the first was granted by Blake Alderman for football.

Last season, Ingram averaged 24 points, 8.5 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 3.7 steals per game, according to MaxPreps. The year prior, averaged 21.6 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 2.1 assists per contest.

As to whether he will try to play both football and basketball like his father or instead focus on one particular sport, Ingram appears to favor the parquet over the gridiron.

“I’m definitely leaning toward basketball now,” he told Pro Insight at the Pangos All-American Camp this month. “I’m pretty much done with football but whatever happens, happens. I’m just trying to enjoy the process while I can.”

Recruiting Summary

Unranked for basketball in the 2025 cycle, Ingram holds two crystal ball predictions for Florida from 247Sports while On3’s recruiting prediction machine gives the Gators a 99.5% chance of signing.

Ingram is ranked three stars by 247Sports and On3 in football, where he is listed as an athlete.

Florida basketball holds official visit with blue-chip combo guard this week

The Gators are hoping to make a big impression on this top combo guard this week.

A great deal of attention of late has been on Florida football’s recruiting effort but lost in the shuffle are what Todd Golden and the men’s basketball program have been up to when it comes to reloading a roster with some key departures from last season.

While there has also been a lot of focus on the NCAA transfer portal, the Gators have also been focused on prep prospects in the upcoming classes. One of the team’s focuses of late is four-star combo guard [autotag]Alex Lloyd[/autotag] out of Fort Lauderdale (Florida) Westminster Academy in the 2025 cycle, who is visiting campus early this week starting Monday, according to 247Sports.

The trip to Gainesville represents the second for the high school junior since receiving an offer from Golden and Co. in July of 2023. Lloyd’s first venture to the O’Connell Center came in November for the season-opener against the Loyola Maryland Greyhounds.

“That visit went well and they made me feel at home,” Lloyd said at the time. “The team felt like a great, family-oriented team. They’re very together and I like their program. I like how they push the ball, shoot threes, and play through their guards. That’s how I like to play.”

Florida currently has no commitments for the 2025 class.

Recruiting Summary

Lloyd is ranked No. 45 overall and No. 9 at combo guard nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at No. 51 overall and No. 13 at the small forward position.

On3’s recruiting prediction machine gives the Dayton Flyers a strong 70.7% chance of signing him, followed by the Florida State Seminoles (21.9%), Florida Atlantic Owls (1.7%) and Miami Hurricanes (1.4%).

LSU women’s basketball lands commitment from 4-star 2025 guard Bella Hines

The Tigers landed their first commitment in the 2025 cycle on Tuesday.

Fresh off an Elite Eight loss to Iowa that ended LSU women’s basketball’s season, coach Kim Mulkey is already turning her attention to the future.

On Tuesday, the Tigers landed their first commitment in the 2025 cycle from Eldorado, New Mexico, guard Bella Hines. A four-star recruit and the top player in the state of New Mexico, Hines is the No. 31 player nationally in the 2025 class, per ESPN.

Hines was recently in Baton Rouge for a visit, where she was in attendance for the Tigers’ first two wins in the NCAA tournament at home against Rice and Middle Tennessee. Clearly, what she saw on the trip was enough to solidify her decision.

We’re still quite early in the 2025 cycle, but Hines provides a nice building block for the class as Mulkey will look to flesh it out in the coming months.

Top-100 2025 small forward, LSU target recaps last season’s trip to Baton Rouge

The Tigers are still looking to pick up their first commitment in the 2025 class.

LSU men’s basketball and coach [autotag]Matt McMahon[/autotag] haven’t landed a commitment in the 2025 class yet, but the team is in the mix for a lot of top players.

Top-100 small forward [autotag]Tylis Jordan[/autotag], a native of Louisville, Georgia, has taken six official visits so far. One of those trips was to Baton Rouge last September, prior to McMahon’s first season with the Tigers.

The 2025 prospect had positive things to say when recounting that trip to On3’s Joe Tipton recently.

“I like what coach (Matt) McMahon is doing down there,” he said. “Obviously when I visited there it was year one, but I like how I got to talk to each and every coach and seeing their plan. They’re slowly but surely building something over there with how they develop their players.”

Jordan ranks as the No. 79 player in the 2025 class per On3, and Alabama is currently a slim favorite to land him per the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.

