2023 Autotrader Echopark Automotive 400: What you need to know

  • 23XI Racing’s Bubba Wallace is on the pole for Sunday’s race after posting a best speed of 188.337 mph in qualifying Saturday
  • Wallace has 8 Cup starts at Texas, and he has struggled mightily, posting a 23.6 Average-Finish Position (AFP) with 2 DNFs and just a single top-10 finish
  • RFK Racing’s Chris Buescher starts on the outside of Row 1. He has also had difficult at TMS, posting a 23.3 AFP in 13 career Cup starts, and his best finish is 15th place
  • Wallace’s teammate, Tyler Reddick, leads all drivers with a 6.8 AFP (minimum 4 Cup starts) with a win, 2 top-5 finishes and 4 top-10 runs, and he has never finished worse than 15th. Ironically, he goes off 15th Sunday
  • Stewart-Haas Racing’s Chase Briscoe, who starts 31st, has posted finishes of 5th and 15th in his 2 previous Cup starts, good for a 10.0 AFP after an average starting position of 28.0
  • SHR’s Kevin Harvick has managed 3 career checkered flags in Fort Worth in his 38 Cup starts, and he has 691 laps led with 14 top-5 finishes and 24 top-10 runs
  • Richard Childress Racing’s Kyle Busch has won 4 times in Texas, registering 14 top-5 finishes in his 32 career Cup starts (43.8% of his starts)
  • Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin has registered 3 career Cup victories at Texas with 15 of his 32 starts resulting in top-10 finishes
  • Hendrick’s Alex Bowman has had tremendous difficulties at Texas in his Cup career, posting a 24.8 AFP in 13 starts, posting just 2 top-5 finishes with 4 DNFs
  • TrackHouse Racing’s Ross Chastain has also not fared terribly well at Texas, posting a 25.2 AFP in 6 career starts, and his best-ever finish is 13th at the track

2023 Autotrader Echopark Automotive 400 – Expert pick

Odds provided by BetMGM Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Saturday at 11:02 p.m. ET.

TYLER REDDICK (+1000) is a value pick at this price based on his career Cup numbers at the track. He starts from the 15th position, but Texas has plenty of opportunities for passing and scooting up in rather short order. He is also in the 8th and final spot in the playoff standings, 22 points back of leaders William Byron and Martin Truex Jr., so he’ll be pressing hard at one of his best tracks. It should be a good recipe for a strong finish.

2023 Autotrader Echopark Automotive 400 – Long shot

KEVIN HARVICK (+3500) has had tremendous success in his career at Texas, and this will be his final start in Fort Worth, at least as a full-time driver. We keep waiting for a storybook finish, with Harvick winning at his favorite tracks in his last go-around, but he has been 8th or lower in 8 straight starts, including a dismal 29th-place finish in his final Bristol start last weekend.

Playing a KEVIN HARVICK TOP-10 FINISH (+105) is also worth a look at plus money.
