Leave it to Phillies fans to find creative new ways to curse out their favorite baseball team.
Philadelphia Phillies fans becoming completely unhinged after losing is hysterically on brand.
Fans of Philadelphia sports teams are going through it right now. In the last year, nearly every major professional team in the city has brutally lost in the post-season.
The Philadelphia Eagles lost in the Super Bowl. Philadelphia Union, the city’s soccer team, lost in the MLS Cup. The Philadelphia 76ers did Philadelphia 76ers things. The Phillies lost a World Series and just face-planted in the NLCS. Woof.
Philly is the city of “brotherly love” and the “brotherly shove,” but hell hath no fury like sports fans scorned.

All nightmares, no dreams.#RedOctober is done and here’s what @phillies fans have to say…
“[Expletive] the Phillies, honestly,” one fan said. “Let’s trade the whole [expletive] team. This team [expletive] blew it today,” another chimed in.
Oh my.
But they weren’t entirely done letting out their emotions. Toward the end of the cathartic video, one poor soul had had enough of talking about the team. “Move [expletive] on! I’m crying instead of dancing!” Yikes.
How long do you think they’ve been sitting on this?
Hold up. Wait a minute. Y’all thought I was finished?
The Arizona Diamondbacks don’t care about the narratives. They are re-writing the story. After being down two games in the NLCS, the Snakes are very much alive and rallied to beat the Philadelphia Phillies. After such a huge win, the levels of trolling have escalated to top-tier levels.
With the good vibes flowing and plenty of celebratory drinks, Arizona blasted Meek Mill’s Dreams and Nightmares, a known hype song for the city of Philadelphia.
The opening lyrics to the track are I used to pray for times like this, to rhyme like this. So, I had to grind like that to shine like this.
The irony of the lyrics and moment is practically oozing. Holy troll job, Batman. This is a coordinated effort. Whoever decided this needs a raise.
Bryce Harper might not want to check social media for a while.
In case you missed it, the Philadelphia Phillies are having a rough week. After winning the first two games in the NLCS, they were stunned by the Arizona Diamondbacks, who are on one of the most improbable runs that baseball has likely ever seen. In a perplexing turn of events, the Phillies’ roster, which contains otherworldly amounts of talent, ran out of gas down the stretch. Wild times.
MLB fans were so disappointed with the team’s production that they were looking for anything to blame, including clothing choice. Harper rolled up to Game 7 in the freshest Philadelphia 76ers city edition gear that money can buy, but fans were not impressed.

All reports indicate the snakes are, indeed, alive.
The Arizona Diamondbacks likely kept their World Series hopes alive on Thursday night with a walk-off 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 3 of the NLCS.
The win marked Arizona’s first in the NLCS since 2001. That team went on to win the World Series, and this year’s squad will hope the same fate awaits it as it avoided falling into a 3-0 hole and cut the Phillies’ series lead to just 2-1.
During the Diamondbacks’ Game 3 home win at Chase Field in Phoenix, a fan was spotted on the broadcast holding a sign that simply read “Snakes Alive.”
That has apparently become the rallying cry for the team ahead of a potentially pivotal Game 4 on Saturday night. Before the game, stadium operations staff delivered “Snakes Alive” signs to seemingly every seat behind home plate.
Yesterday, a fan made this “SNAKES ALIVE” sign and the Dbacks won.
The snakes are indeed still alive, but if they want to avoid having to become just the 15th team in MLB history to overcome a 3-1 deficit, they need to win on Friday night in the second of three home games before the series flips back to Philadelphia.
MLB fans are going to want to watch this one. The league released glorious new footage of Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Alek Thomas zooming around the bases as he scored the tying run in NLCS Game 3.
Admittedly, I thought the Philadelphia Phillies would steamroll the Diamondbacks in their stadium. It’s been raining homers and showing no signs of stopping. But Arizona brought giant umbrellas and lots of guts, too.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, Tommy Pham got his first hit of the series. Thomas then replaced Pham to serve as a pinch-runner. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. steps up to the plate and promptly bangs a baseball down the third baseline and deep into left field.
Post-game, Thomas was asked what made him feel that Arizona was never out of a game. “I just think it’s our demeanor. It’s the way we go about the game and everything. We’re never too high on everything,” explained Thomas.
During his moment of reflection, Thomas quickly added: “We never give up, and that’s our mentality.”
The roof has its safety issues but will be operational for the NLCS.
The National League Championship Series moves to Arizona after the Phillies took Game 1 and 2 at home. And baseball fans will certainly notice a different scene at the Diamondbacks’ home park of Chase Field.