5-star LSU shooting guard target breaks down Tigers ahead of official visit

The Tigers are pushing for one of the top players in the 2025 class.

LSU is currently 3-2 to start the 2022-23 men’s basketball season, and while it’s looking for a turnaround on the court this season, coach [autotag]Matt McMahon[/autotag] is also focusing on acquiring future talent.

The Tigers are currently one of several teams in the mix for five-star 2025 Vermont Academy (Saxtons River, Vt.) shooting guard [autotag]Joson Sanon[/autotag]. Sanon ranks as a top-10 prospect in the 2025 class, and he’s already taken an official visit to Oklahoma.

He’ll be taking a trip to Arizona this coming weekend followed by an official visit with LSU the following weekend. He recently broke down his early impressions of the Tigers with On3’s Jamie Shaw.

“They play fast over there,” Sanon said. “When I was younger, I was a fan of LSU and everything. I grew up liking them, so, I want to see what the atmosphere is like there. I heard it was great, and I want to see for myself what that looks like.”

LSU is still looking for its first commitment in the 2025 class, and landing Sanon would be a massive addition.

Alabama MBB offers 2025 SG Dorian Jones from Ohio

Recently, the Alabama men’s basketball coaching staff extended an offer to 2025 four-star shooting guard Dorian Jones.

The Alabama coaching staff recently extended an offer to 2025 shooting guard Dorian Jones.

Jones plays for Richmond Heights High School in Cleveland, Ohio. During his sophomore season, Jones helped lead the Spartans to a 29-0 record and a state championship victory as a part of the OHSA’s Chagrin Conference.

The talented guard stands at 6-foot-3 and 160 pounds, according to 247Sports. At the college level, Jones would likely begin his career as a shooting guard with that size and stature. Needless to say, it will be interesting to see his growth and development over the next two years.

Roll Tide Wire breaks down Dorian Jones’ recruiting profile.

Boozer twins will visit Florida basketball in November

The twin sons of Carlos Boozer will return to Gainesville for an official visit in November.

A pair of highly sought-after 2025 prospects announced they’ll visit the University of Florida this fall.

The Boozer twins, Cameron and Cayden, will follow up on an unofficial visit from last season and be on campus the weekend of Nov. 4 and plan to attend the matchup with the Gators and Arkansas Razorbacks on Jan. 13.

Cayden Boozer is especially excited to revisit Gainesville.

“I loved the fans, I loved the atmosphere, the team, and the coaching,” Boozer said. “It was a good experience for us.”

Landing both recruits would be a big get for head coach Todd Golden and the Florida basketball squad, but the prospects stated before they are willing to go their separate ways in college.

“We definitely could be a package deal, we also could go somewhere different,” Cameron Boozer said. “At the end of the day, we’ve got to go somewhere that’s best for us.”

“It would be awesome if we could go to the same school at the same time, but one school might be the best situation for him and it might not be for me.”

The Boozer twins are the sons of former NBA star Carlos Boozer, who played in the league for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers, Utah Jazz and the Chicago Bulls.

According to 247Sports, Cameron Boozer is the consensus No. 1 recruit in the nation with a five-star rating and receives comparisons to Orlando Magic forward and NBA first-round pick Paolo Banchero.

Cayden Boozer, however, is a four-star recruit and nationally ranked No. 17 and is the No. 3 overall point guard.

Cameron Boozer says his twin brother is the best point guard in the nation.

“(Cayden) is a very underrated player and gets overlooked a lot because I am his brother,” Cameron said. “The way he pushes the tempo and controls the pace of the game, the way he attacks the rim and finishes, how crafty he is, his skill and feel for the game is rare and I feel like he should be talked about way more.”

The Florida Gators basketball season is still a couple of months away. The first tipoff against Loyola is set for Nov. 6.

LSU head coach [autotag]Matt McMahon[/autotag] is working on the 2026 recruiting class for the Tigers, and he believes he has found a diamond in Charlotte, North Carolina.

[autotag]Elhadji Diallo[/autotag] is a six-foot-seven, 200-pound, four-star power forward from Charlotte, North Carolina, where he plays for Combine Academy. The Combine Academy Goats finished the 2022 season 36-5 record and were winners of the Hoopstate Championship over Winston-Salem Christian National.
