Can the Boston Celtics cool off the Miami Heat’s fiery postseason run?

What can we expect of the Celtics in the 2023 Eastern Conference Finals vs the Heat that we did not see in the East semis vs. the 76ers?

What can we expect of the Boston Celtics in the looming 2023 Eastern Conference Finals vs. the Miami Heat that we did not see in the East semis series just before it vs. the Philadelphia 76ers?

Star forward Jayson Tatum is, of course, unlikely to replicate his 51-point explosion or anything like that performance consistently against the Heat’s strong defense, but even with a big leap forward in the postseason on that end of the court for the Heat, will Miami be able to find a way to put points on the board at a rate that can keep up with the Celtics?\

The hosts of the CLNS Media “A-List” podcast recently dug into what changes in play and different defensive looks might be headed Boston’s way in this series.

Be sure to take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what they expect from the Heat.

Are the Boston Celtics ready to take on the Miami Heat?

How have the two teams changed? Did Game 7 mark a change in the Celtics where they find a new gear? How will the series unfold?

After a thrilling Game 7 finish against the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2023 East semis, the Boston Celtics have punched their ticket to the Eastern Conference Finals for a rematch against the Miami Heat. While it’s their second straight ECF against one another and their third meeting in four years, both teams have changed a fair amount since their last playoff series.

Miami lost PJ Tucker in free agency, as well as Tyler Herro and Victor Oladipo to injuries; Boston has Robert Williams III back at full strength while shoring up their center depth, as well as the trade acquisition of 2023 Sixth Man of the Year Malcolm Brogdon.

How have the two teams changed? Did Game 7 mark a change in the Celtics where they find a new gear? How will the series unfold?

Miami Heat at Boston Celtics: How to watch, broadcast, lineups (Game 1)

After defeating the Philadelphia 76ers in seven games to win their East semis series with Philly, will the Heat prove to be a tougher opponent?

The Boston Celtics find themselves in a rematch and then some as they gear up to play the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference finals for the third time in four years. After defeating the Philadelphia 76ers in seven games to win their East semis series with Philly, will the Heat prove themselves to be a more formidable opponent?

If you happen to be looking for a way to watch the on-court action live on cable television or a local or national online streaming service, keep reading while we get you up to speed on everything else you need to know about the game, including injuries, likely starters, and of course how to watch it.

Let’s begin with the players available to play.

Celtics reportedly plan to play double big lineup vs. Miami Heat in Game 1

Williams will reportedly start for the Celtics vs. the Heat in Game 1.

Ahead of the Boston Celtics’ rematch with the Miami Heat in the 2023 Eastern Conference finals, there had been speculation whether the Celtics would continue to use their double big lineup that starts both center Robert Williams III and forward Al Horford in place of a smaller starting lineup that would bring guard Derrick White back into the starting lineup.

That question has been answered for the time being. CLNS Media’s Bobby Manning reported Williams will start for the Celtics vs. the Heat in Game 1. Given Boston outscored the Philadelphia 76ers by 28 points per 100 possessions in Games 6 and 7 with Williams and Al Horford on the floor, that seems like it might be worth trying to start the next round.

Manning asks the key question of whether Williams will last in the lineup, especially with a different matchup looming at the four spot between Kevin Love and Caleb Martin.

Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear his reasoning.

Who will win the Boston Celtics-Miami Heat East finals, and in how many games?

Will Boston use the same starting lineup that won them Game 7 against the 76ers with Al Horford and Robert Williams III on the floor?

In one of the most complete and efficient games of his career, star Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum had an historic 51 points in Boston’s Game 7 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2023 Eastern Conference semifinals.

Now, the Celtics take on the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference finals for the second straight year and the third time in four seasons. They also played the Heat in the East finals in the 2020 Orlando bubble.

Will Boston use the same double big starting lineup that won it Game 7 against the 76ers with Al Horford and Robert Williams III on the floor? Will they roll out a small ball lineup that brings guard Derrick White back into the starting lineup? Who will win the series, and in how many games?

Reacting to Jayson Tatum’s historic Game 7 over the Philadelphia 76ers

Where does this victory rank among all-time performances by the St. Louis native and his fellow Boston alumni?

Superstar Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum scored the most points ever in a Game 7 in the history of the NBA in an extremely cathartic win over the Celtics in a win-or-go-home game, eliminating the Philadelphia 76ers, and putting the validity of “The Process” into question once again.

Where does this victory rank among all-time performances by the St. Louis native and his fellow Boston alumni? Who was the Most Valuable Player of the series? Plus, what do we think of Tatum’s relationship with Celtics fans after hearing his postgame comments about playing in the city of Boston?

Celtics Lab 192: Previewing Boston vs. Miami in the East Finals with Kyle Russell

The third such meeting in four seasons, these teams know each other very well — or do they?

After a dramatic Game 7 win over the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2023 Eastern Conference semifinals driven by a historic 51 points from star Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum, the Celtics are set to face the Miami Heat in what will not only be a rematch of the 2022 East Finals, but a rematch of both conference finals that we saw unfold in the 2020 Orlando bubble.

What will the now-staple Eastern Conference postseason matchup look like this time around? Has Boston finally exorcised the demons that have haunted them since the last time these two teams collided in the postseason? Or are they still vulnerable to Miami’s zones, Jimmy Butler’s maniacal play, and Eric Spoelstra’s masterful coaching?

The hosts of the CLNS Media “Celtics Lab” podcast got together with host Kyle Russell of the “Heaters Gonna Heat” podcast to help us get our bearings on this iteration of Boston’s Floridian menace.

We get up to speed on how healthy the Heat are, how Kevin Love and Cody Zeller have given Miami a competent frontcourt rotation, and why this team should not be judged by how they played in the 2022-23 regular season.

Celtics Lab 191: Boston flattens Philly in Game 7 to advance to face the Heat in the East finals

What did Boston do differently? Why did we see so much pick-and-roll for a Celtics squad in 2022-23, and how did Boston work to take away what the Sixers lean on the most offensively?

The Boston Celtics needed to come with their “A” Game to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals in Game 7 of their East semis series with the Philadelphia 76ers, and somehow the Celtics found a way to dig even deeper with a historic, 51-point outing from star forward Jayson Tatum.

What did Boston do differently? Why did we see so much pick-and-roll for a Celtics squad in 2022-23, and how did Boston work to take away what the Sixers lean on the most offensively? And most important of all, how are we feeling about the looming rematch with the Heat in a do-over of the 2020 bubble’s final four teams as the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers advance to face each other in the Western Conference finals?

The hosts of the CLNS Media “Celtics Lab” podcast had plenty to say after a 112-88 Boston blowout Game 7 win, as well as the rest of the postseason landscape now that the Celtics are no longer in danger of getting sent fishing.

The gang also touches on the disturbing behavior from Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant, 2023 Celtics draft prep, and more so be sure to tune in.