Notably, Chase Field has a retractable roof that the team can no longer open or close when fans are present, which forces the stadium operators to make a decision about the roof before each game. Basically, the cable system is compromised, and there is concern that a cable could snap and endanger fans.
For the NLCS, the Diamondbacks plan to have the roof closed for Thursday’s Game 3 given the 103-degree forecast and open for Game 4 and Game 5 (if necessary).
As for that broken roof, the D-backs still don’t have immediate plans to fix it and are prioritizing other issues with the aging stadium instead. Via azcentral:
“That was going to be priority No. 1, but since we know we’re going to be here at least three or four more years, we probably need to do the (LED) sports lights right now,” Hall said, adding the current lights were close to not being “at standard” for Major League Baseball.
He added that upgrading the video boards and sound system were high-priority items, as well, both above the roof, which can still open and close, just not when fans are present due to safety concerns.
The postseason atmosphere at Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park has been unmatched by the rest of baseball. And honestly, an underrated reason for that is the Phillies fans’ ability to keep opposing fans from getting tickets. Even large away fanbases like the Braves were generally unrepresented during the NLDS.
So, nobody should have expected much of an Arizona Diamondbacks contingent at all for Games 1 and 2 of the NLCS in Philadelphia. One Phoenix sports reporter learned that the hard way on Tuesday night.
As Fox 10’s Troy Hayden was reporting from Citizens Bank Park ahead of Game 2, the anchors back in Phoenix were expecting the reporter to catch up with some D-backs fans in enemy territory. The problem: He couldn’t find a single D-backs fan after looking for hours.
Oh my god this phoenix news station was trying to find a diamondbacks fan at the Phillies game for an interview, and they looked for TWO HOURS and still couldn’t find anyone
And when you think about it, that all makes sense. The get-in price for the games in Philly were pushing $300, and when you take into account flights, hotels and a potentially hostile home crowd, not many Arizona fans were looking to make that trip. As a relatively new team with no national fanbase, D-backs fans were always going to be tough to find at Game 2.
On the flip side, it might end up being cheaper for Phillies fans to travel to Phoenix (flights, hotel and game tickets at Chase Field) than it would be to purchase secondary market tickets in Philly.
Still, MLB fans thought it was hilarious that a reporter simply could not find one D-backs fan to speak to. Not even one.
Good morning, winners! I hope you’re well and you’ve had a fantastic week so far. Happy Wednesday! We’re halfway through the week.
Hey, remember when I wrote that the Rangers had some Team of Destiny vibes going? Yeah, that was fun, right? Right. I think that was totally fair to say about the postseason Texas has had so far.
But, clearly, I need to apologize to the Phillies.
Because after Philadelphia’s 10-0 thrashing of the Diamondbacks in Game 2 of the NLCS, it feels a lot like destiny — and just about every other cosmic force — is on its side, too. Especially when it comes to those bats.
The Phillies are hitting just about everything right now. The bats are on fire. They’re the first team to have multiple 10-run games in a single postseason since the 2009 Phillies (lololol), according to ESPN. This team is outscoring opponents by a whopping 33 runs. The Phillies have led at the end of 57 innings so far this postseason and only trailed in two total, per MLB.com’s Paul Casella.
It ain’t just the bats. Aaron Nola’s inconsistencies on the mound during the regular season have completely vanished. He pitched a shutout through at least six innings for the third time in these playoffs. That’s literally Cole Hamels-esque stuff — Hamels was the last pitcher to do that for the Phils.
The Phillies aren’t undefeated like the Rangers this postseason, but they certainly do feel unstoppable right now.
Philadelphia still has to win two more games to close this thing out and the next two are on the road. It won’t be easy. Well, it shouldn’t be easy. But the Phillies have made everything else look pretty simple so far in these playoffs, so hey. Maybe it will be.
Of course, it’s Philadelphia. Here’s why from Andrew:
“The gap between the environment at Citizens Bank Park and the rest of the playoff field is almost absurd if we’re being honest. Sure, the Phillies have given their fans plenty to cheer about this postseason, but that crowd has been electric from the opening pitch and onward in every game. It’s the only crowd that has left teams visibly rattled this postseason, and their fans take pride in that.”
We all know how fans from Philadelphia can get. They’re loud. They’re boisterous. They can be downright rude at times, too, for sure. But one thing you can never say about them is that they don’t show up for their team. They always do. And they have done so in a big way for the Phillies this postseason.
He obviously has a big history with the brand as a signature athlete. So does Iverson. Now, they’re both running the brand as executives. Talk about a full-circle moment.
First order of business? Signing LSU star Angel Reese to an NIL deal. Meghan Hall has more.
