Watch: LSU commit Trey Holly scores on a long touchdown run in the state championship

Good luck catching Holly.

[autotag]Trey Holly[/autotag] played in his third state championship in a row for the Union Parish Farmers, and for the third year in a row, the Farmers came up short.

Union fell to the Many Tigers 35-13 in the Division III non-select championship game. Holly had a great game as he rushed for over 100 yards (including this 63-yard touchdown in the first quarter to tie the game 7-7.)

Holly committed to playing in LSU back in May and is one of the 23 players in the 2023 recruiting class. As early signing day nears, [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] and the Tigers coaches hope that he will stand firm on his commitment and come to the Bayou. Coach Kelly and the Tigers are preparing to play against the Purdue Boilermakers in the Citrus Bowl on January 2nd.

The recruiting class currently ranks as No. 7 overall after LSU lost two four-star defensive linemen last week. We will see how it all plays out.

WATCH: LSU commit forces a fumble with a big hit

DaShawn Womack could be LSU’s next great defensive lineman.

[autotag]DaShawn Womac[/autotag]k is a 6-foot-4, 245-pound edge rusher from Baltimore where he plays for St. Frances Academy.

Last season, the Panthers went 8-1 as they defeated some of the best teams in the country. They beat IMG Academy from Florida and De La Salle from California. In the second game of the season against the Desoto Eagles in Texas, Womack brought the boom to an Eagle ball carrier and knocked the ball free.

That’s the kind of impact he has on the field at high school and he will bring that same kind of mentality to the Bayou next fall. Coach [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] will be glad to have him on the defensive line in 2023.

WATCH: LSU running back commit shows off his athleticism

Trey Holly continues to make plays during his senior season.

Another day, another [autotag]Trey Holly[/autotag] highlight clip.

The four-star running back commit from Farmerville, Louisiana, can do it all. In this play, half of the opposing team attempts to tackle him, but it doesn’t matter. The only thing that is able to stop him is the sideline.

Major props to all of the guys blocking for him on the play, because they did a great job. Holly is a huge reason why the Union Parish Farmers beat the Homer Pelicans in their first regular season game. These are the kind of plays you can expect from Holly when he plays for LSU next season.

The Farmers finished last season 11-4 with a loss in the state championship game. This season, they are hoping to ride on the back of Holly all the way to the state championship and have a different outcome this time around. Holly was named the Most Outstanding Player in that 3A state championship game even though they lost.

Watch: LSU commit Kylin Jackson lowers the boom in scrimmage.

Jackson showed off why he can be a game-changer in the secondary.

[autotag]Kylin Jackson[/autotag] is a four-star, 6-foot-1, 195-pound safety from Zachary, Louisiana, where he plays for Zachary High School.

The Broncos started off their 2022 campaign with a scrimmage game, and after recently committing to LSU, Jackson had only one thing on his mind: going out and knocking opposing players’ heads off.

As you can see in the clips he posted on Twitter, he was destroying players in run support as well as making his mark in coverage as he caught an interception. He may have to watch out for targeting in the first clip, but the other hits look clean to me.

He de-cleated the opposing running back on an option play that never stood a chance of being successful. Plays like these are why many people think that Jackson could be the next legend to wear No. 7 for DBU and be a high draft pick from the Tigers’ secondary.

WATCH: LSU commit Trey Holly shows off his versatility

The four-star Farmersville (La.) running back showed that he can make plays through the air, as well.

[autotag]Trey Holly[/autotag] is a four-star, 5-foot-8, 180-pound running back from Farmerville, Louisiana, where he plays for Union Parish High School.

The Farmers participated in a scrimmage to kick off their 2022 season, and their star running back showed that he could do much more than tote the rock and excel in pass protection. In this clip, Holly shows his versatility as he lines up at wide receiver and climbs the ladder to beat a corner for a jump ball.

Defensive pass interference was called, but it didn’t matter. The defensive back was not going to stop Holly from catching the ball. Holly is ranked as a four-star running back by On3, Rivals and ESPN, while 247Sports has him listed as a three-star.

After making the spectacular grab, Holly makes sure to flash the LSU-themed gloves to let everyone know that he is a Tiger. Plays like this one could land him on the field early in Baton Rouge.

WATCH: LSU commit Jalen Brown scores on a long TD reception

One of LSU’s top commits is already making plays during his senior season.

Jalen Brown is a four-star, 6-foot-1, 170-pound wide receiver from Miami, Florida, where he plays for Gulliver Prep. He committed to LSU on July 8.

Gulliver Prep played in a jamboree game on Friday night against Belen Jesuit in which the Raiders took home a 34-14 victory led by Brown, who is rated as a four-star wide receiver by On3, 247Sports, ESPN, and Rivals.

Watch as he shows off his speed and smooth route running as he scores on an almost 80-yard touchdown reception. In the second clip, he beats the defensive back off the line of scrimmage and then shows excellent awareness as he is able to keep both of his feet in bounds and secure the catch that sets up another Gulliver touchdown.

The Raiders start their regular season next Friday night on the road against Rockledge. Gulliver will meet against Belen again in October.

BREAKING: 5-star receiver Jalen Brown commits to LSU

LSU landed its biggest commit of the cycle on Friday.

LSU received its biggest commit of the cycle on Friday.

Five-star receiver Jalen Brown announced he would be committing to LSU, making him the first consensus five-star to join the Tigers’ 2023 recruiting class. Brown chose LSU over Florida State, Michigan, Texas A&M and Miami.

Leading up to his commitment, Brown received a flood of 247Sports Crystal Balls pegging him to LSU and was tabbed as the favorite by On3’s prediction machine as well.

According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, Brown is the 29th best player in the class and the fourth-best wide receiver. He’s a top-10 player in the state of Florida.

The 247Sports scouting report described Brown as an elite deep threat with top-level speed. Along with football, Brown is a track star.

There’s a chance for LSU’s 2023 wide receiver class to really stand out if fellow five-star and Baton Rouge prospect [autotag]Shelton Sampson Jr.[/autotag] ā€” for whom the Tigers are the favorite ā€” joins the group.

BREAKING: 2023 defensive back Jeremiah Hughes commits to LSU

LSU stayed hot on the recruiting trail with the addition of a three-star corner on Thursday night.

LSU’s hot streak on the recruiting trail continued on Thursday.

[autotag]Jeremiah Hughes[/autotag], a three-star cornerback from Las Vegas announced his commitment to LSU. He chose the Tigers over Arkansas, Utah and TCU.

Hughes is LSU’s third cornerback commit in the 2023 class. He joins four-star [autotag]Daylen Austin[/autotag] and three-star [autotag]Ashton Stamps[/autotag].

He continues LSU’s success on the national trail. Bishop Gorman is a Catholic school that [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] likely had a relationship with from his time at Notre Dame.

The consensus rankings have Hughes as a three-star, but ESPN has him as a four-star. His’ recruitment didn’t take off until recently, and we could see him continue to rise in the rankings in the coming month as he continues to focus more on defense.

This also bodes well for LSU cornerbacks coach [autotag]Robert Steeples[/autotag]’ recruiting ability. Steeples is new to the college ranks and could still be getting his feet under him on the recruiting trail.
