2022 PFL salaries from Atlanta: Anthony Pettis tops disclosed payouts despite loss; Kayla Harrison second

This marks the first time that PFL salaries have been revealed in 2022.

The back half of the 2022 PFL regular season recently took place in Atlanta with three cards in three weeks at Overtime Elite Arena.

Each card spotlighted two specific divisions. PFL 4 took place June 17 and featured men’s lightweights and light heavyweights. One week later, PFL 5 featured featherweights and heavyweights. Last Friday, PFL 6 consisted of welterweights and women’s lightweights.

On Wednesday, MMA Junkie acquired a list of disclosed show and win purses from the Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission, the regulatory body that oversaw the events.

Former UFC lightweight champion [autotag]Anthony Pettis[/autotag] ($750,000) led all paydays despite a submission loss to [autotag]Stevie Ray[/autotag]. Two-time PFL season winner [autotag]Kayla Harrison[/autotag] ($500,00) was second on the list, followed by former UFC title challenger and Bellator welterweight champion [autotag]Rory MacDonald[/autotag] ($250,000).

[autotag]Jeremy Stephens[/autotag], [autotag]Lance Palmer[/autotag], [autotag]Brendan Loughnane[/autotag], [autotag]Omari Akhmedov[/autotag], and [autotag]Magomed Magomedkerimov[/autotag] also received six-figure disclosed payouts.

It’s important to note that the figures given do not reflect potential “locker room” bonuses, streaming points, or promotional sponsorship payments.

2022 PFL 6 results: Kayla Harrison quickly finishes Kaitlin Young, clinches playoff spot

Kayla Harrison made quick work of Kaitlin Young on Friday and is now heading to London for the playoffs.

[autotag]Kayla Harrison[/autotag] is once again heading to the playoffs.

The two-time PFL champion is one step closer to a third after taking care of business in the main event of 2022 PFL 6 at the Overtime Elite Arena in Atlanta. Short-notice replacement Kaitlin Young stood in Harrison’s way on Friday evening, but was unable to put up much resistance.

It was a dominant performance from Harrison (15-0) in the final regular-season bout on the PFL schedule, who made quick work of Young (12-13-1).

Just over a minute into the first round, Harrison implemented her dominant grappling game and dumped Young to the canvas with a powerful takedown. The Olympian began working from side control, looking for submission attempts. A few seconds later, Harrison transitioned to the back and began raining down punches to the head of Young. The referee warned Young to fight back but her positioning did not improve and the stoppage soon followed.

“The goal is to go out and dominate, sometimes you just feel it,” Harrison said during her post-fight interview.

Harrison won her first fight of the season, picking up three points in a unanimous decision win over Marina Mokhnatkina at 2022 PFL 3 in Arlington, Texas. Harrison was originally scheduled to face former Bellator champion Julia Budd on Friday, but was replaced by Young after withdrawing from the fight.

Gaining six points for her first-round finish on Friday, Harrison enters the playoffs in the second seed behind Larissa Pacheco, who also earned six points at the event.

The women’s lightweight playoffs, which take place in London in August, are now set with the first round pitting Pacheco vs Olena Kolesnyk, and Harrison vs. Martina Jindrova.

2022 PFL 6 results: Sadibou Sy defeats Rory MacDonald, but both men advance to playoffs

Rory MacDonald may have lost, but he is still the No. 1 seed in the 2022 PFL playoffs.

[autotag]Sadibou Sy[/autotag] is headed to the 2022 PFL playoffs.

It was a grueling and gritty 15 minutes, and perhaps not the most crowd-pleasing performance – but after three rounds, Sy (11-6-2) defeated former UFC title challenger [autotag]Rory MacDonald[/autotag] (23-9-1) via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28).

2022 PFL 6 took place Friday at Overtime Elite Arena in Atlanta.

All Sy needed to earn a playoff spot when he entered the fight was three points, a win regardless of method. The fight was closely contested with much work done in the clinch and from technical striking distance.

A punch from Sy during first-round takedown defense opened up a nasty gash under the right eye of MacDonald. As the fight progressed, both men tired. Sy, who is known for his striking, even scored a takedown of MacDonald midway through Round 3.

Sy was shortly thereafter declared the victor, and thus Magomed Magomedkerimov was ousted from the playoff roster. MacDonald remains the No. 1 seed. He’ll take on Magomed Umalatov. Meanwhile, Sy will fight Carlos Leal.