“Fittingly, Reese is balling out of control (in the best way possible). Per Nick DePaula of Boardroom, NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal, who just landed on the leadership team at Reebok, is making Reese the first athlete to sign an NIL deal with the company.
…
Reese is partnering with Reebok to create a capsule collection that will launch during the back half of 2024. The company will also have her give input on product designs and provide feedback for a relaunch of Reebok Basketball in 2025.“
Can’t wait to see what Reebok’s return to hoops looks like. This is going to be so much fun. The 90s are really back, folks.
Quick hits: The Rockets Kevin Porter Jr. mess … Leave the Chargers’ super fan alone … and more
The Philadelphia Phillies are crushing baseballs and souls as they cruise through the 2023 MLB playoffs.
If it’s not Bryce Harper, it’s Trea Turner. If it’s not Turner, it’s Nick Castellanos. Castellanos has a blistering five home runs through three post-season games. Wild. The guy is just built differently, OK?
Phillies fans can’t help but celebrate the right fielder whose terrific production was critical to beating the Atlanta Braves in the NLCS and is already helping the Phillies against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Even Castellanos’s son, Liam, has joined the fun, stealing the hearts of MLB fans with his wholesome reactions to his dad blasting homer after homer. On Monday, Liam had a chance to celebrate again, this time with a fired-up Brandon Marsh.
This shot of Nick Castellanos’ son watching his HR last night is great ❤️
Right on cue, Castellanos pushed a ball deep into right field, sending Phillies fans into a frenzy. Marsh, who was next in the batting order, went straight to Liam for an immediate high-hive celebration through the net.
I mean, this is top-tier, wholesome activity — next-level stuff.
Towards the end of the moment, Castellanos can also be seen celebrating and hyping up Liam on his way to the dugout.
Look, I’m not one to typically go with the whole “Team of Destiny” thing. To me, it’s kind of corny.
It takes away from the actual work that these athletes put in. It’s not just “destiny” that got these teams where they are, after all. It’s also the hard work, dedication and time they put in to get this good.
But, man. I don’t know how else to describe the Rangers right now. I’m not here to tell you that Texas is unbeatable. But I am here to tell you that the Rangers haven’t lost a single playoff game yet this postseason.
The team that has had six consecutive losing seasons just can’t seem to be beaten in the playoffs. Texas took out the 99-win Tampa Bay Rays. The Rangers absolutely dismantled the 101-win Baltimore Orioles. Now, Texas has a 2-0 lead against the Houston Astros, who’ve made a 7th straight ALCS after winning Monday night’s game 5-4 on the road.
Again, this is a team that hasn’t made the playoffs since 2016. It’s had consecutive losing records for six straight seasons. Texas was mostly bad, too. The Rangers haven’t won more than 78 games since 2019.
The team’s run differential through seven games is +23 which is tied with the Phillies in the NL for the sixth highest in MLB postseason history, per MLB.com’s Sarah Langs.
It’s not just the dominance that has been cool to watch, though. There’ve also been special player moments — particularly for one José Leclerc, who was essentially out for two seasons battling injury in 2020 and 2021
This whole run is giving me 2014 Kansas City Royals vibes. Another team that really didn’t quite feel like it was supposed to be as dominant as it was, but went undefeated in the playoffs until it ran into the Giants in the World Series.
Of course, Kansas City ended up losing. And the Rangers will hope for a different result should they make it out of the ALCS.
I have no idea when or how this run ends for the Rangers. Regardless, though, we’ll never forget it. This is what playoff baseball is all about.
Is Justin Herbert OK?
Justin Herbert is easily one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and he’s also been one of the best this year. Usually.
But over the last couple of weeks, he’s just been … off? There’s something that just doesn’t seem to be clicking with him. For two weeks straight against the Raiders and, now, the Cowboys on Monday night, Herbert has had a sub-60 percent completion percentage for two straight games.
He’s normally one of the league’s most accurate passers — even on the incredible deep balls he throws. But, lately, he’s been missing layups like this one.
Don’t get it twisted — none of this means we should lose confidence in Herbert at this point. But, man. Something just feels … off. Maybe that fractured finger is hurting Herbert a little more than the Chargers are letting on? Who knows.
Hopefully, the Chargers can figure it out before their season unravels.
Ban NBA referees
That’s the only solution I can come up with to solve the problem of offensive fouls absolutely ruining incredible dunks. And I need it to happen because I’m tired of this.
Cam Whitmore easily had one of the best dunks we’re going to see all season long with this poster on Doug McDermott. Didn’t matter, though. It didn’t count. Because the official wanted to be the worst and call an offensive foul.
