Former Texas Tech WRs Jerand Bradley, Myles Price announce transfer destinations

The Texas Tech duo announced their new destinations on Monday.

On Monday former Red Raider wide receivers Jerand Bradley and Myles Price both announced where they would play next. The duo will be heading in different directions as Bradley heads to the ACC and Price is Big Ten bound.

Price has spent the last four seasons with Texas Tech, this past year was his most productive from a touchdown standpoint. He hauled in 161 receptions for 1,751 yards and 10 touchdowns. In his first two seasons, he was also used as a runner with 26 attempts for 207 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Price will now join an Indiana Hoosiers squad that recently hired former James Madison head coach Curt Cignetti to run the program. Price should have ample opportunity to show what he can bring to an offense that is in desperate need of playmakers. Indiana finished 3-9 this past year which caused them to move in a new direction with the firing of Tom Allen following the season.

Bradley announced that he would be on his way to join the Boston College Eagles in 2024. Bradley joined the Red Raiders as part of the 2021 recruiting class. He showed flashes as a freshman in 2021 and was a bigger part of the offense in his redshirt freshman season of 2022. That role seemed to lessen this past season.

Bradley hauled in 92 passes for 1,274 yards, and 10 touchdowns during his three-year stint with Texas Tech. Most of his production came in 2022, the first year under head coach Joey McGuire. Bradley will give BC a legitimate threat on the perimeter. The Eagles finished the regular season with a 6-6 record under head coach Jeff Hafley.

The Red Raiders did add some talent of their own this transfer portal cycle with former Florida Gators wide receiver Caleb Douglas and former Washington State Cougars wide receiver Josh Kelly. Not to mention they will add five-star signee Micah Hudson, who is ranked as the No. 1 player in the state of Texas according to 247Sports composite rankings.

Oklahoma (6-5, 3-5 Big 12) will face Texas Tech (6-5, 4-4) on Saturday night in Lubbock, and if you’re wondering how you can watch the action live, you’ve come to the right place.

Heading into last weekend, both the Oklahoma Sooners and Texas Tech were still in search of the win to get them to bowl eligibility. For both teams, it’s been a roller coaster of a season with their first-year head coaches, though Oklahoma’s struggles have been more the surprise.

Joey McGuire has Texas Tech bowl eligible for the second-straight season. It’s the first time since 2012-2013 that the Red Raiders have gone to a bowl game in back-to-back seasons.

The big storyline facing the Red Raiders is the loss of Tyree Wilson for the season. Their star edge rusher was in the midst of a fantastic year with 61 total tackles, 14 tackles for loss, and seven sacks. Texas Tech’s defense has had some issues in 2022, losing their best player creates a hole along the defensive front, particularly in the pass rush.

The Sooners are dealing with their own injury issues, as Andrew Raym will miss the remainder of the year after having surgery. Robert Congel has filled in admirably in his absence, but the interior offensive line will be something to watch.

Kayla Harrison starts quest for third PFL title in London – but not as the No. 1 seed

Two-time women’s lightweight season winner and No. 2 seed [autotag]Kayla Harrison[/autotag] (14-0) will headline the card against No. 3 [autotag]Martina Jindrova[/autotag] (6-2) in one of two semifinal fights in the division.

The other half of the bracket features No. 1 [autotag]Larisa Pacheco[/autotag] (17-4) vs. No. 4 [autotag]Olena Kolesnyk[/autotag] (7-4). Pacheco, who lost to Harrison in the 2019 final, finished both her regular season fights in the first round for 12 points to earn the top seed. Harrison and Jindrova finished the regular season with 9 points, while Kolesnyk had 6 for the fourth playoff spot.

The event also features the two semifinal playoff bouts at featherweight. No. 1 seed [autotag]Chris Wade[/autotag] (22-7) takes on No. 4 [autotag]Brendan Loughnane[/autotag] (22-7) and No. 2 [autotag]Ryoji Kudo[/autotag] (11-3-1) meets No. 3 [autotag]Bubba Jenkins[/autotag] (18-5).

The PFL’s third set of playoff fights take place Aug. 20 at Copper Box Arena in London. The four-fight main card of playoff matchups airs on ESPN. A four-fight set of prelims and four fights after the main card stream on ESPN+.

The playoffs open two weeks prior in New York with lightweights and light heavyweights. Then welterweights and heavyweights meet Aug. 13 in Cardiff, Wales.

“Heading to London is huge for the expansion of the league,” PFL president Ray Sefo stated. “We are bringing our brand of MMA to the U.K. and I’m sure they are going to be as excited as I am to see elite fighters like Kayla Harrison, Chris Wade and Brendan Loughnane compete with so much on the line.”

