4 Oklahoma signees take part in the All-American Bowl

Oklahoma’s 2023 recruiting class continued their All-Star appearances with four more Sooners playing in the All-American Bowl.

While we saw almost a third of Oklahoma’s 2023 recruiting class down in Orlando for the Under Armour All-American game, four additional 2023 signees were in San Antonio, Texas preparing for their All-American bowl.

Joshua Bates, Makari Vickers, Jasiah Wagoner, and Samuel Omosigho all participated in the All-American bowl Saturday in San Antonio. Omosigho, a four-star linebacker made multiple tackles as a starter for the West squad.

Joshua Bates, another offensive line recruit for Bill Bedenbaugh spent time at center all week and played in that spot during the game. He’ll be playing center in college as well. Bates strength and IQ were noted during the week.

Four-star defensive back Jasiah Wagoner had some nice practices during the week. He capped that off with a nice showing during the game. He also showed some athleticism returning punts for the West squad.

Last but not least, the lone Sooner on the East squad was Makari Vickers. One of Oklahoma’s signees from the state of Florida, Vickers is a unique and competitive cornerback that is known for sticky coverage.

The East dominated the game from the very beginning but it was encouraging to see more contributions from future Sooners.

Oklahoma’s 2023 class has officially concluded their high school careers and over half of their signees will now prepare and pack for Norman as they enroll mid-year.

P.J. Adebawore, Lewis Carter shine brightest at Under-Armour All-American game

Oklahoma had seven signees in the Under-Armour All-American game. PJ Adebawore and Lewis Carter stood out for the Sooners.

The future of Oklahoma Football was on full display Tuesday evening as seven Oklahoma signees took the field in Orlando for the Under-Armour All-American game.

Jackson Arnold, Jaquaize Pettaway, Cayden Green, PJ Adebawore, Jacobe Johnson, Lewis Carter, and Peyton Bowen represented the Crimson & Cream at the all-star event for Team Speed.

Five-star QB Jackson Arnold dominated all week during the practices and earned captain status and was the starter for Team Speed. Arnold was under duress much of the game but threw a dart for a touchdown to Utah WR commit Mikey Matthews. Four-star offensive lineman Cayden Green pancaked an opposing defender which gave Arnold the bit of time he needed to get the pass off.

Arnold showed why he is considered one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the nation as he ripped off multiple runs via scramble or zone-read. The only blemish for Arnold will be the interception he threw that was tipped by DL Peter Woods of Team Phantom before being intercepted by four-star Texas signee Derek Williams.

Defensively is where the Sooners shined the brightest. Four-star LB signee Lewis Carter and five-star EDGE AdepojuAdebawore were everywhere for Team Speed.

Adebawore recorded a sack and had multiple other pressures while Lewis Carter pressured the quarterback on blitzes and did an excellent job making tackles running sideline to sideline.

Adebawore made a strong case for being the second-best player on the field behind fellow five-star and Clemson signee Peter Woods.

On the backend, four-star signee Jacobe Johnson, a homegrown Sooner, had a great rep in coverage.

All in all, it was a nice showing from some of Oklahoma’s stars of tomorrow. Oklahoma has two other commits playing in the All-American bowl in San Antonio. Four-star CB Jasiah Wagoner and four-star linebacker Samuel Omosigho wrapping up the all-star game circuit for Oklahoma’s 2023 class.

How to watch future Sooners in Under Armour All-American game?

Seven Oklahoma Sooners’ signees are set to take part in Under Armour All-American Game, and here’s how to watch.

Oklahoma’s future will be on display in the 2023 Under Armour All-American game on Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m. CT on ESPN.

Jackson Arnold, Adepoju Adebawore, Cayden Green, Jaquaize Pettaway, Jacobe Johnson, Lewis Carter, and Peyton Bowen will all take part in the annual all-star game.

Seven of Oklahoma’s 16 blue-chip signees will provide a sneak preview of their talents before heading to Norman to begin their college careers in earnest.

The Sooners have had several players stand out in this week’s practice, but perhaps none have been better than Adebawore. His speed, strength, and bend have stood out in individual drills against the nation’s top offensive linemen. The five-star edge rusher has all the tools to be an elite player at the collegiate level.

Armed with a top-five recruiting class in 2023, the Sooners have a group of players that will be a part of the foundation of Oklahoma’s future. From the top of the signees list down to the lowest-rated player, the Sooners have added a bunch of talent in the 2023 cycle.

Some of the best in Oklahoma’s signing class will have a chance to show Sooners fans why they were so highly regarded before they ever step foot on campus in the Under Armour All-American Game.
