Are the Philadelphia 76ers or Boston Celtics more likely to win the Atlantic Division

Which of the two old rivals is more likely to win the division?

It was not all that long ago (about a year, in fact) that the Philadelphia 76ers looked like a club poised to make the leap to a true contending status. The addition of former MVP James Harden to the team was supposed to supply the missing piece. Now, that same player is threatening to send their subsequent season into a tailspin before it even starts.

The Boston Celtics, on the other hand, seem ready to rise to the top of the NBA’s Atlantic Division after bringing on star big man Kristaps Porzingis. But the Latvian big man’s injury history could have a similar effect as Harden’s unhappiness on the Sixers.

With all of that said, which of the two old rivals is more likely to win the Atlantic Division?

Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what the hosts of the “Locked On NBA” podcast had to say about this race to the top in the East.

Are the Boston Celtics or Denver Nuggets 2024 NBA title favorites?

While Denver would have entered the 2024 NBA Finals as favorites vs. the Boston Celtics, the Celtics enter next season as a popular pick to win the championship.

The Denver Nuggets dominated the Minnesota Timberwolves, Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat on the way to an NBA title behind Nikola Jokic‘s run at MVP in 2022-23. While Denver would have entered the 2024 NBA Finals as favorites against the Boston Celtics, too, the Celtics enter next season as a popular pick to win the championship.

Nuggets writer Matt Brooks recently joined CLNS Media reporter Bobby Manning on the “Garden Report” podcast to talk about covering Denver’s run last season and next, whether the Nuggets will repeat in 2024, and how the Celtics can beat them if they can get back to the finals, plus his view as a former Nets writer about the Brooklyn Nets’ big three falling apart last year.

Where is Boston’s Jayson Tatum ranked among the NBA’s best in 2023-24?

With the NBA’s dog days of August now firmly behind us, we are on the cusp of the league’s other big offseason tradition: the especially threadbare part of the league calendar we media fill the gap of by ranking players, rosters, front offices, offseasons, histories, and pretty much anything else we can come up with in what has become #RankingSeason.

With the NBA’s dog days of August firmly behind us, we are on the cusp of the league’s other big offseason tradition: #RankingSeason.

It is the especially threadbare part of the league calendar we media types fill by ranking players, rosters, front offices, offseasons, histories and pretty much anything else we can come up with.

With this line of thinking at the fore, the folks behind the D Flow Hoops YouTube channel put together their assessment of the top 10 players in the NBA for the 2023-24 season. One Boston Celtics star, in particular, making the cut.

Yes, we are talking about All-NBA forward Jayson Tatum — but you knew that already.

Check out the clip embedded above to hear where among his peers this assessment has placed him.

What can we suss out about the East’s order for 2023-24 based on each team’s offseason?

Are the New York Knicks, Orlando Magic, Atlanta Hawks, and Cleveland Cavaliers still on the rise in the ranks of the East?

What can we suss out about the NBA’s Eastern Conference order for the league’s 2023-24 season based on each team’s moves during the 2023 offseason? The Boston Celtics are widely expected to be among the conference’s strongest title contenders in the coming season, but what about perennial contenders like the Milwaukee Bucks, Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers? Will they be back in the saddle next season?

Are the New York Knicks, Orlando Magic, Atlanta Hawks and Cleveland Cavaliers still on the rise in the ranks of the East? And what, exactly, is going on with the Brooklyn Nets, Toronto Raptors, Charlotte Hornets, Chicago Bulls, Indiana Pacers and Washington Wizards after a fairly turbulent 2022-23 season?

To talk it over, the hosts of the CLNS Media “Celtics Lab” podcast got together with Celtics Blog and Heavy’s Adam Taylor.

Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what conclusions they came to about how the league’s Eastern Conference will stack up next season.

What do fans of the Brooklyn Nets think of the Boston Celtics and their fans?

We expect a bit of rancor out of that fanbase towards the Celtics and their supporters, but is that really the case?

What do fans of the Brooklyn Nets think of the Boston Celtics and their fans?

