2025 4-star CB and Aggie commit is currently visiting Texas A&M

One of Texas A&M’s 2025 commits has made his way to College Station for an official visit

It’s no secret that Mike Elko was the perfect choice to lead Texas A&M’s football program, a team that has long been considered a ‘sleeping giant’. With the right man at the helm, the program is poised to make a significant turnaround, heading in a promising new direction.

Over the past six years, the team’s performance on the field has been average at best, but consistent success in recruiting, thanks to Fisher’s persuasive approach, set a high bar for best. However,  Elko. Yet, he rose to the challenge, matching and even surpassing his predecessor’s achievements.

Elko’s successful tenure as Duke’s head coach was just a glimpse of what’s to come on the field, while the Aggies 2025 recruiting, his first at the helm, is now 15 commitments deep, led by five-star quarterback Husan Longstreet.

This week, heading into the weekend, Elko and his staff have hosted several committed and uncommitted 2025 and 2026 prospects. As of Friday, 2025 four-star cornerback Adonyss Currie, who committed to Texas A&M late last month, is currently visiting College Station for an official visit.

Currie is an elite athlete on the field, performing at wide receiver and cornerback during his career at Quartz Hill HS, recording 47 receptions, 865 yards, and nine touchdowns, including 18.4 yards per reception during his 2023 junior season. On defense, Currie produced 35 tackles, three sacks, four interceptions (one returned for a TD), and six pass breakups on the year.

Standing at 6-1 and 165 pounds, Currie has room to add more mass to his already impressive frame.

According to 247Sports, Currie is currently the 42nd-ranked prospect, the 5th-ranked cornerback, and the third-ranked player in California.

2025 4-star WR out of Pearland (TX) has placed Texas A&M in his final program list

Texas A&M is on the verge of landing 2025 4-star CB Cobey Seller’s Pearland teammate

Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class added its 12th commit on Friday afternoon. Four-star cornerback Adonyss Currie chose the Aggies over several blue-chip programs, including the Texas Longhorns.

Already assembling a highly talented cornerback class, Currie joins four-star CB Cobey Sellers, who committed to the program just two weeks ago out of Pearland, Texas. The Aggies are now on the verge of landing Seller’s Shadow Creek HS teammate.

Exciting news for Texas A&M as 2025 four-star wide receiver Jacorey Watson has included the Aggies in his final four program list. This puts Texas A&M in contention with Baylor, Houston, Ole Miss, and Boston College. The anticipation builds as Watson prepares to make his final decision on Sunday, July 2.

So far, Mike Elko and his staff have yet to land a wide receiver in the 2025 cycle, making Watson a high-priority prospect heading into the summer. Texas A&M offered Watson back in January before taking an unofficial visit to College Station the following month.

Just like Sellers, Watson is extremely versatile. During his 2023 junior season, he played quarterback and wide receiver, throwing for 850 yards and ten touchdowns while possessing the speed and quickness to transition to receiver at the next level easily.

According to 247Sports, Watson is currently the 60th-ranked wide receiver prospect in the cycle and the 61st-ranked prospect in Texas.

Texas A&M continues to dominate the California 2025 recruiting trail

Texas A&M’s recruiting success in California has been nothing short of elite

What an offseason it has been for Texas A&M on the recruiting trail under first-year head coach Mike Elko. The Aggies 2025 recruiting class has once again risen in the rankings after landing the second-top-ranked prospect out of California, four-star cornerback Adonyss Currie.

Joining five-star quarterback commit Husan Longstreet, the No. 1-ranked player in California, Currie is just two spots below him at No. 3 in 247Sports’ updated recruiting rankings. Five-star cornerback Dijon Lee out of Mission Viejo (CA) is the second-ranked prospect in the state and recently included Texas A&M in his final four program list.

With the high possibility of securing Lee’s commitment as soon as this summer, the Aggies have dominated the California recruiting landscape, and it’s not just Elko who deserves credit.

Throughout the start of the year, Texas A&M cornerback coaches Ishmael Aristide and Jordan Peterson combined with Aggies defensive coordinator Jay Bateman have traveled up and down The Golden State, not only developing relationships with Currie and Lee, as four-star linebacker Noah Mikhail is set to visit College Station on June 7 before announcing his intentions on June 30.

During the 2023 season, the Aggies consistently dealt with a lack of talent and depth in the secondary, leading to Elko adding seven defensive backs through the transfer portal. The addition of Currie is a good sign that under Elko and Bateman’s defensive guidance, Texas A&M’s future pass defense could be one of the best in the SEC.

2025 4-star CB out of Lancaster (CA) has committed to Texas A&M

Texas A&M has landed another big-time defensive back commitment in the 2025 recruiting class!

Boom! Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class has added its 12th commit and fourth cornerback prospect, as four-star CB Adonyss Currie has chosen the Aggies over Nebraska, Miami, and Texas, announcing his intentions on Friday afternoon.

Just a couple of weeks after four-star cornerback Cobey Sellers committed to the program, the Pearland, Texas product has been pivotal in the recruitment process. Sellers has been assisting head coach Mike Elko and his staff in recruiting several of his fellow 2025 prospects, including Currie, who has been in the fold for the last couple of months.

While his commitment surprised some, those who trust Elko’s process should know momentum had been building since Currie visited College Station last April 13.

On the field, Currie is an elite athlete playing wide receiver and cornerback during his career at Quartz Hill HS, recording 47 receptions, 865 yards, and nine touchdowns, including 18.4 yards per reception during his 2023 junior season. On defense, Currie produced 35 tackles, three sacks, four interceptions (one returned for TD), and six pass breakups on the year.

Standing at 6-1 and 165 pounds, Currie has room to add more mass to his already impressive frame. According to 247Sports, Currie is currently positioned as the 42nd-ranked prospect, the 5th-ranked cornerback and the 3rd-ranked player in California.
