It was not all that long ago (about a year, in fact) that the Philadelphia 76ers looked like a club poised to make the leap to a true contending status. The addition of former MVP James Harden to the team was supposed to supply the missing piece. Now, that same player is threatening to send their subsequent season into a tailspin before it even starts.
The Boston Celtics, on the other hand, seem ready to rise to the top of the NBA’s Atlantic Division after bringing on star big man Kristaps Porzingis. But the Latvian big man’s injury history could have a similar effect as Harden’s unhappiness on the Sixers.
