Harlon Barnett had some meaningful words about the season and the future after MSU’s game against Penn State:

Michigan State and Penn State locked up in a matchup for the Land Grant Trophy on Friday night inside of Detroit’s Ford Field. The Spartans, who came into the game at 4-7, had upset on their mind – facing the 9-2 Nittany Lions.

Michigan State basketball almost at scholarship limit

Michigan State received great news this week, learning Tyson Walker and Malik Hall would return for a fifth collegiate season, seriously bolstering MSU’s roster for the 2023-24 season.

With both players returning, the roster management phase of Michigan State’s offseason could be coming to a close. With the two seniors back, the Spartans are near their scholarship limit.

Tom Izzo is allowed to use 13 scholarships in any given year, and the Spartans have 12 scholarship players. As long as no one enters the portal, MSU may be done with adding to their roster.
