Indianapolis Colts schedule: Only one prime-time game in 2024

The Indianapolis Colts have just one prime-time game on their 2024 schedule. Here is what you need to know about it.

The Indianapolis Colts have only one prime-time game on their 2024 schedule, and it comes in Week 11 on the road against the New York Jets on Sunday Night football.

This is a matchup that should provide the Colts with a good midseason test. The return of quarterback Aaron Rodgers immediately makes the Jets a playoff-caliber team, and one with aspirations of being among the elite in the AFC.

Along with Rodgers, the Jets offense features Garrett Wilson at wide receiver who can stress any secondary, while defensively, the Jets had one of the better units in football last season, ranking 10th in points per game allowed and second in yards per game.

As already mentioned, this is the only prime-time matchup that the Colts have all season. In fact, of their 17 regular season games, 15 of them begin at 1:00 PM ET. The only other non-1:00 kickoff is in Week 15 against Denver, which begins at 4:25 PM ET.

This matchup with the Jets comes right in the midst of what, on paper, appears to be the toughest three-game stretch of the season for the Colts. Before playing the Jets, the Colts are at home to face the Buffalo Bills, while after the Jets, they head back home to face the Detroit Lions.

With Anthony Richardson back under center, weapons around him, and what should be one of the more disruptive defensive fronts in football, the Colts should be considered an ascending team, especially when you take into account that it’ll be Year 2 under Shane Steichen and that they barely missed out on the playoffs last season.

This prime-time game will be a prime opportunity – pun intended – to showcase their potential on the national stage.

Indianapolis Colts Schedule: Toughest three-game stretch

A difficult three-game stretch in the second half of the season could play a key role in determining the Colts’ 2024 season.

The Indianapolis Colts face a difficult three-game stretch from Weeks 10 through 12 that could have a major impact on their 2024 season, depending on the outcomes of those games.

In Week 10, the Colts face the Buffalo Bills at home for a 1:00 PM kickoff.

In Week 11, the Colts travel to New York to face the Jets for their lone prime-time game of the year taking place on Sunday Night football.

Then, in Week 12, the Colts are back home to take on the Detroit Lions at 1:00 PM.

Last season, both the Bills and Lions were playoff teams, with the Lions being on the cusp of making it to the Super Bowl. Once again, both teams expect to be among the elite within their respective conferences.

The Jets’ 2023 season was derailed by an Achilles injury to Aaron Rodgers, but his return makes them a playoff contender and a team that we know has Super Bowl aspirations.

In each of these games, the Colts will have to contend with high-level quarterback play, with Buffalo and Detroit both ranking top-six in points per game scored in 2023.

On the other side of the ball, the Bills and Jets had two of the better defenses in the NFL last season by points per game allowed. Detroit was very good against the run but struggled against the pass.

The good news for the Colts is that two of these three games are being played at home. However, prior to their Week 10 matchup with Buffalo, the Colts will be coming off a two-game road trip against Houston and Minnesota–meaning that from Weeks 8 through 11, three of those four games will be on the road.

This stretch of games also takes place during the second half of the season, before the Colts have had their late Week 14 bye. So, from a rest standpoint, there won’t be any reprieve beforehand.

Despite being without Anthony Richardson for most of last season, the Colts finished the year 9-8, just missing out on the playoffs. Continuity was the theme of the offseason, with GM Chris Ballard prioritizing retaining his own players, and that element – on both sides of the ball – will have to be a catalyst in the 2024 season.

“When you have your system in place, it helps big time, especially with the players understanding the verbiage and terminology,” Head coach Shane Steichen said. “But really trying to stay on the cutting edge of things because this league is always changing. So if we can do that and build on what we did last year, I’ll be excited for the 2024 season.”

At the end of the day, games aren’t played on paper, and who knows, maybe as the season unfolds there is a different stretch of games that emerges as the most difficult. But sitting here in mid-May, when paper is all we have to go off of, these three games could play a key role in defining the Colts’ season.

WATCH: Buccaneers announce their 2024 schedule

The Buccaneers drop their 2024 schedule announcement.

Every year NFL teams up the ante with their season schedule announcements. The Buccaneers are no exception. Where some teams lean into humor and meme-worthiness, Tampa Bay opted to use the past to look into the future and compared art to football. Titled “Curated for The Krewe,” the clip features current and former players such as Mike Evans, Mike Alstott, Ronde Barber and is bookended with clips from the late Bucs Hall-of-Famer Lee Roy Selmon:

Patriots 2024 preseason schedule: Three NFC opponents announced

The Patriots will face three NFC opponents in the preseason

It’ll be a three-game slate against NFC opponents for the New England Patriots in the recently revealed 2024 preseason schedule.

The Patriots will be facing the Carolina Panthers, Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders.

A preseason opener against the Panthers makes all of the sense in the world considering they’re also a rebuilding team like the Patriots. The game against the Eagles is actually good news because it means there will likely be a joint practice before that matchup.

Both teams are comfortable with one another, and Patriots coach Jerod Mayo and Eagles coach Nick Sirianni have already discussed the possibility.

Meanwhile, the preseason finale against the Commanders could create a head-to-head opportunity between rookie quarterbacks Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels. That would make for some early drama before the regular season.