Harrison won the second of her two judo Olympic gold medals at the 2012 Games in London. Now she returns to the city a decade later.

In addition, the PFL announced the signing of muay Thai standout Dakota Ditcheva (5-0), a prized free agent from Manchester, England. The three-time muay Thai world champion is unbeaten early in her MMA career and is considered one of the sport’s top female prospects. Her mother, Lisa Howarth, was a world kickboxing champion.

“We are excited to add Dakota to the global PFL talent roster,” Sefo stated. “Dakota’s outstanding skill set and ability, along with her natural charisma, fit perfectly with the PFL brand of MMA. We believe the PFL is uniquely placed to take her journey forward on a global scale. Coming from a line of elite muay Thai practitioners, we have confidence in Dakota to go to the very top with the PFL and continue her family’s legacy.”

2022 PFL salaries from Atlanta: Anthony Pettis tops disclosed payouts despite loss; Kayla Harrison second

This marks the first time that PFL salaries have been revealed in 2022.

The back half of the 2022 PFL regular season recently took place in Atlanta with three cards in three weeks at Overtime Elite Arena.

Each card spotlighted two specific divisions. PFL 4 took place June 17 and featured men’s lightweights and light heavyweights. One week later, PFL 5 featured featherweights and heavyweights. Last Friday, PFL 6 consisted of welterweights and women’s lightweights.

On Wednesday, MMA Junkie acquired a list of disclosed show and win purses from the Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission, the regulatory body that oversaw the events.

Former UFC lightweight champion [autotag]Anthony Pettis[/autotag] ($750,000) led all paydays despite a submission loss to [autotag]Stevie Ray[/autotag]. Two-time PFL season winner [autotag]Kayla Harrison[/autotag] ($500,00) was second on the list, followed by former UFC title challenger and Bellator welterweight champion [autotag]Rory MacDonald[/autotag] ($250,000).

[autotag]Jeremy Stephens[/autotag], [autotag]Lance Palmer[/autotag], [autotag]Brendan Loughnane[/autotag], [autotag]Omari Akhmedov[/autotag], and [autotag]Magomed Magomedkerimov[/autotag] also received six-figure disclosed payouts.

It’s important to note that the figures given do not reflect potential “locker room” bonuses, streaming points, or promotional sponsorship payments.

PFL 2022, Week 4 takes place Friday at Overtime Elite Arena in Atlanta. The main card airs on ESPN following prelims on ESPN+.

2022 PFL 3 results: Anthony Pettis squeezes Myles Price into submission

Anthony Pettis picked up his first promotional win when he defeated Ireland’s Myles Price in Round 1.

[autotag]Anthony Pettis[/autotag] has his first PFL win in the bag.

While it took him three tries, Pettis (25-12) kicked off his 2022 season with a victory Friday at Esports Stadium in Arlington, Texas, when he submitted Ireland’s [autotag]Myles Price[/autotag] (11-8) at 4:17 of Round 1.

In the opening seconds, Pettis connected on a rocking punch that sent Price to the canvas. Price survived, but Pettis was on top. From there, Pettis worked and worked while he maintained strong top control. Eventually, Price tried to sneak out from under Pettis – but Pettis used it to his advantage.

Pettis shifted to the bottom, but rolled Price right into a triangle choke submission. From there, he adjusted and readjusted. Pettis rolled Price and ended up on tap. There, Pettis secured a tight squeeze, a tap, and a win.

With the win, Pettis wins for the first time since his final UFC fight, which took place in December 2020 against Alex Morono. During the 2021 PFL season, Pettis didn’t qualify for the playoffs because he earned zero points and two losses to Clay Collard and eventual-champion Raush Manfio.

As for Price, he falls to 3-2 in his most recent five. 2022 PFL 3 marked the first in-cage competition for Price since February 2019. Prior to his PFL debut Friday, Price competed for Bellator, Brave CF, and Cage Warriors among other notable promotions.

ARLINGTON, Texas – Fighters competing at 2022 PFL 3 went face-to-face at ceremonial weigh-ins ahead of their bouts on Friday.

The 2021 PFL champion [autotag]Kayla Harrison[/autotag] (12-0) squared off with [autotag]Marina Mokhnatkina[/autotag] (6-2) Thursday. The two competitors are set to meet in the main event of Friday’s event, capping off the first event of the season including the women’s lightweight division.

In the co-main event, 2021 welterweight champion [autotag]Ray Cooper III[/autotag] (24-7-1) will face PFL Challenger Series newcomer [autotag]Carlos Leal[/autotag] (16-3) to close out the first event featuring 170-pound fighters.

The main card for PFL Championship airs on ESPN2 and streams on ESPN+ at 9 p.m. ET following the prelims on ESPN+ at 6 p.m. ET.