Every time they see the Celtics on a basketball court, they have two very well-paid (and deservedly so despite the naysayers) All-NBA forwards who remind them of why they ought to resent Boston. So we might expect a bit of rancor from that fan base toward the Celtics and their supporters. But is that really the case?

Beyond the superficial stuff, how does that fan base look at Boston’s team for next season and what it did to build as opposed to the Nets’ offseason approach to the roster? What expectations do Nets fans have for Boston and Brooklyn for their respective 2023-24 campaigns?

The hosts of the CLNS Media “First to the Floor” podcast linked up with Nets Daily’s Bill Reinhardt to talk over all the aforementioned and more on a recent pod.

To hear what they had to say about the state of Celtics – Nets relations, check out the clip embedded above.

Who are the NBA’s top 25 players (and where are Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum among them)?

Both Tatum and Brown make the cut — but where are they ranked?

With the dog days of August behind us but a fair amount of time left in the NBA’s 2023 offseason ahead, it is safe to say the annual dead period the league’s media fills with rankings and assessments has arrived.

And with ranking season in full swing, we take a look at where others see the Boston Celtics or whichever other club you follow and react accordingly. One recent assessment for the season ahead came from the folks behind the “NBA Hoops with TJ” podcast. They ranked the top 25 players and have a pair of fairly predictable Celtics make the cut.

To see which ones they are (we know you already know) and where both are ranked in relation to their peers, take a look at the clip embedded below.

Six Boston Celtics make Bleacher Report’s top 100 NBA players

That one of the players has cracked the top 10 is notable, even if the player who did it — All-NBA forward Jayson Tatum — is no mystery. But what about the rest?

Not one to be left out of the annual offseason stretch that has become the NBA’s yearly ranking season, Bleacher Report released its top 100 NBA players list for the 2023-24 season. It features an impressive six Boston Celtics players.

The players who made the cut are, by and large, no major surprise given the general consensus the Celtics are one of the best teams in the Association. That one of the players has cracked the top 10 is notable, even if the player who did it — All-NBA forward Jayson Tatum — is no mystery to even casual fans. But what about the rest?

The hosts of the CLNS Media “How Bout Them Celtics!” podcast talked over Boston’s outstanding showing in B/R’s annual contribution to #RankingSeason.

Check out the clip embedded above to hear where Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Kristaps Porzingis, Robert Williams III, Malcolm Brogdon and Al Horford came in, and what they think of that assessment.

What will the order of the NBA’s Eastern Conference be in 2023-24?

More importantly, where could the Boston Celtics fall within it?

What will the order of the NBA’s Eastern Conference look like for the looming 2023-24 regular season? At the start of the 2022-23 season, the Milwaukee Bucks, Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers were seen as likely to contend for an NBA title, yet it was the Miami Heat who leapfrogged or beat all of those clubs to make it to the 2023 NBA Finals.

Below that level, the Cleveland Cavaliers, New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets, and Atlanta Hawks were all seen as teams that could make some noise in the postseason — will any of those clubs take a step forward this season? Or for that matter, backward? And which teams will be positioning themselves for draft lottery odds?

The folks behind the CLNS Media “First to the Floor” podcast put their heads together to try and divine the East’s order for 2023-24 on a recent podcast.

Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear where they think each team will end up by season’s end.

What are our early expectation of the Boston Celtics for 2023-24?

What is their ceiling, and more importantly, what is their floor?

What should we expect from the 2023-24 iteration of the Boston Celtics ahead of the start of the season? After letting go of veteran point guard Marcus Smart, reserve forward Grant Williams, and deep rotation big man Mike Muscala among others while bringing on star big man Kristaps Porzingis, reserve swingman Oshae Brissett, backup point guard Dalano Banton, reserve forward Svi Mykhailiuk, and rookie wing Jordan Walsh, this version of the team will be a different one.

But will they be better or will they take a step back while the new cast of players learn their roles and how best to play together? What is their ceiling, and more importantly, what is their floor?

The hosts of the eponymous CLNS Media “Bob Ryan, Jeff Goodman, and Gary Tanguay” podcast got together to talk it over on a recent podcast.

Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what this trio of esteemed Boston sports analysts had to say about what we ought to expect from these Celtics this season.