2022 PFL 6 results: Ray Cooper III gets eliminated from playoff contention, destroys Brett Cooper in 24 seconds anyway

Ray Cooper could’ve fought safe after he was eliminated, but instead decided to go guns blazing at the sound of the opening bell.

[autotag]Ray Cooper III[/autotag] didn’t do enough to earn a slot in the 2022 PFL playoffs, but he sure went out with a bang in his final regular season appearance.

At 2022 PFL 6, which took place Friday at Overtime Elite Arena in Atlanta, Cooper III (25-8-1) tore through opponent [autotag]Brett Cooper[/autotag] (28-17) in just 24 seconds.

On the bubble of the playoffs at the start of the event, Cooper would’ve needed six points to clinch a playoff spot. However, just minutes before his scheduled cage-walk, Cooper had his postseason hopes spoiled when Magomed Magomedkerimov picked up six points in a first-round TKO of Dilano Taylor.

Cooper III was shown throughout the Magomedkerimov vs. Taylor bout. His expression was the same before and after his playoff dreams disappeared. He looked unfazed – and when it came time to fight, he fought unbothered.

From the opening bell, Cooper III blitzed the other Cooper. Punches and knees rained down as Brett Cooper covered up. Brett Cooper eventually turtled and hit the mat. Shortly thereafter the referee dove in to save him.

Check out the finish below:

“I was going to finish him no matter what. That was my goal,” Cooper told PFL commentator Sean O’Connell in his in-cage, post-fight interview.

Cooper III has only lost once in his most recent nine fights. It is unknown what his future holds, or if he is contractually tied to PFL going forward.

Meanwhile, Brett Cooper falls to 2-4 in his most recent six outings.

2022 PFL 6 video: Larissa Pacheco rolls over Genah Fabian, clinches No. 1 seed in playoffs

Outside of Kayla Harrison, no one in PFL has defeated Larissa Pacheco – that includes Genah Fabian who lost Friday via TKO in Round 1.

[autotag]Larissa Pacheco[/autotag] continues to dominate anyone not named Kayla Harrison.

At 2022 PFL 6, Pacheco (17-4) picked up her fourth-straight win when she trucked [autotag]Genah Fabian[/autotag] (5-3) en route to a TKO stoppage due to ground-and-pound at 2:39 of Round 1. With the victory, she earned six points in the standings and clinched the top seed in the playoff bracket.

2022 PFL 6 took place at Overtime Elite Arena in Atlanta.

As a visibly unamused and unimpressed Harrison looked on, Pacheco stunned Fabian on the feet before the fight hit the canvas. Once on the ground, Pacheco moved into mount where she quickly finished the fight with a series of punches.

Check out the finish below.

Pacheco, 27, moves to 6-2 under the PFL banner. Her two promotional losses came in her first and third PFL fights and were both to Harrison. During the 2021 season, Pacheco went 2-0 but missed weight in the playoffs and was removed from the tournament.

2022 PFL 6 video: ‘Prince’ Magomed Umalatov stiffens Jarrah Al-Silawi with wicked combination

Magomed Umalatov scored a brutal and scary knockout at 2022 PFL 6, as Jarrah Al-Silawi was down for quite some time.

[autotag]Magomed Umalatov[/autotag] made a statement in his 2022 PFL season debut Friday when he flattened Jarrah Al-Silawi and added another knockout to the reel.

At 2022 PFL 6, Umalatov (12-0) finished Al-Silawi (18-4) with a violent combination of punches at 3:33 of Round 1. The win earned him six points in the welterweight standings. The event took place at Overtime Elite Arena in Atlanta.

The finishing sequence started out with a beautifully sneaky backfist from Umalatov, which put Al-Silawi on roller skates. As Al-Silawi backpedaled, he was unable to avoid a swarm from Umalatov. A violent overhand right folded Al-Silawi, as his stiffened body crashed to the canvas. Al-Silawi was down for quite some time, but was able to stand for the official decision under his own power.

Check out the finish below.

Umalatov remains unbeaten as a professional and advances to 3-0 under the PFL banner. During the 2021 season, Umalatov went 2-0 but did not earn enough points to qualify for the playoffs.

As for Al-Silawi, he has a five-fight winning streak snapped. 2022 PFL 6 was his second PFL appearance. At 2022 PFL 3 in May, Al-Silawi defeated UFC alumnus Gleison Tibau by split decision.
