Alexis Morris declares for WNBA draft

LSU will be losing its floor general next year.

LSU will be losing one of its star backcourt leaders.

[autotag]Alexis Morris[/autotag] announced her plans to enter the WNBA draft on Tuesday.

Morris had a whirlwind college career. She began with [autotag]Kim Mulkey[/autotag] at Baylor before leaving the program. She then had stops at Rutgers and Texas A&M before reuniting with Mulkey at LSU.

At LSU, Morris took a major step. She played 32.7 minutes per game in her time with the Tigers. Prior to joining LSU, she averaged just 7.3 per game. Over the last two years, that number rose to 15.2.

Morris came up big for LSU on its national title run and averaged 23 points per game over LSU’s last three games.

Upon returning from Houston, Morris threw out the first pitch at LSU’s Tuesday night baseball game.

Morris was a floor general at LSU and a key part of Mulkey’s rebuild. It’ll be tough to replace a point guard of her caliber.

Endyia Rogers to return to college basketball; Duck future uncertain

Oregon guard Endyia Rogers has withdrawn her name from the WNBA draft, but didn’t say if she was returning to Oregon.

Senior guard Endyia Rogers has announced she has withdrawn her name from the WNBA draft and will return to college basketball to use up her one remaining year of eligibility.

But she didn’t say whether she would be returning to Oregon or not.

According to James Crepea of the Oregonian, Rogers spent some home in Dallas where the Final Four occurred and she was able to hang out with LSU’s Angel Reese.

Oregon could use Rogers for another season, especially with the news of Te-Hina Paopao entering the transfer portal. With Paopao gone, the Ducks return just a few players from last year’s squad which includes Chance Gray, Phillipina Kyei and Grace VanSlooten.

Rogers had an outstanding season for the Ducks as she averaged 16 points and four assists per game. With a stellar recruiting class coming in, having a veteran like Rogers still in the fold would help out with the younger players’ development.

When will Caitlin Clark be eligible for the WNBA Draft?

Just how long will it be before Iowa women’s basketball star Caitlin Clark can play in the WNBA?

Iowa women’s basketball superstar Caitlin Clark is taking the sports world by storm.

After her explosive 2023 women’s NCAA tournament Final Four performance, she helped her Hawkeyes reach Sunday’s national title game against LSU.

If Clark’s team is victorious, it would be Iowa’s first-ever championship in women’s basketball. The team has only made two Final Four appearances, this year and in 1993.

Many will wonder if Clark will turn an all-time women’s college hoops career into an WNBA career after this season, but that won’t come until 2024 at the earliest.

Clark isn’t eligible to declare for the 2023 WNBA Draft since she is still a junior with Iowa.

However, she could opt to stay with the program after the 2023-24 season if she chooses to use the extra year of eligibility granted to NCAA athletes because of the COVID-19 pandemic, per Sporting News.

Whenever she does want to go pro, it’s incredibly likely she’d be the highly coveted top pick in the WNBA Draft.

Until then, she’ll be lighting up the scoreboard in Johnson County, Iowa.