Here’s the Patriots’ full 2024 preseason schedule.

Week Date Opponent Time (ET)
1 Thursday, Aug. 8 vs. Panthers 7:00 p.m. Tickets
2 Thursday, Aug. 15 vs. Eagles 7:00 p.m. Tickets
3 Sunday, Aug. 25 at Commanders 8:00 p.m. Tickets

Buccaneers 2024 schedule revealed

The Buccaneers’ 2024 schedule has dropped, featuring four primetime games.

The Buccaneers’ 2024 season schedule is now out. It features four primetime games, including a Super Bowl LV rematch with the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football in Week 9. The other primetime games include a Week 5 trip to Atlanta for Thursday Night Football, another Monday Night game against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 7 and a late-season matchup with the Dallas Cowboys for Sunday Night Football.

In addition to their NFC South foes, the Bucs face the NFC East and AFC West this season. In addition their cross-divisional schedule, Tampa Bay will play three 2023 playoff teams: Baltimore, the Detroit Lions in Week2 and the San Francisco 49ers in Week 10.

Tampa Bay’s bye week comes later than it did last season, with team taking off Week 11 this season. The Bucs have no international games scheduled for the 2024 season.

The Bucs’ preseason slate only takes them out of Florida once with their first game against the Bengals. The rest of their games are in-state, first with a visit to the Jacksonville Jaguars then hosting the Miami Dolphins to close the preseason.

Here’s the Packers’ 3-game preseason schedule in 2024

The Packers play the Browns, Broncos and Ravens during the 2024 preseason.

The Green Bay Packers will play back-to-back road games to open the preseason but then finish the exhibition schedule at home in 2024.

Matt LaFleur’s team will go to Cleveland to play the Browns and to Denver to play the Broncos before finishing up against the Baltimore Ravens at home.

Here’s the Packers’ 3-game preseason schedule:

Saturday, Aug. 10: at Cleveland Browns, 3:25 p.m.
Sunday, Aug. 18: at Denver Broncos, 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 24: vs. Baltimore Ravens: Noon

The Packers will get to experience all three timeslots during the preseason — early, afternoon and night. In a helpful piece of scheduling, the Packers are home to finish the preseason, which should be useful for LaFleur as his team preps for the Week 1 trip to Brazil to play the Eagles in an international game.

All three preseason games will be televised on the Packers TV Network.

Chiefs ‘crush’ opponents in creative 2024 schedule reveal

The Kansas City #Chiefs “crushed” their 2024 opponents in a creative schedule reveal on Wednesday night.

The Kansas City Chiefs have crushed opponents on their path to wins in Super Bowls LVII and LVIII, and decided to use a hydraulic press to reveal their 2024 schedule on Wednesday evening.

Though their first two matchups of the season were revealed earlier this week, and news broke about their Christmas Day matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers this morning, the rest of Kansas City’s schedule wasn’t made public.

On Twitter, the Chiefs posted a video of items representing their 2024 opponents being crushed by the hydraulic press as a creative way to release their schedule.

Check out the unique video below:

Despite the extreme difficulty of its 2024 schedule, Kansas City has plenty of reasons to be confident heading into its Super Bowl defense campaign next season.

General manager Brett Veach has revamped the Chiefs’ receiving corps, and with many of the team’s key players returning for a chance to three-peat as champions, the sky remains the limit for Kansas City.

Packers scheduled to play 4 straight primetime games late in 2024 season

Between Weeks 13-16, the Packers will play four straight primetime games: vs. the Dolphins, Lions, Seahawks and Saints.

The 2024 schedule for the Green Bay Packers is officially out, and one stretch stands out above all the rest: four straight primetime games between Week 13 and Week 16.

Barring a flex scheduling change, nationally televised audiences will see the Packers for a month straight during the heart of playoff positioning time in the NFL.

Here’s the stretch of primetime games for the Packers spanning November and December:

— vs. Miami Dolphins on Nov. 28 (Thanksgiving night)
— at Detroit Lions on Dec. 5 (Thursday Night Football)
— at Seattle Seahawks on Dec. 15 (Sunday Night Football)
— vs. New Orleans Saints on Dec. 23 (Monday Night Football)

“That will definitely will be a tough four-game stretch,” said coach Matt LaFleur, per Packers.com. “Going into the season, those are four teams that I think project to be very tough football teams. But it is nice to have two of those, at least, at home with San Francisco and then following it up with Miami on Thanksgiving, which is great to have a Thanksgiving night game in Lambeau.”

Last season, the Packers were 2-3 in primetime games, with early-season losses to the Lions at home and Raiders on the road mixed in with big wins over the Chiefs at home and Vikings on the road and a wild loss to the Giants during the late-season surge.

The Packers are scheduled to play the maximum five total primetime games in 2024: the Week 1 opener in Brazil against the Eagles and the four-game stretch from Week 13-16. After returning home from Brazil, the Packers will play 10 straight games in the noon or 3:25 timeslot.

The season finale’s date and time is currently to be determined, so it’s possible the Week 18 matchup against the Chicago Bears could be flexed into primetime.

New England Patriots 2024 complete schedule
