2023 Genesis Scottish Open odds, course history and picks to win

Last year at the Renaissance, Fleetwood tied for fourth.

Before the world of golf heads to Royal Liverpool for the 151st Open next week, the PGA Tour and DP World Tour are set to host the 2023 Genesis Scottish Open at the Renaissance Club in North Berwick.

An absolutely loaded field is set to tee off Thursday, including defending champion Xander Schauffele. He’ll be joined by world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, Rickie Fowler and Patrick Cantlay.

Schauffele, who last tied for 19th at the Travelers Championship, beat Kurt Kitayama by one shot last season to earn himself the title. In 2021, Min Woo Lee survived a playoff against Thomas Detry and Matt Fitzpatrick for his second DP World Tour win.

There were countless stars in the field for the 2023 Genesis Scottish Open at the Renaissance Club in North Berwick, including the No.1-ranked golfer in the Official World Golf Ranking, Scottie Scheffler.

He was joined by defending champion Xander Schauffele, Rocket Mortgage Classic winner Rickie Fowler, Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth and Max Homa.

But it was Rory McIlroy, with back-to-back closing Sunday birdies, winning the tournament by a shot over Robert MacIntyre.

The Scottish served as a final tune-up for the season’s last men’s major championship, the 151st Open at Royal Liverpool.

The Renaissance Club is a par-70 golf course that measured 7,237 yards.

Schauffele is joined in the field this year by world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, No. 3 Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, Max Homa, Jordan Spieth, Matt Fitzpatrick and Viktor Hovland.

Rickie Fowler, fresh off his win at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, is also in the field.
