No luck for the Chicago Bulls as they land the No. 11 pick in the 2024 draft lottery

What should the Bulls do now that they know they will be picking with the No. 11 overall pick?

No luck for the Chicago Bulls yet again as they landed the No. 11 pick in the 2024 draft lottery. There were hopes that the Bulls might get lucky a la the Atlanta Hawks in order to have better odds of landing a transformational player — or an asset to trade for one.

Now, the Bulls still have an asset of some value they can use in the draft or in a trade, but with the pick being near the end of the lottery range in an especially weak draft, that may not create the sort of transformational results many were hoping for.

What should the Bulls do now that they know they will be picking with the No. 11 overall pick? Keep the pick and fill a position of need? Use it on the best player still available in the draft, regardless of the position? Or trade it for proven talent that fits Chicago’s timeline?

What would it mean for the Chicago Bulls to move up in the 2024 draft?

Whatever they do with the pick, better lottery odds would help.

Breaking down the Chicago Bulls’ 2024 NBA draft lottery odds, what would it mean for the Bulls to move up in the 2024 draft? After three seasons in a row of institutional stagnation with the team’s front office making no deals of significance at the trade deadline and in the offseason, the draft has been the tool of choice for Chicago to team build.

But whether they keep the pick to make a selection this summer or use it to entice an opposing franchise to trade one of their star players to the Bulls, better lottery odds would help in either scenario.

But what is the range of likely slots that Chicago’s first round pick in the lottery might fall?

The folks behind the “Bulls Central” YouTube channel took a closer look on a recent episode focused on Sunday afternoon’s draft lottery. Check it out for yourself in the clip embedded above.

Bulls select player to represent team at the NBA’s 2024 draft lottery

The Chicago Bulls have big hopes in the 2024 NBA draft as part of their plan to overhaul the team.

The Chicago Bulls have big hopes in the 2024 NBA draft as part of their plan to overhaul the team after three seasons in a row with little in the way of efforts to make the ball club better via trades. It remains to be seen whether the Bulls’ front office will keep the pick or use it in one of those aforementioned deals to build the team up, but regardless of what path they decide on, they have also decided who will represent Chicago at the league’s 2-24 draft lottery.

Per the NBA, that would be Bulls small forward Julian Philips, one of several players representing their teams in the draft lottery.

Other such examples include Brandon Miller of the Charlotte Hornets, Ausar Thompson of the Detroit Pistons, Brandin Podziemski from the Golden State Warriors, Scoot Henderson of the Portland Trail Blazers and Scottie Barnes of the Toronto Raptors.

Whether that will imbue Chicago with any extra luck will be seen at the big even, which will take place on Sunday, May 12 at 3 p.m. ET on ABC.
